:: DESCRIPTION ::
Restoration Oaks Vacation/Retreat House —genuine and rustic. Great for small to medium sized groups looking for modern amenities, great decor, comfort, and location convenience — all in a natural, rustic setting on a 1,000 acre working Ranch. The Retreat House and adjoining Cookhouse (an additional cabin-like lounge room for playing games or just hanging out) are located directly off Highway 101, near the front of the property at Restoration Oaks. Just over the backyard berm is Santa Barbara Blueberries, a world-renowned UPick berry farm. There are miles of private dirt roads on the property, are great for hiking, jogging, and mountain biking. Groups will enjoy the rolling hills, canyons, valleys, and seasonal creeks and ponds. During winter and spring months the grass is green and the ponds are often full. The views are always beautiful and there are many interesting areas to explore. NOTE: For general safety, we suggest exploring in pairs or small groups. While exploring the wild oaks woodlands, children should always be accompanied and supervised by adults.

WIFI for $50 per night, two smart TVS, Wii Gaming System, and a Kawaii piano, are a few of the extra touches that make the Retreat House at Restoration Oaks an enjoyable place to host retreats, small family get-togethers, and relaxing vacation getaways, weddings & other events.

The Retreat House is minutes away from many local WINERIES—we're just 5 minutes from Buellton, (the town where the MOVIE 'SIDEWAYS' was filmed) ', 15 minutes from Chumash CASINO, and a little less than 10 minutes from the Danish town of SOLVANG (see listing for other local attractions). WINE TASTING is a favorite pastime in our area, and Buellton has several highly-rated restaurants to choose from. Buellton also has convenient SHOPPING, including a large Albertson's Supermarket and a CVS Pharmacy. Just a little further is the Danish town of Solvang, with enough shops and gift stores to fill a day. Los Olivos is a town full of ANTIQUE SHOPS and WINE TASTING
—20 minutes north on Highway 101.

For a real ‘laid back’ treat, try star gazing. There are no city lights out here. The stars shine brighter than many are used to, and relaxing under the night sky is easily one of the least strenuous ways to spend the end of a great day.

See you at the ranch!

Wonderful stay!

For the second year in a row, we enjoyed a lovely retreat for college student leaders. The property is in a beautiful location and worked really well for our group. The hosts are amazing and very responsive to any requests/questions. We even enjoyed a tour of their farm next door and then picked raspberries and blackberries to enjoy. There is even a fire pit and twinkly lights over the lawn. We hope to come back many times in the future!

Overprice Glamping Experience

This is a beautiful house w a lot of potential. High reviews had us excited. We were okay w the price (more than a 4 star hotel room/person). However, the amenities, services, and cleanliness were UNACCEPTABLE. TV wasn’t working. Sinks in the bathrooms didn’t drain. The sink was gross and needed re-caulking. The lock on the bathroom door wasn't working and the situation was unpleasant to deal with. The host lives near by, upon sharing the concern, her only response was “I’m not the handyman.” One of beds had soiled linen. The light in the fridge isn't working, the freezer door is broken. I understand there's a lot to maintain in a house so I'm not going to add the spiderwebs to the list because we understand we are adjacent to a farm. But the outdoor entertainment room is packed with webs and dusty rendering it unusable despite the fact it is marketed and was one of the larger selling points for our group. I don’t understand the sky high fees for cleaning bc it wasn’t clean. The carpet/areas under the couch were dusty/filthy/not vacuumed. Dust balls and hair. We spent more time cleaning the place than enjoying it. The quality of service was less than desirable. We took plenty of pictures and videos of all the issues. We were also ready to pay the pet fee as one of our friends wasn’t aware of the policy and couldn’t find a last minute pet sitter for their hypoallergenic maltipoo, but upon seeing the uncleanliness we felt we were owed a price adjustment if anything.

