Great out of the way spot, but close to everything

We rented the bunkhouse for 10 days, found it to be quite comfortable and homey. Kitchen was well stocked, good bed. Greer was friendly and welcoming, very accommodating of our dog.

Quiet retreat. Close to scenic attractions and golf. Owner very responsive and hospitable.

The small private house met our needs, well furnished and comfortable with quail, other birds and rabbits to watch. Loved the hot tub and BBQ area. Hospitality was great! Tucson exceeded our expectations. So much to do and see.

Wonderful stay!

The Ranchita has a lovely desert setting and our stay in the bunkhouse was enjoyable. The property owner was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed while still giving us our privacy. The bed is quite comfortable and there is plenty of room in the large walk-in closet. The Attractions Coupon Book provided by the owner was helpful in finding places to visit and things to do at reduced admission price. Overall a wonderful stay!

Wonderful!

The casita was just right for my husband and I! Greer was there to greet us and show us around the property when we arrived and was an awesome host. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the bed was very comfortable. The area is very quiet and peaceful! We can't wait to return to Greer's place next year!

You Don't Have to be a Cowboy to Enjoy the Bunkhouse

We stayed at the Bunkhouse during the month of January, 2018 and really enjoyed our time there. The location is good, close to Arthur Pack Park and the Crooked Tree golf course. Still a nice feeling of being away from it all on dead-end road. Apartment in the main house was available for our friends to visit us. Would love to stay here again. Greer is the greatest. Birthday weekend

My husband and I came out to Tucson to celebrate my birthday and we booked the bunkhouse. It was everything we had expected and more. The property was well kept. Greer was very nice and helpful. We played golf at several different places that were recommended to us, such as Quarry Pines (The Pines) and Quail Creek Country Club. We enjoyed our stay and would come back! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Great place. Spacious. Clean. Private (separate house on property). Good location. Great hot tub. Pictures don't do justice. Very nice owner. Our first visit to Tucson. Lots of great hiking. Favorites: Saguaro Park (West) and Sabino Canyon. Golf - especially enjoyed the Quarry Pines course. Favorite happy hour: Downtown Kitchen. Thanks for a great stay. We'll definitely try to return.

Wonderful Vacation Rental

We enjoyed the warm reception we received when checking into the ranchita. The ranchita is nicely decorated, clean, spacious and has everything that one could need. The ranchita is private, with a picturesque outdoor area perfect for relaxing and taking in the birds, bunnies and mountain views. Location is close to a number of hiking areas and downtown. By taking the highway we were downtown in around 20 minutes. Wi-fi is fast and consistent. The property owner Greer is warm and is available when needed, but considerate of personal space. All in all, a wonderful property with great attention to detail and would not hesitate to recommend!

Tucson Desert Oasis

My wife and I and our dog Maddie truly enjoyed our stay at the Bunkhouse in March. It seemed to be peacefully and quietly isolated out in the desert, yet was close to almost everything. There was even a McDonald's within 5 minutes! (I'm a sausage and egg McMuffin addict!) The Bunkhouse was very tastefully decorated and very comfortable, even containing a library of Western history. We especially enjoyed sitting on the swing on the front porch every evening. The highlights of our trip this year were lunch at the Tohono Chul Tea Room, and a chance to see a theatrical version of "The Great Gatsby" at the Arizona Theatre Company downtown. Thanks for a great time! We'll look forward to seeing the garden you have planned in front of the Bunkhouse. - Ben, Marie & Maddie

Triangle Bunkhouse is "heart" of the desert

My time in the Bunkhouse was perfect in every way! I had the peace and quiet of country living in the heart of the desert, yet I was minutes away from any convenience I needed or activity I wanted. The owner allows access to all the property including the patio and table around the main house, outdoor grill area, a hot tub and fire pit. While I enjoyed my solitude, I also loved spending evenings under the stars by the fire pit sharing stories with the owner and other guests. I had as much, or as little company as I wanted. The property is fenced and gated with mountain views from the front porch and wild desert on the other side of the fence. Assess to Tucson is convenient and a major highway is near for travel to adventures in other parts of Arizona. I was there over the winter months and was pleased to find lots of high-caliber activities available, including: an international gem and stone show, a festival of books featuring big-name authors, Native American Arts fair, and the Tucson Rodeo...just to name a few! Because I had an extended stay, I was able to bring my pet with me and we all felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The Bunkhouse was clean and completely stocked, all that was needed was to hang my clothes in the closet and make a stop at the grocery store (which is but minutes away along with a bank, gas station and other amenities.) The owner went out of her way to make my stay comfortable and she responded to any request immediately. She was always helpful without being intrusive. I whole-heartedly recommend this guest facility.

