This is a historical building built in 1880 that was the local meat market and then later to became a Cheese Factory (creamery) which it is locally known as today. Nearly condemned in the 1980s a very ambitious carpenter decided to not only make it livable but expand the attic to create a very unique living space.

The Cheese Factory home is exactly as advertised - old western-style theme décor, space for many (we were just two adults), a well-stocked and large kitchen, and quiet, quiet, quiet with a bubbling creek next door. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and communications with the host went well. (There are stairs to the main (2nd) floor, if that's a concern.) Comfy bed, and large living room area with books and games. Great stay!
Had all you needed. Great views from the windows and close to some great little pullouts for pictures. Deer in the area which was nice. Awesome little creek that puts you right to sleep. When I'm in the area again I would love to stay here more, given the opportunity. Great internet for those that still need to stay connected.
Love the location, decor, and area. Being able to listen to the brook running along the property, crickets and NO cars!!! Wish we could have stayed longer. Would recommend to everyone who needs to get away and recharge!!!
First trip up to Modoc County. Cheese Factory was clean, the decor is a look back in history. Place was welcoming. Full information given prior to check in so there weren't any surprises. Definitely looking forward to staying again in the future.
Everything at the cheese factory worked out perfect for our group. The owner was very helpful every time we needed something. Looking forward to next year's stay at the cheese factory.
