The space
We welcome kind and respectful guests who appreciate the charm, quirks, and love poured into this home. If you’re looking for a stay that’s more than just a rental—a true experience—Old Hollywood Lodge is ready to roll out the red carpet for you. Book now and let the show begin!

The Experience

Step through our doors and be transported to a bygone era of elegance and charm. Every corner reveals delightful Old Hollywood surprises and thoughtful details that our guests consistently rave about. At 1,320 sq ft, it’s cozy yet spacious enough for making memories with your favorite people. No camera tricks here—what you see is what you get, and guests consistently praise the cozy ambiance and enchanting charm of our space.

Our recently completed renovations ensure everything is in perfect working order for your stay, from our newly secured fence gate (making the entire yard safely enclosed for pets) to enhanced pest control measures that keep the home immaculate year-round.

Upstairs Living- Open-Concept Elegance

The heart of our home features a stunning open-concept layout with soaring vaulted ceilings and warm wood paneling that creates an authentic cabin atmosphere:

Fully-Equipped Kitchen: Vintage-inspired appliances, Reverse Osmosis water filtration, and every cooking tool imaginable—air fryer, Instant Pot, Ninja blender, and more! (Dishwasher, microwave, toaster, cooking spices, oil & vinegar, children's dishes, dog bowls, smoothy maker, electric hand mixer, Cuisinart coffee machine, pour-over coffee maker, french press, electric tea kettle, two 8-10 cup coffee packs provided, as well as a selection of fine teas.)

Cozy Living Room: Center yourself around the impressive river rock wood-burning fireplace, sink into our genuine leather Crate & Barrel sofa, or lounge on the tufted velvet futon.

Elegant Dining Area: Gather beneath a magnificent dimmable chandelier at our expandable table that comfortably seats eight.

Vintage Music Corner: Unwind in our oversized reading chair while enjoying our authentic gramophone record player (with growing vinyl collection) or connect your own music via Bluetooth.

Upper Deck: Breathe in the crisp mountain air from our expansive deck featuring comfortable seating, a telescope for stargazing, and a Weber BBQ grill—all overlooking our spacious backyard. (Some patio furniture is unavailable in winter).

Upstairs Bedroom & Bath: Enjoy a restful night on a premium queen memory foam bed, and refresh in our rustic-chic bathroom with rainfall shower.

Downstairs Hideaway- Speakeasy Chic & Secret Surprises

Descend the spiral staircase (professionally inspected for safety and sturdy enough for adults, though some pets may need encouragement) or use the separate side entrance to discover:

Secret Speakeasy: Step back in time in our Prohibition-era inspired lounge with bar, velvet settee, and a collection of board games such as Clue, Monopoly, Battleship, Candyland, Tabletop Pool (we don't have a standard sized pool table), Uno, various decks of cards, and more!

Master Suite: Luxuriate in the California King bed with hybrid memory foam mattress, enjoy your morning coffee from the en-suite Keurig coffee bar, or warm up by the wood-burning stove. Here you will also find our 2 person infrared sauna and stackable washer/dryer, tucked away to use as needed.

Hidden Third Bedroom: A Vintage Forest Escape- Step through the bookshelf wall to uncover a cozy retreat featuring a Queen over Queen bunkbed with twin memory foam trundle bed that pulls out underneath, and all three are exquisitely comfortable. You will also find... drum roll please... a PAC-MAN arcade machine, offering 12 classic games—the perfect touch of old-school charm in this woodland hideaway.

Spa Bathroom: Indulge in our statement clawfoot tub, perfect for a luxurious soak. The bathroom also features a rainfall shower, but due to the charmingly low ceilings, guests over 5'6" may find it more comfortable to enjoy a relaxing soak instead of a shower. This enchanting oasis is easily accessible from both the primary bedroom and the hidden "secret" bedroom.

Private Lower Deck: Step out from the primary bedroom or speakeasy to unwind in the 7-person hot tub or relax on the vintage-inspired porch swing. Take in breathtaking views of the towering trees and sprawling backyard, with beach towels and plastic cups (found in the kitchen) provided for your jacuzzi enjoyment.

Modern Comforts
Despite its vintage charm, our home offers all modern necessities:

- High-speed WiFi and smart 4K TVs in all bedrooms and living room
- Radiant wall heating, easily controlled by Nest thermostats, plus a fireplace-style space heater in the speakeasy and hidden bedroom for added warmth and ambiance.
- Ductless mini-split AC, a powerful portable AC unit, and multiple standing oscillating fans for those rare warm days
- Washer/dryer with provided supplies (detergent and dryer sheets provided as well as iron and ironing board)
- Multiple comfortable workspaces for remote work

Guest access
Guests enjoy full access to the entire home except for a locked hallway closet and outdoor shed.

