Family vacation

The house was beautiful plenty of roomfor everyone. Thankful you allow pets, and very appreciative you refunded the pet fee for one of the the pets that didn't come. We will definitely stay here again and tell others about this property.

Salty Shamrock a lucky find!

The house with a view of the ocean had space for three generations to be together and have our own space. The pool was just steps away, the shade on the deck from the upper deck allowed us to enjoy being outside while being out of the sun. The stocked kitchen had an abundant supply of dishes, glasses and cookware. We loved the comfort and charm while having space for all.

Short walk to beach and overlooking pool

We loved that we could overlook the pool from the deck. The boardwalk to the beach is so close and of course the view of the beach from the patio is amazing. A few maintenance and safety issues prevented a higher rating. If not for those items this is a wonderful rental for a groups.

Not good for folks with knee issues

Too many stairs and too steep for anyone with knee or other issues. Vacasas has the worst app and when chatting or calling they still did not respond with any appropriate solution. It was pass the buck and it never got passed. We will never book with this group again. They lost our business

Beach balcony

Nice place and a great balcony. Beach was close. Very nice. A few minor things did not work (dishwasher, window shade, limited hot water). Also, smell was bad on first floor such that the lower bedroom was unusable. Fortunately, we did not need it.

Family & Thanksgiving Week

The view is beautiful. Access to beach is close and easy. Our family and dogs love that! But-property is tired. Upholstery is dirty. Pullout couch bed was smelly and dirty. While sweeping up I found lots of sand under furniture. Intense chemical/petroleum smell on first floor leaving 1 bedroom unusable. Bedroom with 2 beds has full beds not queens as advertised. Master bath room is tiny. Plumbing issues in 1/2 bath and kitchen-fortunately after our big holiday meal was over and the night before we left -so the effect to our trip was minimal. I think you can do better.

Nice place in the beach, poor management

Upon arriving at the house, the keypad outside would not work, luckily the housekeeper left the house unlocked. Downstairs ac not working, called to report numerous time with no resolution until day 3, poor response from management with no follow through. After ac fixed on day 3 it went out the next day again but we were leaving the next day so we didn’t bother with it. Never got the keypad fixed, reported that washer wasn’t spinning out clothes. Overall the house was nice, view was beautiful but I don’t think I’d stay there again because I spent hours on the phone trying to get things fixed

Nice getaway!

Location was amazing! Cute house equipped with everything we needed. It could use a deep cleaning as there were food crumbs behind appliances on the kitchen counter and incredible amounts of dust under furniture (beds). Also we were asked to wash all of the towels before we checked out which was a first for us and we've stayed at dozens of places.

Beach time 4.5 stars

House fit all our needs. Was clean upon arrival, except for baseboards. Kitchen had everything we needed, plenty of pots/pans, utensils, flatware, dishes. Great view and location in the complex. Comfy beds and plenty of towels and beach towels too. Closet with beach toys was a disaster, didn’t even try to get the wagon out, plus it looked like it had a broken wheel. Watch out for stickers in the grass, even at the pool. Overall we loved the house and would stay there again. Gave it 4.5 stars due to two remotes needing batteries, stickers in grass and toy closet.

Nice stay

House was close to the beach which was a big plus with small children. It had a really nice large deck on second floor. Kitchen was small but still ok. There were no kitchen towels available but a fair assortment of pots pans and cooking utensils The beds were comfy. Lots of stairs so watch out with younger children. Everything was nice and clean when we arrived

Family Time

Absolutely loved the proximity to the beach and the spaciousness the house provided. Definitely did not like the strong odor in the house. It smelt like bug spray. I did mention in my survey within hours of arrival but did not get a reply. The responsiveness to messages was non existent. Before and during our stay.

We’ve had better places to stay.