Extended family weekend stay

The house was a nice place to have our family get-together. The house is located on a large ranch property that is spacious and we wished we would have had more time to explore. It was also great to have the blueberry farm nearby within walking distance. Lastly, the owners were very communicative and helpful with their information.

UCSB graduation

We couldn't be more pleased with the ranch house. It was exactly what a partybof our size needed and accommodated us all comfortably. If we have another big event like that we will definitely be looking to stay there again. Cant say enough positive things. A fantastic house, grounds and space. Thank you.

Memorable Christmas Family Celebration

Perfect for a big group. Spacious bedrooms with 3 full bathrooms. We love that the kitchen is functional. Beautiful surroundings around the ranch. We felt safe with the security gate. The only thing I can say is the bedroom downstairs needs some improvements (could use a working air purifier to eliminate the smell, air freshener and an area rug would be a plus). Overall, we all had a great time. The ranch was beautiful. Thank you, Ed & Shay!

Family Reunion

Lovely country vibe. The house and grounds worked really well for our gathering of 16. Kitchen is well equipped and dining room very comfortable for family dinners. Loved having a piano in the living room. Fun firepit area and lights over lawn facilitated a post dinner baseball game. Kids loved berry picking. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place to get away!

Great property!

Everything was amazing! Beautiful house, tons of inside and outside sitting and table room, incredible grape arbor just outside the kitchen, huge yard, great property (hiking, etc.). Blueberry stand kind of next door / over a berm of land, some ranch workers back and forth on the shared driveway, and muffled traffic noise from Highway 101, so maybe not for you if you're goal is to be isolated from civilization / away from other people, but we did not mind any of that at all. Our only criticisms are the basement bedroom smelled a bit musty and the bocce court and foosball table mentioned and shown in the VRBO listing did not exist. We rented the house for a family college graduation celebration, and it was absolutely perfect. Would highly recommend!

Perfect for a larger group!

Me and a group of 12 girlfriends comfortably had a blast at this stunning location. Secluded but not too far away from town, close to the wineries, and a true full kitchen! I’ve stayed at places before thah boast having a full kitchen for everyone in your group and have been disappointed in the past; but this exceeded my expectations! I was able to cook for everyone for all our meals with ease. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect for retreat/large group

This place was beautiful and amazing for the retreat I led. Even though it’s next to the 101 freeway- it still feels very private and secluded. Hiking the trails was also perfect. We saw deer, hawks, wild turkeys and owls I’d definitely use this property again.

Post-Christmas get together with family

Overall, we had a wonderful time at this place. Great views and a perfect place for what we wanted to do. Just a few minutes to Solvang, ample space for family to roam, cook, hang-out and spend some quality time. However, we did come across some minor maintenance issues: 1. sink was backed up and the 3rd bathroom was not working- owners were able to expedite repairs that day and was able to fix issues. 2. The showers had low pressures and it took longer for the hot water to come through We did communicate these issues with our host and they seemed very receptive and grateful. Despite these issues, we had a great time. We were able to spend quality time in a beautiful place. Hope to come back soon for the blueberries!

Why they chose this property

The expansive, all natural surroundings of 'The Ranch', as well as access to nearby wineries and plenty of other things going on, really does make our location perfect for hanging out with friends, enjoying family get-togethers, or just spending time hiking, exploring, and ...appreciating all that's there.

We really do love the fact that others can also experience this uplifting environment and enjoy similar times while staying at Restoration Oaks.

What makes this property unique

When I’m out riding on our dirt roads, I feel like I'm a million miles away from civilization—but if I need something, I can drive for 5 minutes to town and get just about anything I want. I also enjoy picking our seasonal blueberries and photographing the native (almost untouched) landscape.

Of course, the house itself is a joy to stay in. The air conditioning might be my favorite thing, but I also appreciate the high-end amenities we've built into the house. I especially enjoy playing the piano any time of the day or night without having to worry about disturbing someone else.

The way the outside areas flow and connect with the house allows us to all be together while enjoying smaller group discussions—at the same time.
