Whether you're planning a romantic getaway for two - or a fun retreat for the family, Mile High HideAway has it all. Easy access to the village, AND the privacy of a secluded mountainside home in the treetops. Take in the spectacular panoramic views. Watch the parade of fauna, from deer munching on manzanita to the "squirrel circus" on the deck. Relax in the 7-seater spa while soaking up the last rays of sun.

Why Idyllwild? Shhh. It's one of those best kept secrets. Long a haven for artists, musicians, writers and craftsfolk - not to mention spiritualists, hikers and nature lovers. Nestled in the gorgeous San Jacinto mountains, it's a 2 hour drive from LA, just an hour from Palm Springs. Did you know it has a Golden Retriever for a mayor? August.

As for what to do, Idyllwild has something to offer for everyone. Like adult beverages? Sample some hoppy treats at Idyllwild Brew Pub - or go for a tasting at the Middle Ridge Winery. As for eateries, there's something for everyone from fancy (Restaurant Gastrognome, Ferro) to down home (The Lumber Mill, Mile High Cafe). Feeling artsy? Paint your own pottery at Earth 'n' Fire. Or enjoy one of the shows at the Arts Alliance. And don't forget to take a hike - and enjoy the view.

Mile High HideAway has a keyless entry system to make things easy for everyone. Check-in is a breeze if you decide to make the most of your trip and head up after work. Your access code will be active from the day of your arrival through departure. Your access code will send three days before arrival.

Mile High Hide-Away has 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths, as well as an optional 3rd children's/game room. And - the 84 Channel TV, Playstation (in "The Bunkhouse" downstairs), Ping Pong and Cornhole games ensure no kid is ever bored.

Tiered Pricing for smaller groups! Lower nightly rate built-in for groups of four people and under. As we get into colder months, please be aware of our snow removal policy listed in the Other Things to Note section of the listing.

Though this listing is new, we are seasoned SuperHosts with six other cabins in Idyllwild and over 1000 collective reviews on Airbnb across our eight properties. Read all our rave reviews by clicking on our profile.

Family getaway

This trip was meant to get us out of the city and spend time together. The house is beautiful and cozy. We played games, watched movies and just spent time together as a family. We absolutely loved it!

Beautiful location!

We enjoyed our stay at Mile High Cabin. The location was great with a beautiful view. If you have a lower set car like we do take the driveway slow! We cooked most meals at the cabin and had everything we needed. We had a little bit of trouble with the grill but Erin and the handyman, Mike took care of it quickly. Don’t forget to stop at the local fire department to get a permit before use! The beds were comfortable and the AC was awesome during the heatwave Idyllwild experienced. The hot tub was a plus! Watching the squirrels and birds outside was very entertaining. Definitely liked that there were seeds for us to feed Chuck and crew. We think Chuck is the chonkier of the squirrels. He’s well fed! My only suggestion is to include a crockpot. We would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely wonderful!

We were so pleased with the cabin. We quickly realized the owners tried to think of so many little things that could make our stay a happy one. It's decorated tastefully and we felt very comfortable. Great view from so many decks and windows! We feel lucky we selected such a great property for our relaxing weekend.

Would love to stay here again!

What a lucky find! This is a great home, very spacious and just a short drive from the town center. Well stocked with kitchen supplies, water bottles, coffee, towels, soap/shampoo/conditioner, just about everything you need. I really appreciated that the cabinets have small photos attached to the inside doors so you know what goes where after washing. The house is up a hill so there are beautiful views with a wraparound deck. I loved sitting outside in the sun. Loved the TV by the hot tub too, my husband and I watched a few movies while relaxing. All in all, we spent a few really nice days here. The owners have made some smart decisions with their property and what's available to guests and we would definitely return.

Peaceful

The house was very clean with everything we needed. We really enjoyed just sitting on the deck and watching the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. Cooking here was no problem and kitchen layout was great. The jacuzzi with TV was heaven!!