Entry is via electronic keypad, with a personal code provided before check-in.

Other things to note
Perfect Size: Although some reviews suggest otherwise, our 1320 sq ft home comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests, with three distinct bedrooms plus additional sleeping options. No camera tricks here—what you see is what you get, and guests consistently praise the cozy ambiance and enchanting charm of our space.

Pet-Friendly: Four-legged friends are welcome to join you! ($35 cleaning fee per pet). We kindly ask that pets remain on-leash outside the property, and only enjoy off-leash freedom within our fully-fenced backyard (we’ve added a new secure gate.)

Neighborly Love: Our next-door neighbors' dogs were previously a concern for some guests. We’ve since built a great relationship, and our neighbor is happy to bring them inside if they ever become disruptive.

Parking: Four-car driveway available. No street parking allowed.

Seasonal Considerations: During snow season, chains or 4x4 vehicles may be required (throughout Big Bear). A snow shovel is provided on-site.

Nature's Neighbors: We are meticulous about keeping the home pristine and have implemented effective prevention measures, including ant traps and professional maintenance, which have successfully addressed past ant issues. However, while we strive for a comfortable stay, please be aware that encounters with native wildlife are a natural aspect of Big Bear living, and we do not provide refunds for such occurrences.

Mountain Living Notice: Please be aware that mountain conditions occasionally bring unexpected challenges like severe weather events or power outages that are beyond our control. While we make every effort to ensure your comfort, we cannot offer refunds or discounts for these natural occurrences. We recommend travel insurance to protect your vacation investment against unforeseen circumstances.

Please note: Our permit strictly limits occupancy to 8 people maximum, including infants and children (even though Airbnb's system may not count them). We appreciate your understanding, as exceeding this limit may result in significant fines or necessary eviction.

Please read our House Rules before booking to ensure our cabin is the perfect fit for your mountain getaway!

Anniversary Weekend Getaway

Since the minute we opened up the door My husband and I along with 2 other couples we felt like we went back in time to the wonderful golden era. We didn't waist any time enjoying all the little surprises we found through out the house. It was just all perfect, from shoveling sow to building a snow man to making very special meals to watching movies and we cant forget the jacuzzi at freezing temperatures with perfect pictures. All i can say is No Pictures Will Ever Do Justice and no 1 single trip will be enough. This is a must book again kind of a house.

Great get away house

Loved the aesthetic of the home. It was cozy and just as described. We went hoping to get snow and we did. The house has a little slop and a sled to go down in the yard. My (young adult) daughter and I had fun in snow in the yard. For allowing dogs this house had no signs of pets at all, clean and no dog smell or fur. I did not bring mine this trip but will definitely keep this house on mind for future. Microwave didn't work well but that's minimal issue. If your looking for the iron, its on top of the sauna in a brown basket. No regrets!! Short drive to town. Great home.

About the host

Host profile image
Hi, I'm Charlene! I grew up moving around a lot, but I now call Los Angeles home. I've always had a deep love for Old Hollywood glamour, which inspired me to create the Old Hollywood Lodge in Big Bear. As a dancer, performer, and teacher, I’ve traveled the world, but there’s nothing quite like the cozy charm of the mountains. Hosting allows me to share that magic with others. I take pride in creating a welcoming and stylish space where guests can relax, unwind, and enjoy a touch of classic Hollywood elegance. I hope you feel right at home!

Why they chose this property

I chose Big Bear because it perfectly blends natural beauty with a cozy, nostalgic charm that reminds me of classic Hollywood retreats. The Old Hollywood Lodge is nestled among towering pines, offering peace and quiet while still being close to the village, ski resorts, and lake. I love how the neighborhood feels like a step back in time — crisp mountain air, starry nights, and that relaxed, vintage vibe. Whether it’s exploring local shops, hitting the slopes, or simply cozying up by the fire, this neighborhood offers the perfect escape from the everyday.

What makes this property unique

The Old Hollywood Lodge offers a unique blend of mountain charm and vintage glamour. Inspired by the golden age of Hollywood, the décor features elegant touches like Old Hollywood actor prints, rich velvet furnishings, and Art Deco accents — all designed to transport you to a more glamorous era. The lodge is stocked with thoughtful amenities, including a cozy fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, high-speed Wi-Fi, and Smart TVs for streaming your favorite shows. Enjoy the private deck with mountain views, soak in the hot tub under the stars, and relax with complimentary coffee and tea. With a prime location near the village, lake, and ski resorts, it’s the perfect mix of comfort, style, and Old Hollywood magic.
