Pioneer Cabin is a historic cabin which was relocated from the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church property in 2018. The cozy cabin accommodates 2 people comfortably with a queen size bed, a large bathroom and a nicely stocked kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator and toaster oven. The cabin is decorated with period antiques while providing all the modern comforts. Wi-fi and a streaming TV are provided inside for staying in touch with the world. The outdoor firepit, patio seating and grill allow for enjoying the private yard space. Please note that the driveway is shared access between Pioneer Haus at the front of the property and Pioneer Cabin at the back of the driveway. There is a fence with a gate to provide privacy between the two units. The property is directly across the street from the Pioneer Museum and also across the street from St. Mary's Catholic Church making it very convenient for anyone attending events at either of these popular destinations. Pioneer Cabin is very walkable to all of Main Street with a myriad of restaurants, shops and event venues. One block to Main Street means you can park your car on property and never have to look for a parking space in town! Have dinner at one of the many restaurants and enjoy an easy stroll home.

The inside was great, very comfortable and just right for two. Would have liked the outside to be a little more cleaned up and maybe ready for an early evening fire in the pit. We did have some plumbing issues on our second day but nothing to ruin the stay. Easy access to everything around town. The management group was very responsive and gave us all the information and details we needed. I would stay here again.
This charming cabin was absolutely perfect for our Fredericksburg stay! It is located centrally in the Historic District, so we were able to walk to many of our desired attractions and restaurants. We've already talked about booking again!
We hade a great time enjoy setting outside in the porch (having an adult beverage)The house has every thing we need it very clean very charming!Close to shops and restaurants great location We will definitely be backThanks
We had a great stay! Owner’s communication was great and she was only a text away if we ever needed anything. Cabin is one block off main street and we were in the heart of downtown within a 5 minute walk. Another good note - the 290 wine shuttle picks up on that side of town and is only a 15 min walk from the house!
The cabin was perfect size for us 2. It was clean and had an easy check in. The bed was so comfortable, shower was roomy and had a nice sitting area outside. Very relaxing and quiet. Location was great, a block from main. Close to restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay here again!!
This was a cute cabin and had everything that we needed. So perfect for our quick weekend getaway! Enjoyed the outdoor area with the fire pit. Loved it! Would definitely consider this cute cabin for our next trip to Fredericksburg.
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage Hosted by Cindy. She responded very promptly when we had question about the heater/ac unit and made accommodations available. The cottage was right off Main Street so it made walking to near by shops easy to get too but wasn’t in the thick of all the businesses of the road. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a quick getaway with a spous.
My wife & I visit Fredericksburg frequently from Boerne, and the Pioneer Cabin is at the top of the list as to location, amenities & comfort. We planned our visit around attending the Food & Wine Festival, and we were able to squeeze in a trip to hike Enchanted Rock as well as a few wineries and of course some great German/Bavarian meals & pastries. CHEERS!
This adorable cabin was exactly as listed. It’s far more roomy than the pictures suggest and the modern updates are done very well. Perfect walking distance to Main Street, nice and quiet, tucked away beautifully. Would absolutely stay here again and the property owner is super helpful and sweet. 5 stars all the way!
The entire process was super easy. The owner was quick to respond when I had a user error trying the door lock. She even offered to FaceTime with me to go over the instructions. The cabin is awesome, super clean, and well prepared for our weekend stay. The owner displays cabin history book which is really cool information. We will definitely book again on our next visit. I would recommend this cabin to any couple interested in visiitng Fredericksburg it is a block off the main street and convenient to most everything to might want to visit.
My wife & I recently stayed here, and it was definitely “as advertised”. The cabin was well furnished, rustic, private & just a short walk to W Main St. The owner was very responsive & helped us gain entry remotely due to our late arrival. Definitely recommend!
Cabin was so cute, private, clean!
! Location was close to Main St.
Will definitely return!
Property Manager was over the top helpful.
I forgot 2 things in the cabin and she mailed to me!
Impressive!!!!
It was a nice little cabin from the 19th century but with all the normal amenities of modern life (eg A/C, running water, etc). It was walking distance from stores, museums and restaurants. It ended up being perfect for our trip!
Very nice cabin. We enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean, cozy, bed was comfy, and loved the decor. The host was available if needed as the video to know how to unlock and lock the door was perfect. I have recommended it to friends.
We loved our stay at the cabin. Other reviews have mentioned it sits behind another property. That's true but Cindy gave us such complete directions and instructions it was never a problem. The location also eliminates street noise (not that there's much) and makes the property feel cozy.
Everything has been so well thought through. The cabin is full of antiques that are beautifully perfect for the space. We were there 3 days and every day coming back felt like a hug. It's so cozy and so comfortable.
It's also a fairly easy walk to all the shops and restaurants - we walked it daily and were grateful we didn't have to try and find a parking place downtown.
Overall good stay. The only thing we were not aware of, is the cabin was behind a main house. The cabin and house shared a driveway.

About the host

With long ties to Fredericksburg, Texas, the owner of this property is the Great-great grandchild of one of the early settlers of this historic town. Having sailed on the "Element" from Germany, he became one of the first school teachers while also making a living as a wine maker, inventor, furniture maker, composer and music teacher. Jacob Brodbeck was a true pioneer in many aspects. His wife, Christine was born in Germany and also immigrated to Texas with her family as a young girl.
Why they chose this property
We wanted to be closer to our roots in this historic town. We love the friendly atmosphere with so many fun events and activities to choose from. Everything is walkable from our location and we feel connected to the heart of the community here.
What makes this property unique
This cabin is unique in that you feel like you have stepped back in time and will truly immerse yourself in the pioneer spirit of early Texas and authentic Fredericksburg. Staying at Pioneer Cabin is diving into the culture and leaving with a greater understanding of the town and its early inhabitants and how they lived. Outside the cabin is the original windmill that pumped water for the family and also the water tower that held their precious water used for all daily tasks.
