Beautiful, quiet, peaceful

After seeing only the one review on vrbo, we were a little nervous. I promise this place was amazing. Beautiful cabin with tons of space. Big yard with a fire pit beside the water. Big porches with one being screened in. Amazing veiws from each. We made good use of the very good charcoal grill that is available. Very quiet place. Just a short drive from all the attractions. Host responded quickly to any questions we had. We spent a lot of time on our kayaks, which were easily put in the water from the edge of the yard. Would definitely go back again. The water levels were perfect this time of year in late june. Be sure to check on that before booking.

No lake as stated!

My husband and i picked this cabin because we were looking forward to sitting by the firepit along side the lake. When we got there, the lake had been totally drained. There was nothing but dirt. I understand Douglas Lake gets lowered certain times of the year but the online description should of told us the lake will be gone! Also, no closets to hang your clothes. There was one closet but the pole wasn't attached. The cabin itself was clean and had a fully stacked kitchen. As well as enough towels and soap. We did like the cabin. The couch was very worn and sinking in. The rest of the cabin was very nice. The lake was the biggest issue.

Horrible clogging toilets!!

The online posting is extremely misleading. It list 2+ bathrooms when in fact there is 1 full bath downstairs and a half bath upstairs. We had 6 people, 2grandparents (unable to do stairs, 2 adults and 2 children). The downstairs bathroom became clogged on 2 different occasions which left the full bathroom downstairs unusable! Plungers we’re available but did not help. The first episode, Management was notified and someone came out within several hours. The second episode, management was notified and someone was sent out the next day. Grandparents were forced to travel down the hillside to a convenience store to use the restroom. ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE for them!!! We did not ever put toilet tissue into the commodes because of the risk of clogging! This cabin should be advertised for only 2-4 people. Absolutely no way to stay with 6 people and 1 shower. However, The cabin was clean, well equipped kitchen and beautiful location

Needs updated furniture

I feel like our stay at this cabin was full of compromises. Location was fine, i hoped by late april the lake was going to be up more but we were still able to fish just had to go down the bank a bit. My bigest issue was all the outdated furnishing. The chairs by fireplace outside look like there about to fall apart, the cushions on the sunscreened deck hardly have any cushion left. The gun game doesnt work right for the kids. The couch is very uncomfortable on one side as im pretty sure it broke. The beds were so hard it was like sleeping on plywood, we didnt sleep one good night. The coffee pot was broke the 1st morning but when i contacted the property manager they did bring me a new one that day. There was a TV in the master bedroom but the cable wouldnt work in there, they couldnt get it fixed, they didnt offer to bring a dvd player or anything. They had plastic over one of the big windows in the main living room, as the window is broken out. The cabin when you walk in smells like mold, you would think with how old the cabin is and being by a lake they would have some air purifier for the home. I do not recommend if you have allergies to mold. 4 people max to sleep in this cabin.

STAY AWAY

Where to start.....no blankets, no HEAT, no coffee pot, leaking sinks and suffering smelling water. The best part was we were going to leave after maintenance came to "fix" the furnace being powered by car fuses that wasn't able to be fixed, but they said they'd bring space heaters and never showed up. It was amazing huddling under 4 throw blankets and freezing with asthmatic children and elderly parents. Still waiting on a call about a refund. Seriously couldn't have been a worse property. Jackson mountain homes did fix it the next day- but the night at this place was the worst.
