Great access to the lake

Great outdoor space and it was great to be able to dock our boat and access fishing on the river or lake! Our kids loved the pool and the covered patio was fantastic - we enjoyed being able to be outside on a rainy day and drink coffee out there each morning. Kitchen is very well appointed.

Country setting

We thoroughly enjoyed the property. It had a country feel, while still being close to many things. My children liked the pool, and we went canoeing on the lake almost everyday of our stay. The song birds were vocal every morning. We hope to stay again in the future.

Musty

Although clean on the surface the house had a musty smell that didn't go away. The mattresses and pillows in both bedrooms were very uncomfortable. The bath towels should be replaced. Very old and scratchy

Just like home.

Our stay was perfect. Everything was as advertised. Felt like home. We like to grill and eat in while on vacation. Preparing meals as a family. The kitchen had most in everything we needed. There were plenty of pool and bath towels. The grounds were peaceful and beautiful. The home is fairly close to The Crystal River and Rainbow Springs. We watched and swam with manatees. Snorkeled the springs and Devils Den. Went on an airboat ride too. Other time was spent in and around the pool. John was in contact during our stay and answered all our questions about the property. We would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing!

This house was perfect for a relaxing week with my mom and teenagers. The lake is good for fishing (not swimming), and the kayaks and canoe provided at the house were fun for the kids to paddle around the lagoon. The pool at the house is superb. The house is well-stocked and comfortable. This location is just outside of the main strip of Dunnellon. It is a short drive to KP Hole or Rainbow River state park. Walmart, Publix, and Winn Dixie are also close.

Relaxing and peaceful!!

We were a family of 7 and had a great week at this property. Prior to arrival, John, the property owner reached out several times with tips and details. A storm came through and knocked out power the day before we got there, which caused the pool pump to stop working. John did an excellent job communicating with us and was able to pull some strings to get things back up and running right away for us. Overall, the property was great. It was a bit smaller than we’re used to but we made it work. I think a family of 5 would be perfect. The pool was a bit smaller than it looked on the pictures so we didn’t use it much. The property being right on the lake was great as our boys spent a lot of time fishing off the dock. There are plenty of fish around, although we really only caught bluegill. We really enjoyed the location as it was NOT in a high tourism area. It was slow paced and relaxed. There is plenty around to do. Rainbow Springs is about 10 minutes away and Crystal River about 20 minutes.

Quiet location on the water

Property is well maintained and very functional. The pool was clean and we enjoyed it daily even during Florida’s unseasonably cool temperatures. We fished off the dock and did see a rather large gator in the lake. Property manager responded quickly when we had questions. We are planning a return visit.

Relaxing Stay on Lake Rousseau

We spent 1O days at this lake property for the New Year. Everything was as stated in the description. The property was clean, well cared for and had everything we needed. We rented a boat and fished, hiked, relaxed and enjoyed the non-busy, old Florida atmosphere of Dunnellon. It was cool but sunny every day. We cooked and thoroughly enjoyed the home. Had everything we needed for a relaxing get-away! John, the property owner, was great to work with.

Fun and relaxing!

A very nice, simple place for family and friends to enjoy outdoors and local conveniences. The lake view is lovely but with the growth of some grassy water plant, fishing was impossible unless you boat away from the dock. With so little food delivery and restaurants near, you should plan to do a good deal of cooking so, if you are picky about kitchen gear, bring your favorites. We ordered a blender and waffle iron from nearby walmart as well as a casserole set for lasagna one eve. Will also recommend bringing your own pool towels there are a few, but more like thin gym towels. For a group of 4/6 the overall house towel supply is light. Plan on doing laundry daily. Would definitely visit again, with a few more provisions in tow. Hopefully these details will help you enjoy your stay more as well!

Pure family fun

We had an amazing time at “Paradise Found”. Despite a rainy week, we still managed to make a ton of memories kayaking, fishing, tubing down the rainbow river, swimming in the heated salt water pool, and even checking out neighboring towns! John was always very responsive and helpful. The home was exactly as described which we fully enjoyed!

Beautiful Property

My husband and myself, and our best friends, another couple, stayed at “Paradise Found” for almost a week. All of us are around 60. The property was a good design for handicap accessibility. The property is beautiful. The Cypress trees with the moss were lovely. The house was supplied with everything you need, just bring your groceries. We spent a lot of time in the screened in patio area. There is a tv out there as well, but the picture didn’t work, only the sound. We swam a little every day, but the pool was quite chilly. John (owner) controls it through an app and it is supposed to be 82 degrees. We didn’t test it, but we guessed it was in the low to mid seventies. It felt about like the Rainbow Springs we visited, which is 72 degrees. This shouldn’t be an issue if you visit later in the summer. We were going to use the kayaks, but they were the ones you have to sit inside. They were a little small, so we opted for the canoe. We enjoyed paddling around the lake. Take mosquito spray, you will need it. They have plenty of games, horseshoes, fishing supplies. We saw two different young gators near the dock. Take a lantern or flashlights for the dock at night. We could never get the lights to work. I recommend kayaking on the Rainbow River. We used Rainbow River Kayak Adventures. They were great. The kayak trip took about 3.5 hours. Beautiful River. We would definitely recommend Paradise Found.

We would definitely stay again! Great central location to a lot of nearby attractions. Very peaceful. The screened room in back and the pool are perfect!

Peaceful and lush location

This remote home is on a lake full of bass and other fish. The wildlife is amazing and the trees and greenery are gorgeous. The owner allows you to use their kayaks and canoe to really enjoy the water. Rainbow springs is close by and the water is crystal clear. There is a nice fire pit also.

Waking up and looking out over a beautiful lake view made it really hard to leave this property. We went during the coldest Christmas in 30 years but it was noticeably in this warm and accommodating home. Looking so forward to visiting again.

Nice house on a lake

This house is very clean and livable for a family of six or several friends for any length of stay. Plenty of room inside the house or out in the screened in patio next to the pool. And a good size back yard for the kids to play in. The fire pit is a nice added feature too, as well as the covered boat dock right there on the lake. Overall, the house is very well maintained, clean and roomy. We really enjoyed our stay there for over a week. And the property owner is very easy to work with and ensured that our stay was enjoyable. We recommend staying here.

Most Relaxing and Quiet place

The property was very clean and comfortable. The backyard was amazing and the most relaxing setting you can imagine. Truly the best part of untouched part of Florida I have ever experienced. Everything is within a short drive 10-12 minutes. So much to see and experience. Thank you for the amazing stay! Yury.

Nice house, pool. Speeding boats and cars, noisy neighbors

Let me start by saying owner is nice and communicates very well. The property is nice, I just want to be thorough and the owner can not control some of the things I will discuss. 1) There must be several rental places next to property and those tennants were NOISY and full of Fbombs. We also had random residents show up unannounced nor invited and drinking is obviously a favorite past time. 2) Be prepared for speeding cars and bass boats. There is kind of a blind spot pulling out of property and people absolutely fly down that small road. Close call several times, especially with a boat trailer. Not sure where you would park an RV? On the lake, speeding bass boats everywhere on a heavily pressured lake. I found out there is a tournament last weekend of EVERY month. 3) Cove where house resides is little more than a swamp. Boat house was nice, bring ant spray for your boat, mine was covered in them somehow 1st day. 4) Gators and stumps everywhere, so be cautious. 5) Taking baths in both bathrooms simultaneously can be tricky with hot/cold water. Overall we had a good time. House was well furnished, pool was nice, especially for kids. We probably will look elsewhere in the future due to above mentioned elements.
