Last Minute Retreat

This house worked great for our family due to being displaced from Hurricane Helene. We stayed for two weeks and found the house met our basic needs. The view is amazing and brought many hours of enjoyment. There are minor things that would help improve the overall stay to include seating in the den that is easier for elderly to get out of. It really is a great cozy place to stay.

Weekend Getaway

Great Property! Very relaxing and the accommodations worked well. Fishing was slow that weekend, but that's out of anyone's control. I would and probably will stay here again.

Had a great weekend getaway.

Really nice place, plenty of space for family. Loved the screened in back porch, stayed a good bit of our time there. Especially morning coffee. Kid friendly, trampoline in the back was a hit.

Nice house and property

This is a cute little house located on a quiet, calm cove on the lake. The house was clean and comfortable. The yard was large and beautiful. The host was very responsive to the few minor issues we had. We would stay here again.

Lots of Family Fun at the Lakehouse

This property is in an excellent location. It's not too far from the 441 highway and Walmart. The lake view is beautiful, and the big screened-in porch is a great place to have coffee, relax, talk to friends and family, eat meals, and have fun. The dock is also a good place to gather to enjoy the kayak and paddle boat.

Perfect spot on the Lake

Our family had the best weekend trip. This home is the perfect location. The home is beautifully decorated and so cozy. We took our son on a birthday weekend trip and the kids had a great time fishing, kayaking, and playing all the games. We stay every year on this lake and this has been our favorite spot so far. We fell in love with the back porch. It was the perfect place to relax. We hope to return soon for another stay. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Thank you for letting me & my family enjoy your home.

Good experience

My husband, myself, our nine year old son and my elderly mom wanted to relax some and get away a few days during my husband and sons spring break. The TV on the screened porch wasn’t working and we could have really used another place to comfortably sit one more person in the living room but overall, we had what we needed and really enjoyed the peddle boat. Our son enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and the kayaks and the snacks and lots of little extras were all a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely lakefront getaway for a friend getaway

Overall we had a great stay, and with a bit of maintenance it would have been top notch. We absolutely loved the kayaks and the location was ideal for bopping in and out of the water all day! The kitchen was very usable and the screened in porch made for nice outdoor dinners. A few needs in the house like the water and ac filters needing to be replaced and the doorknobs being loose. Wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility constraints as the stairs from the dock into the water were rickety, so everyone in our group just jumped off and pulled themselves back up on the dock. Thank you for the R&R at gorgeous Lake Sinclair!

It is boy!!!!

We absolutely loved this property. My husband and ai arrived on Wednesday, followed by my daughter and son-in-law and done family and friends on Thursday. We had a ball fishing, kayaking and playing games. We so appreciate Tia and Robert approving our Gender Reveal party for Saturday. We had a total of 26 people and 2 dogs attend and we had plenty of room. The party was a total success and it is a BOY! The family and friends that spent the night (14) all said they wished we had another day or two. We will definitely rent this property again.

Cockroaches & Other issues

Upon entry, none of the TVs worked as all of the firesticks & remotes were missing. Contacted host who arranged for delivery of new ones, however we were not able to get them to work, and he had to send someone out the next day to get one out of 4 tvs to work. Other issues that were inconvenient are there is no bedroom furniture to unpack clothes into, no hangers, and insufficient closet space, Kitchen drawers were dirty w/ crumbs. Some of the furniture that is in pics are not there - neither are fishing poles. The games and puzzles are thrown into the ottoman storage like garbage, Frying pan unusable due to flaking, no house instructions , Extension cords and questionable outlets in the upstairs bedrooms & MB The WORST WAS THAT THERE IS A COCKROACH INFESTATION IN THIS HOUSE THAT THE HOST/OWNER WILL DENY. The second night we were there, my friend saw the first one, we notified the host, and he sent over 2 cans of roach spray. Dead roaches also noted in upstairs closet. After using the spray, we discovered 2 other cans under the sink of roach spray. On the 3rd night, while we were preparing dinner, the cockroaches started coming out from under and behind the refrigerator, as well as crawling in the Family Room. Host & VRBO was notified immediately, and we stayed in hotel that night. Next morning we returned to throw out food and collect belongings. We were only refunded for 5 of 7 days after we left. Do not recommend - AKA Bear Creek Retreat on other sites

Endless problems! Don’t go!

No instructions for anything. Tv wouldn’t power up. Unfinished plumbing issues. Thermostat wouldn’t work. Water wouldn’t turn off. Had to turn on/off through open Sheetrock taped up on wall in bathroom. This could be a really cool place, but I feel taken advantage of. Pots and pans were unusable. Had to purchase set at Walmart only to hear back from lady who was doing the work - to keep the boxes because host was going to take them back. But….. a huge delivery truck disturbance delivered brand new ping pong table. One of the things that drive me crazy was the lack of communication. They admitted they should have cancelled my reservation and it was their fault. That they’ve never had this happen in 10 years if doing this, but no refund. Not the getaway I needed. I needed peace and calm. Problems were never rectified. I left a day early. No refund provided for any part.
