Loved staying at the bumble bee cottage! So adorable and comfortable. The bathroom could use some TLC, which is why I gave 4/5 stars. Would definitely stay here again :)
I cannot say enough good things about our stay at the be humble cottage. I don't think pictures can even do this property or neighborhood justice. We were so excited to walk inside and see a beautifully decorated cottage.
Our hosts were so diligent in making sure to have an entire binder full of things to do and recommendations all around town. I wish our stay was longer but we are now customers for life for the Bee Humble cottage and community.
It was a most Bee utiful place .easy access and quiet ,could use an oyster shucker though. But we made do ok. If You wish to visit Glouster this is the place to stay, and I worked for the Hilton chain for a while and I would rather stay here any day.
I took two teen daughters for a mom-daughter weekend. This cottage is absolutely darling. It clearly shows how the hosts have anticipated needs and what would be comfortable. We’d love to return.
The place was a little further from Williamsburg than we were hoping for, but the ride wasn't bad. The place had everything we needed and was very clean. I definitely recommend it
I stayed at this property from June 3 - June 8, 2023 with my 16 year old son. We loved it! The house is adorable and so very comfortable. It was definitely a home away from home. We enjoyed the many recommendations on restaurants in the guest book in the home, and we just had a wonderful time all together. It was a treat for my son and I to each have our own king beds as well! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Such a cozy home tucked away in a quiet area. Beautifully decorated with modern decor. The most comfortable bed and high quality linens. All the little touches like the coffee and creamer that were provided made the stay stress free. The Brita filtered water was a nice surprise. We'll be back!
I had five gorgeous days in this comfortable and nicely decorated house. Many walks in the quiet community and loved seeing sunrises and sets over the Ware River. I cooked meals in with a perfectly supplied kitchen. The internet was strong for my work needs. It is convenient to Gloucester Court House with quaint shops and farmers market. Bigger grocery shopping was convenient too. It was close enough for a day in Williamsburg. I’ll definitely plan to return to Shannon’s properties.

Pro’s and Con’s to the home/stay
Pros:CleanQuietLots of dishes/pots pansComfortable beds/couch 3 TV’s (pro or con, up to you)Washer and dryerCons:*When we arrived there was no running water due to frozen pipes. Immediately attempted to call but host’s phone was off. Unable to flush the one toilet, take shower, or brush teeth until 9:30am the following morning. After a long day of traveling this was fairly frustrating. At the end of our stay I did ask if they would be able to provide a discount or refund for the first night (stayed for 6), they did provide a 25 refund and reminded me that I should be happy the heat was on and the house was warm. Thankful for the reminder.*No outdoor light at the driveway/entrance to home so if you come or go at night it’s very hard to see.*Very strong musty smell throughout the house *Chipping/pealing lead paint in bathroom*Dated, small bathroom*Well water, strong smell and bad taste, recommend bringing water for drinking and cooking*Large window in shower is only lightly frosted and very see through. If standing outside of the house it is very easy to see details of someone and items in the shower.*I did forget to add my children to our reservation and booked it as two adults (that’s the automatic default setting with VRBO) and she made sure I was aware of that that when I was discussing the difficulties with having to have all of us use the toilet without flushing all night that first night, which was due to the frozen pipes, not my un added children.
The online description and photos of the cottage were accurate. The cottage was professionally and thoroughly cleaned, charmingly decorated, and the host had thoughtfully provided everything one might have wanted or needed. The quality of the linens was above average, the neighborhood is peaceful and felt safe, and the host has done a fantastic job of making the 1934 cottage seem modern. The only con? The bathroom is from 1934 and is sized accordingly = tiny. But, if you can live with that, this is a wonderful rental. I can honestly give it a high rating and suggest to others it is a fabulous bargain for how charming it is.
The house reminded my sister and I of the house that we grew up in and felt like home from the first time we saw the picture. Like our family home it felt warm and cozy. We were pleased by the decor which was charming and comforting. It was well stocked with everything you could possibly want and was very clean and in good condition.
The location was perfect for both the wedding and dining out. The small town gave us several family-owned restaurants which we took full advantage of. We are all sorry that we will not have a chance to return to the area and stay at this great place.
Bee Humble Cottage is so quaint and charming. Shannon was a fabulous host and ensured an easy check in and that we had everything we needed. She was quick to respond to questions. Shannon has done a marvelous job transforming this house into a modern and beautiful home away from home. From the moment we walked in the door it was so welcoming. Full of inspirational quotes, surrounded by kindness, good vibes, and positivity. Everything was great! Couldn't have asked for more, except for a couple more days here! I definitely recommend this property if you are in the Yorktown/Williamsburg area. Close to everything. Very quiet neighborhood. Spacious backyard with a fire pit. Lawn well manicured, comfy furniture and beds. Well stocked kitchen. PERFECTION! I absolutely loved everything about it. Thanks Shannon!
Quiet, but close enough to all the fun. We went to Bush gardens and kings Dominion this house was in perfect spot for both so much better then a hotel.
This little house was a perfect place for our anniversary! Cozy and calm
