We stayed over a long weekend with a group of friends. We enjoyed our stay because of the convenient location and the amount of space in the house which allowed everyone to have their own room.
I agree with other reviews which state the house could be cleaner.
The host was great to work with, we would consider staying here again with a large group.
Not gonna lie, i was suspect of the house when we 1st entered wondered how our family of 10 was going to handle being there BUT it all worked just fine. Our host was VERY attentive before and during our stay answering my many, many questions.
If you are traveling with elderly as we were, be aware there are many stairs both to enter the house and once inside (but the inside can be seen from the photos).
Loved bowood niche around the corner!
This house needs some TLC. It’s an older house, so you’ll experience some of the issues an older house has. However, it’s definitely got charm. The beds are comfortable and the water is hot. It’s very close to all of the fun things St Louis has to offer for families. Our family of 7 enjoyed the stay. We had some issues the first night/day, however, the owner very quickly, kindly, and generously resolved the issues. She was very responsive and I would stay again just for her, because not every host is as good as her (or even a person, and not a company, for that matter). The house could have been a little cleaner on the floors, but that’s an easy fix. If you’re looking for a big house close to a lot of things, this is a good spot.
The home has a lot of character and charm! However, it is an older home and needs some TLC. The beds were comfortable and had really nice linens. The area is full of historical homes. There is a cute café “Bowood by Niche” right down the street; great food and the greenhouse is fabulous. We even went home with plants! We had an issue when we arrived with the air conditioner but the host was very responsive and the problem was resolved right away. (Instructions on where and how to operate the thermostat would be a nice addition) The host was also nice to allow a late check out; which was much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay but the house could have been cleaner (it was dusty on the bookshelves and ledges). Kitchen Appliances were all new and dishes were clean. If you’re looking for a house for a larger family and close to things to do, this is a nice option. Location is good and the host was awesome to work with. Thanks for the weekend accommodations.
We traveled to Saint Louis as a group of 11 adults. The house had a lot of space and easily accommodated all of us. The bedrooms were large and the beds (all of which were king or queen) were very comfortable for all of us. There was a nice patio out back for us to hang out on. The neighborhood was really quiet and within a 15 minute drive from everywhere we wanted to go. The house next door looks a little "sketchy" from the street view but I believe it's going to be renovated. The homes in close proximity are well kept and we had no issues at all. This house is located within close proximity or downtown and The Grove. Cute little coffee shop just a short walk away. Communication with Tylisha was a breeze and she answered all of our questions quite promotly. Our only complaint was there is no central air conditioning. There are individual units in each of the rooms or cooling fans. We did have to add water or ice packs (which were in the freezer) to get them to turn on. The rooms cooled rather quickly. The community spaces were fairly warm during the heat of the day but the bedrooms stayed cool as long as you kept the doors closed. It was cooler at night and morning so we would open the windows while there and it helped significantly. Tylisha did say that central a/c was their next big upgrade. There was plenty of street parking to accommodate us all as well. Also, there was no shortage of very hot water with all of us showering in the morning.