Very quiet, picturesque, an oasis away from the noise and traffic of the city.

The owner lives on property and is very friendly and accommodating. The bunkhouse is away from the main house and you have total privacy. My husband and I have spent the last two winters in the bunkhouse and would definitely return.

Great place to stay in Tucson

This was our second time renting the Bunkhouse. The fact we've stayed there twice should say a lot about the property. It provides us with the options we need (laundry, dishwasher and Internet) and is alway clean. It's also a great size for those 6 week stays. It's on the northwest side of the city and close to the highway if you want to drive up to Phoenix, or down to the border. There are 100's of restaurants to pick from and lots of hiking nearby. Greer is great at making suggestions on what what to do, and if anything goes wrong with the Bunkhouse she fixes it quickly. Of the 3 rentals we stayed in, this is the best.

Tucson Treasure

The Bunkhouse is private, well appointed, and beautiful. There is access to laundry facilities too! While the surroundings make you feel as if you are in the heart of the desert, the Bunkhouse is close to entertainment, shopping, and tourist attractions. The owner is helpful and gives you all the privacy you need. This property is also gated, which makes you feel safe and secure. I wish I never had to leave!

Enjoyed desert solitude and beauty while visiting

We rented the Bunkhouse for the month of March. It was very clean and set up nicely; we used the kitchen and front porch daily. It had everything we needed. The main house is lovely as well and we had friends rent out the two rooms in the upper level for a portion of our time there. It was a wonderful area for a group of 6. The property is beautiful with mature trees, cactus, blooming flowers, water features, birds, rabbits & coyotes. A quiet, relaxing place after a day of hiking or biking. Several nice restaurants, grocery and shopping areas near as well. The owner was wonderful, checking to be sure we had everything we needed and giving us tips on places to check out. We would highly recommend it, especially to nature lovers and hope to stay there on our next trip to Tucson.

a secluded desert retreat

Greer provided a terrific stay for us. Having lived in Tucson a few decades ago, we wanted to reexperience the old flavor, when Tucson was a smaller, quieter, more rugged place. Staying out in the desert in Greer's bunkhouse was perfect. The bunkhouse was much larger than expected, rustic but well appointed, very comfortable, and surrounded by the beautiful desert we remembered. A great value! We felt secluded but Greer's home was right across the driveway and we had easy accessibility to grocery stores and civilization in general. The whole place felt welcoming and very secure. A perfect combination!! Wonderful desert walks and hiking in the Tortolitas (and all the other mountains surrounding Tucson) were welcome additions to our visit. Greer was an attentive yet never intrusive host. We will definitely call Greer again when we next visit Tucson.

Great rental, secure and quiet

We stayed in the bunkhouse at Greer's for 6 weeks. We especially liked the layout. It had a great room, with the bathroom off it. Through the bathroom was the bedroom. When we had guests sleeping in the great room, this gave us the privacy we needed. The bunkhouse was very clean when we arrived, and is well stocked with the cooking basics and towels. The seating was comfortable, which was important to us because we struggled with that at our rental in 2015. Last, but certainly not least are the people. Greer is very accommodating and helpful. The other people renting on her property was very nice to be around and quiet. Also we loved Tucson. There are so many quality places to visit. The great outdoors, art, music and dining are all covered here.

Top notch hospitality. Immaculate and roomy surroundings. All the comforts of home and more. Very convenient to the airport and centrally located to the attractions Tucson and vicinities have to offer. It goes without saying the weather was great.

Beautiful!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bunkhouse is beautiful and fully equipped. If you don't feel like going out to eat, there is a well supplied kitchen to use. We felt at home away from home. The setting is great. We would highly recommend it to everyone.

