Just finished our summer stay at the property with extended family. This was a return visit having first stayed there in 2022.Very high quality property, sunsets ae spectacular and just up the hill from great beaches. Won't be our last trip to the property - highly recommended
Great stay in Cape Breton at this home. Had everything we needed. Linen is similar to a high end hotel which was great. A minor issue happened that could happen at any house and the host was very quick to reply and send someone to fix. Great experience.
Excellent location for the Port Hood beaches, which remain hidden gems. Inside, the unit (upstairs) was clean and inviting. All facilities were as advertised. We stayed 4 nights, cooked-in two and ate-out two. The kitchen ware was excellent, but the BBQ needs a bit of updating. We're very glad we stayed!
A gathering of siblings ranging in age 82 -56 this is where 6 people gathered for a week at this luxury condo and the sunsets off the porch are breathtaking the interior is spotless.Very comfortable accomadations it is 5 star. One inquiry call was made and quickly answered there is not one complaint.
Port Hood and it's beaches are wonderful.I would definity stay again.
Exceeded our expectations, and we were expecting a nice place! Location is great - water views and evening sunsets from the well-appointed front balcony. The unit was very clean and comfortable. Sufficiently roomy so not a bad place to hang out if the weather does not cooperate re the beaches. Beaches are walking distance of a short car ride. You really can't go wrong with this booking
We traveled to Porthood for work. This property is quite large and had no problem sleeping 6 of us. The view is amazing and was a great place to relax after a long days work.
This was an absolutely beautiful property in Port Hood! Great location close to beaches, restaurants and the local grocery, amazing view, decorated perfectly. No downsides whatsoever. If you’re traveling to the west coast of Cape Breton, this is a perfect choice!

Amazing view and very clean
Great location for our Celtic Colours trip, close to the music venues in Judique.
But a highlight was seeing a blue tuna being brought into the Port Hood harbour.

Loved every moment!!
Everything about this condo and this town of Port Hood is amazing. The Condo sits atop a hill with a stunning view of the bay and Island. The town is a pure joy and beyond relaxing and enjoyable. Other towns are a short drive away and each one is unique in their own way. Great Food and great music. The Condo itself is done to the nine's. You don't want to leave it. You won't want to get out of bed in the morning, as they are Soooo comfortable! This was my first time at this condo and Port Hood, but I'm ready to book for next summer for Sure!!!... I have told my friends that.."You need to go to this place"...... Enjoy... It's beyond awesome!

Top of the World !
We booked in for a week and when we found out we could stay longer we jumped at the chance! This property is amazing. clean!, new!, full size laundry,(a big hit), but the best for last...THE VIEW! wonderful view of the ocean with a gorgeous sunset every night. We happen to be there when one of the owners set us up with a lobster steamer out back. After a 2 min. drive to the fisherman's co-op for lobster and within no time we were enjoying lobster, wine and the sun-set on the deck overlooking the ocean. priceless!

Hidden Gem
This Condo located in the small village of Port Hood, Nova Scotia is truly a hidden gem... but not so hidden! It clearly sits at the top of a hill ever so discreetly ...with a view of the ocean off in the short distance. This condo was everything that we were looking for and so much more! We began our quest from Calgary, Alberta to find a location such as Port Hood to host my daughters' destination wedding; and in our search for accommodations for the family and bridal party we found this Condo which definitely exceeded our expectations. We stayed for approximately a week and felt very much at home as it provided for many of the comforts of home including a washer and dryer. Unfortunately, cell service/reception was challenging by times but not a big deal as for the most part there was not a problem. In addition, to its wonderful view of the ocean the condo itself was very clean, well maintained, spacious and beautifully decorated, very modern and in a private setting which provided for plenty of parking. It is close to amenities and walking distance to the beach and I believe just over an hour drive to the well-known Cabot Trail. We rented three of the four available condos; the two upper condos for the family and one of the lower condos for the bridal party and it worked out wonderfully. Plenty of sleeping space and very comfortable and cozy. We especially liked the balcony that ran along the front of the two upper condos which came in quite handy during the rehearsal dinner and other gatherings throughout the time of our stay... again allowed adequate space for mingling. I believe that the upper condo on the right (as you face the condos) has a bigger feel to it perhaps due to the layout of the kitchen or may indeed be a bit larger. The owners/managers were excellent to deal with, flexible, obliging and friendly. I feel that this is the ideal location and would highly recommend it for family reunions and large gatherings or to anyone that is seeking to have that "resort" feel to their travel experience in Port Hood. Priced right particularly for larger groups! Definitely contributed to our great experience and memories of my daughters destination wedding in beautiful Nova Scotia!

luxury accommodations with beautiful views
I would most definitely recommend Port Hood Place for your upcoming Cape Breton Holiday. My family (3 children under 13) and I spent a wonderful week enjoying the condo and the sights and sounds of Cape Breton. The accommodations were clean, modern, and very comfortable, everything you'd expect from a luxury condo. The views from the balcony were postcard perfect. From the onset, the owner's were friendly and more than willing to assist us in planning a perfect holiday. Thank you! wish we could of stayed longer...:(

You won't be disappointed!
We spent a wonderful week at Port Hood Place in July of 2010, and would highly recommend it. Our suite was attractively furnished and well-equipped, and very clean and comfortable. The view over the ocean and out to Port Island is splendid and the sunsets are gorgeous. All in all, you couldn't ask for a better "home away from home" while exploring and enjoying Cape Breton Island.

AMAZING SUMMER VACATION!!
If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay with all the comforts of home this is the place to go. The bedrooms were very comfortable and luxurious, the kitchen was fully stocked with appliances/tools, etc., the decor was beautiful and practical. We have two young children that were completely safe and happy. We would recommend Port Hood Place to anyone visiting Cape Breton Island.

About the host
Hosted by Rick Gillies
Hello my name is Rick Gillies and I currently live in Windsor, Ontario with roots in Port Hood, Cape Breton. I have spent many a summer, spring or fall in Port Hood and I can say it is my favourite place on earth. The rolling hills, the smell of the sea breezes and the friendly people, all make your stay memorable. My father purchased this property just after the war and we spent summers at the small cottage at the bottom on the hill. Now my family and I have built a four-plex with spectacular views of the ocean to enjoy and share with others. This luxury condominium complex is a home away from home. I have many family members in the surrounding lands who will welcome you and assist if you need any support with your stay. Best wishes and have fun!
