Stay in a Vintage Gatlinburg Motel! Now Pet Friendly!
The Fox Den is a 2 bedroom 2 bath Vintage Motel apartment. It was originally the owners house of the Fox Motel built in 1950s by our Grandparents that we have redone and converted to a nightly rental. An amazing location with less than a 1/4 mile walk to downtown Gatlinburg shops and restaurants with a Trolley stop in front of the building. Watch the Gatlinburg parades for Christmas and July 4th from the patio at the front of our plaza! The building was designed by Hubert Bebb (a student of Frank Lloyd Wright) and is one of the few remaining vintage motels in Gatlinburg. It has been remodeled for your comfort while keeping as much original as possible to give you the experience of 'Olde Gatlinburg Charm'. Decorated with a vintage/boho/eclectic theme, local arts and crafts, and rustic touches make this a unique rental. Fox (of Cherokee origin) was our Grandparent's last name and we've kept their legacy of hospitality intact by continuing to welcome guests to our place of happy memories!

This was a great place to stay!!! Perfect location for walking the strip and felt safe and like we were not right in town. It was very homey and relaxed feeling. Highly recommended and will definitely be back!!!
Fox Place is a quaint cottage. It is spacious enough for a family of 5 to find a quiet corner and allowed us to come together for meals. Walking distance to all things Gatlinburg.
We really enjoyed our stay in Scott's cozy home that will take you back to the warmth & nostalgia of days gone by. Scott was very kind and accommodating to our family and pets. We would be glad to return again soon.
I really enjoyed my stay and hated to leave. It was convenient and inviting. Only thing that might possibly need improvement is the queen bed mattress quality. Otherwise, it was hands down an excellent experience.
Great location near downtown but quiet. House was so nice. Clean and cosy. We loved finding the Scrabble game and a deck of cards. That produced much entertainment and lots of laughs. This lodging had everything we needed. Wish we could have stayed longer.
My husband and I traveled to Gatlinburg for a family wedding and brought our small dog. Many cabins that were “pet friendly” cautioned against pets on furniture and required crating pets if you left the cabin. This rental was different, and Scott was very responsive in letting us know that it would be fine to leave our dog in the home without crating while we were gone for the wedding. I felt like I was at my grandma’s house, and really liked learning about the history of motels in the area. We stayed in the room with the king bed and it was so soft and cozy. I really slept well this trip. We played Scrabble on a rainy afternoon. Only drawback was difficulty finding an outlet in the kitchen to plug in the toaster. No big deal, we just made toast in the bedroom. Updated TVs in each bedroom and the living room were a welcome sight. Walking distance to all downtown Gatlinburg without having to pay for parking was awesome. It was a great trip! I highly recommend this rental for your next trip to the area.
We really enjoyed our stay at Fox Place. It is accurate to the Vrbo listing and was easy to find . The building is a renovated vintage motel with new modern amenities, but it has rustic charm. It has a cabin feel with the wood work inside, i liked some of the antique looking furniture too. We only had 3 of us in our party, so the daybed room wasn't needed. The layout is unique, but with its age and renovations, its not surprising. I loved the proximity to downtown without being directly downtown Gatlinburg. Its an easy walk to all the shops and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this apartment, and will consider staying again. Scott one of the owners was very responsive to all my questions and offered suggestions for backways around town.
The whole experience was easy. The apartment /house was clean with everything you pretty much needed except the food. Had no problem with anything. Would come back here again! And hubby's input was he was happy it had 2 bathrooms! Thank you Scott for making it all easy.
We loved our stay in Gatlinburg! The location was great! It was nice to be able to walk downtown. The place was clean and communication with the owner was quick and easy. Bonus points because it was pet friendly!!
Cute little cottage, walking distance to down town. Full kitchen, bathv& 1/2. Little noise from road but not bad, we were there over Labor day weekend & it was busy! Would stay again.
Visited with my mom and sister and our 2 dogs for a quick birthday get away for my sister. Scott was so great to deal with, responsive, kind, and helpful. I felt like I was more needy than I have ever been for a short term host and he was always so gracious. I am cautious where I stay with my dog for cleanliness and always check under beds and couches at check in. The cleaning crew here keeps the underside of everything clean. Trolly stop literally outside the front door made going into the heavy traffic tourist area a breeze. We LOVED the family history connected to the property. It made staying there seem so special. We even got to see the resident bear which paid us no attention as it crossed the street. Highly recommend this spot. I’ve already told several friends they should stay here.
We would have liked to stay here but we've got some sensitive respiratory systems in our family. A couple people's allergies kicked in shortly after we walked inside. Ended up having to find other accommodations.
The one thing about this location that did make us a little uneasy is there is a rundown hotel adjacent to this property. It just looked creepy. Scott was very understanding and took care of us. Thank you!
This little place in the heart of Gatlinburg, TN has an old time feel and is in walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg and a short drive to Pigeon Forge. If you play it right you may also see the resident bears that come out from time to time. Will definitely look to stay here again if we come to Gatlinburg

We (Robin, April, Scott and Rodney) are the grandchildren of Amos and Murrell Reagan Fox, the original owners of the Fox Motel. Our Grandmother Murrell Reagan Fox is a direct descendant of Martha Jane Huskey Ogle, the original founder of White Oak Flats (Gatlinburg). We inherited part of the property from our mothers (Kathy Daniels and Libby Smith) and purchased the remainder from our Aunt Frances Shambaugh. Frances is well known in Gatlinburg Craft Community for her weaving. We have so many wonderful memories of Gatlinburg and Fox Motel growing up and are so excited to be able to share this special property!