The bunk house was Home within minutes!

This was a fantastic vacation home away from home! It was clean and well equiped. From kitchen, washer/dryer, hot tub,and nice linens. The owner is very warm and welcoming, she was helpful with things in the area and provided a lot of information. You can be as laid back or as busy as you want to be. The home was cozy and quite, we listen to the coyote at night and many birds. The home was in a perfect location. We were minutes from stores and restaurants but you would never know they were that close. Also under thirty minutes to an hour to many State and National parks. We did some awesome hikes. Many outdoor opportunities in this area. The other Guests on the property were wonderful as well and we look forward to getting to know them all better in the future. We only had one question when we arrived home......and that was "why didn't we stay LONGER"!

Wonderful Stay, Lots to do

We got lucky to rent this property when we did due to a last minute cancellation. I first contacted Greer with some questions about the property via e-mail and she soon called me and we chatted for sometime. She happily answered all of my questions and everything she said was accurate. When we arrived late on Saturday night, Greer greeted us and gave us a short tour of the house, and other helpful information about getting around. She also left us a breakfast in the refrigerator so we didn't have to go out that night shopping (wow). After we unloaded our suitcases, we went over to Greer's wonderful patio and were introduced to some other guests who were enjoying the fireplace. They're a very nice couple who park their RV on the property and we enjoyed chatting with them (note that the property is quite large). They were also very helpful and gave us a folder containing a list of their favorite places to visit. The house is exactly as described. It's a very nice guest house in the southwest style. All floors are tiled, the kitchen is large with a both a small table and a center island. The shower is all tiled and very nice. The bedroom has a king bed with several pillows. Facing south, the guest house has a very nice covered porch. In the morning, the sun rises to your left and we enjoyed sitting out there and warming up. At night, you'll often here coyotes yipping and howling (this only lasts a short time). I enjoyed hearing them as it's so different from where we live. That said, I never once woke up because of any noise outside. We spent most of our days out sightseeing in Tucson and never ran out of things to go see. There's a great deal of hiking available for all fitness levels. I also rented a bicycle (Tucson is a cycling mecca) and did some riding. Tucson is really a great place to visit in the winter months, especially for two people from Minnesota. We enjoyed our stay at the guest house and I would recommend it to anyone. And yes, I'd happily stay there again.

Comfortable, Convenient, Beautiful, Peace and Quiet

The bunkhouse was filled with western character, had all of the amenities you'd want, and was clean and well thought out. It was convenient to any place you'd want to go in the Tucson area. In 20 minutes or less you could be downtown, or out exploring the desert. The surroundings were beautiful - you felt like you were in the desert, yet there were homes around you that were almost invisible. Greer was most helpful, accommodating, and friendly, but never intrusive. She totally respected our privacy and desire for a peaceful and restful environment. The bunkhouse and surrounding property were totally in tune with the listing photos. While staying here, in less than a week's time, we were able to visit southern Arizona wineries, the Kitt Peak Observatory, the Tohono Chul Park, the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, The PGA Match Play Tournament, the artisan town of Tubac, and we toured the downtown area of Tucson as well. Good restaurants were nearby, along with supermarkets and anything else you'd need. We sat on the bunkhouse porch at the end of each day with a glass of wine and enjoyed the beautiful desert scenery, wonderful weather, and peacefulness. This was our first experience with VRBO, but certainly won't be the last! The bunkhouse was delightful, and we heartily recommend it!

Loved the bunkhouse

My husband and I stayed at the bunkhouse for our 10 year anniversary. Greer was very accommodating, the bunkhouse was comfortable and clean, and the property is delightful. We enjoyed cooking out, the hot tub, watching the sunset from the porch. Very relaxing and conveniently located. Golf, hiking, restaurants all within an easy drive.

Nice days in AZ

This was a return visit for us, and we will certainly use this again when we are in Tucson. The stay is pleasant, stress free, everyone at the ranchita is easy to be around. The bunkhouse is roomy, well furnished for our needs and far enough out in the country to avoid the city, but close enough to get anything you desire from the city. We have enjoyed wildlife and biking in the area. Overall we really liked the place.
