This sweet little guesthouse is in a great location near the heart of "Mayberry" (Mt Airy). Within walking distance of historic downtown, the Andy Griffith Museum and Wally's Service station, this bungalow is tucked behind the main house for privacy and quiet. For many years, the property was owned by a local sign maker and this separate building was where he created his signs. Some of his creations are displayed on the exterior. The interior has been completely remodeled. The maximum capacity for this unit is 2.

We chose the bungalow because it was within walking distance to everything we wanted to experience. Darryl was on-site to meet us and the one bedroom apartment was perfect for us. We parked our car and did not move it until we were ready to depart.
Great place! Plenty of space, super clean and great location! Would love to come back!

We stayed here for a quick last minute weekend for the Truck Show we only stayed one night it was three adults and a great stay for us it was very quiet and felt like a safe neighborhood.the owner was super nice and respectful would definitely stay again.i honestly have no complaints
We visit Mount Airy every year and usually have to stay 20 minutes away, but this year we were a literal block away from Mayberry Days by staying here. This is the perfect place for 2 to stay. Inside, the rooms were very clean and looked fairly new. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, as well as the kitchen area. They had some items stocked on hand, but if you need anything there are stores and restaurants close by. Really the only negatives are very minor, the driveway may be tricky if you are in a big vehicle, and the couch wasn’t the most comfortable, but nothing bad at all. Will definitely stay again.

No recommendation from us
Most importantly the host neglected to say that the house is hidden behind the main house which is impossible to see from the road with a driveway that was impossibly narrow .The only good thing I can say about the house was it was clean.
This place was just perfect for us. Small but it’s all you need. Very clean!! Close to everything you wanted to do. The host was great as well!! We will come back!!
The bungalow we stayed in was cozy, well furnished and in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood that felt safe. The location was central to the downtown area and was within walking distance of many local attractions and restaurants.

A Bungalow it Is!!
Great location...not much experience with VRBO but appears these accommodations are minimal. Some TV apps work only if you bring your password from home.

We had so much fun in Mt Airy. I booked a last minute, one night away to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. We hadn’t been to Mt Airy in several years. We had such a good time. The Bungalow was great for two people. It was an easy walk to downtown and the amphitheater is in your backyard! The arts district had music and so did the amphitheater. It is a small happening town! The only tiny set back was, we got locked out of the Bungalow. The door locks behind you. Take the key. We found a nice neighbor to help because our phones were locked inside! Darryl came right over and let us back in. Thank you, Daryl! I will stay here again.

Perfect little space for my husband and I to stay. Quick responses for any questions we had! Would stay again.
A nice place that matches the listing description. There was a clothes line in the back yard that was handy. The bed was comfortable. The futon worked for my 13 year old. The two portable AC units both worked well. The check in and check out process was easy. You can hear live music outside but it was not loud enough that is was an issue inside. Music can be enjoyed from the yard but is not bother some at all if you want to rest. It was a good place to stay.
Overall was a great place to stay and close to everything. Parking was a little tight. Overall was exactly what was expected. I would recommend Chasin Charlie’s and the Depot in Dobson. Best food we had.
We wanted to stay within walking distance of town for the festival. The location was perfect. We even had an amphitheater so close we could enjoy the music and never leave home. Our only complaint would be the couch which was uncomfortable for us. It's pretty hard and straight but for the few days we were there, we managed with pillows. The chair was very comfortable. Parking is tight for a F150 but we managed. This was our first trip to Mt Airy. We loved the town and surrounding area. If you don't want a view and just want a place within walking distance of town, this place would work.
