Adventure awaits those looking to enjoy the water or explore the surrounding area. In Spring, Summer and Fall head out in the Mad River canoe or 2 kayaks to explore ten miles of shoreline. An air compressor is available for those wishing to bring their own inflatables. Fish from the pier or venture out in the non-motorized fishing boat provided. Fish waiting to be caught include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. A public boat landing is located a short distance away for those wishing to bring their own boat.
Less than two miles away, hikers will want to head to the nearby entrance to the Ice Age Trail and take in the exceptionally scenic trail section that includes Grandfather Falls. Grandfather Falls is the highest waterfall on the Wisconsin River with a total drop of 89 feet spread out in a series of cascades over the distance of about a mile. There are some rugged sections of the trail so be prepared with appropriate foot ware and some may wish to bring a hiking stick.
