Beautiful Cabin on the Lake with Hot Tub & Sandy Beach!
This Charming Cabin (located 12 miles north of Traverse City and 30 miles east of Sleeping Bear Sand dunes) offers plenty of room for two families to vacation together or is cozy for one family to enjoy as well. Swimming/boating in the all sports lake, building campfires and singing songs, grilling and enjoying a great meal on the large deck are just a small fraction of things to enjoy on your vacation. Let the children explore the 3 1/2 acre property while you relax in the hot tub. Cooking is a dream in the large kitchen.
Curl up with a good book by the gas/stone fireplace or play one of the many card or board games offered in the cabin. Have your first cup of coffee in the gazebo and watch the sun rise. Bring your bikes and ride the Leelanau Trail to Suttons Bay or Traverse city. You will build lasting memories with your friends and family at our cabin on the lake.

This is our 4th stay on this property and is the highlight of our summer. The cabin is comfortable, quaint and we love that's it's TV free. The beach area and marina make it the perfect summer get away. The kids always enjoy the hot tub as well. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms would make it an 11/10!
My three girlfriends and I loved our stay here! The view could not be beat, and the fact that we had our own rooms made it even better. The cabin was perfectly situated on the lake, and two of us were delighted to spot a bald eagle flying by one morning near the shore. We look forward to returning next time!
This is our 4th year staying in this oasis and we will keep coming back in until our children are grown. The cabin is large and comfortable. We appreciate the AC that was installed a few years ago! We love the lake, the sunsets, the hot tub and it's very close to so many up north activities. I couldn't recommend it more. The lack of TV is amazing, as it allows us to spend a whole week tech free! The only slight downsides are the water is strong smelling and water pressure in the shower is weak but these are minimal compared to the rest. Thanks again for another amazing group of core memories formed.
Beautiful view, great outdoor area. Large sitting area and spacious kitchen inside made our stay very comfortable
Would definitely recommend to friends and family
The only con was no washer or dryer but all else was wonderful
What a wonderful weekend at this property- first time using VRBO and such a great experience! Very clean, all amenities and a hot tub - we relaxed, celebrated and enjoyed! Thank you so very much, much appreciated and recommended! We will be back next year!
We have a group of 6 women that get together annually. This year we selected Traverse City area and so glad I booked this VRBO. This house was the perfect location. We used a local wine/beer tour company that picked us up from the house and took us on a 4 hour wine tasting excursion. There were plenty of beds/rooms for everyone to get their own bed. It was last house on the 'street' so felt private. The views of the lake were gorgeous and the spacious deck with hot tub was great for hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather and views. There were plenty of towels provided and supplies in the kitchen as well.
We LOVED our cabin on Lake Leelanau! It was spacious and had everything we needed for a fun stay. Loved having a hot tub! The owners were prompt in responding to and resolving any questions/issues we had. I would definitely book this place again.
This is our third stay and it was paradise as always! The cottage is just the right size...big enough for a family of 5 (with one unused bedroom) but quaint. We love not having a TV and getting "screen free" time. The place is clean and has all the amenities one could need. We could not find the marshmallow roastsers this time, so we used old fashioned sticks. The only small issue was sharing the fire pits with the other families. There was one very large group that wanted to use both some nights. Other then that, it was wonderful and we've already booked for next summer!
Once again “The Big House” at west wind was great! My brothers family of four and my family of five loved looking and playing in Lake Leelanau. We had family meals at the large table, celebrated an anniversary, and enjoyed fires by the lake. Beautiful Sunsets!
We had a wonderful vacation at the cabin on the lake! The house was very nice and exactly as pictured - in fact, it seemed bigger than the photos. The beach was steps away and the hot tub was lovely for relaxing after biking, boating, and hiking nearby. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this property.

About the host

Our family operated the resort that this cabin is a part of since 1976. The other cabins were sold to seperate owners in 2001. Dad operates this cabin with the help of his adult children and their families.
Why they chose this property
We did not need to take a vacation because we were living at the best vacation spot in the world. Our family memories of growing up on the lake, playing in the water, singing songs around the campfire and watersking are special times we hope to pass on to other families.
What makes this property unique
One of our many favorite things to do at our cabin is sit in the hot tub after a dip in the lake and watch the sun set. Going on little adventures to the sand dunes, Lake Michigan or canoeing down local rivers are treasured memories to our families.
