We loved staying here! The house was beautiful and so spacious. Victoria was such a great host giving us tips and recommendations for Kernville. Would stay here again.
The house fit the 8 of us comfortably. There was a crib for our toddler. Lots of space with an incredible view. Grandson 11 yrs old had fun hiking around the property and playing the piano. We’d definitely come back. Keep in mind if you have a car that is low to the ground that there’s a dirt road off the main highway going up to the cabin. We had a truck and SUV so all was good.
Nice property but very poor management. One star overall.
The property was nice and cozy. It was in a quiet, mountain and forested area. Shortly after we arrived the water supply to the property stopped working. We worked in good faith, and demonstrated fairness, patience and cooperation to resolve the issue. We attempted to assist the host for several hours to resolve the issue guided by his instructions. We were unable to due to an electrical malfunction in the well and a drained supply tank.We ended up having to shelter for the night without water or plumbing. The family had to go outside to use the restroom. We could not shower or cook food.Repairs were made the following morning. I was told that the water supply would not return for 8-10 hours because the supply tank had to fill. The host called me and became very confrontational, making accusations in an unnecessary attempt to deflect responsibility. The host promised a full refund if we packed and vacated. We did so. Despite their promise they charged me 1000 dollars for the first night without water or plumbing. The charges have been disputed with the host with no resolve. I have filed a dispute with VRBO and the county that are being investigated. This is a deeply unfortunate and negative experience that should have been resolved in a positive way for everyone. This is a very nice property. I cannot recommend anyone rent this property due to deeply flawed management practices. Until the host's make improvements, I would warn anyone against renting this property.