We’ve stayed at several houses in port A, atleast 5 in the lost colony community, and this one was definitely our least favorite. It wasn’t very clean, not horrible, but definitely not as clean as you’d expect it to be. They left us with very little hand soap in all the bathrooms, ran out after about a day, and we were there 7 days. Not a big deal, but come on now. One of the bath tubs wouldn’t drain properly, so if you’d like to stand in a foot of water while you shower, it’d be perfect for you. I’m not sure how the other tubs were. Watch out when you get out the shower, the tile outside the bathroom door is very slippery and almost fell a couple times, but luckily, caught my self. No joke, it’s pretty dangerous. The house smelled funny, at first I thought it was my sister in laws new boyfriend, but after a couple of days, I realized it was actually the house. Maybe the couch? Or the vents? The pullout couch was covered in sand when we pulled it out, so just consider that not an option to sleep on. One of the bedroom tvs wouldn’t work, (not a huge issue when you go on vacation to enjoy the beach, but it’s nice to be able to watch tv when you’re resting). The kitchen is super small, and very little cookware, and what they do have, is pretty much falling apart. Time to upgrade your pots and pans, the handles don’t have much life left. Now that’s all the bad, here’s the good. Definitely wonderful views, which is what you’re paying for. If you can live with what all I mentioned above, then you may enjoy this place. the 3rd floor deck with the swing is a wonderful place to hang out in the morning or evening and enjoy the sound of the waves. The 2nd floor deck is nice also. Plenty of shade, seating, and it was overlooking the pool so you can watch your kids swim. Outside was our favorite part of this property. Also, it’s super close to the beach, literally a 2-3 minute walk and your in the sand. The beds were comfy also. I’ve stayed at some where the beds suck, and this one was actually pretty comfortable. Overall 3 stars and only because of location and the view. We won’t be staying here again, but will definitely be back to the lost colony. They have several other properties that are much more comfortable.

location, location

This property is very much as seen In the photos. Wonderful views from every window and deck. You are just steps away from the beach and only a short drive to town (8mi). The house is all about the location. The master bedroom has a wonderful deck and provides a sunshiny spot to sit and listen to the surf. The master bathroom is small but has a tub/shower - so all you need. The master bed is a HIGH, soft king. No steps/chair are provided to help you get in. So, if you are older and short (as I am) this is not the best bed for you. The second upstairs bedroom has two full beds which are normal height. Our main issue with the house was the kitchen. Bugs. We called and they did send out exterminators twice for us but the issue continued through our Feb. stay. The coffee pot is old, rusted and needs to be replaced. Also, the broom provided is worthless. I would have appreciated an electric broom as we were there a month and it was impossible to sweep the floors. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glassware, bakeware, etc. No dishtowels or cutting board however. Plenty of games provided. The pool is clean and well maintained. It is not heated.

Top Notch Location With The Best Views!

We loved our stay at the Salty Shamrock. Our favorite part was the large deck space and the views of both the pool and gulf. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Family Vacay...

Family had a blast. My only disappoint was the homeowner/TurnKey would not allow for an early check-in (I offered to pay) after a (14) hour drive. I thought it was rude especially after offering to pay and then having to dish out quite a bid of $$$ for the rental. Salty Shamrock

Overall a great place to stay! The location is minutes away from either Port A or Corpus Christi. The beach access is very good and you are away from the larger crowds. The house is next to the pool area which was a plus for our grandson. Family oriented and our `neighbors` were very friendly. We made friends with several families and had a great time. The overflow parking area is a plus especially for boats. Most all accommodations in the area are not boat friendly. But, as I have commented in past reviews, it would be extra nice to have electricity and water at this area for charging batteries and washing off our boat. The house was very clean and well maintained. We will return. We had a great time, the views from the balconies were breathtaking. It was my grandkids first time at the beach and they had an awesome time! The house was very clean and the staff was very responsive to a small issue and quickly made it right. The pool was awesome and the house was very well equipped with everything we needed. We would definitely stay again! This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Lovely!!

The house was lovely and the beach was wonderful! The only issue is the closet full of `beach stuff` on the ground floor. It`s a mess. Some items are broken and there is no organization at all. It might be time to clean out the closet & toss a few things. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.
