This was the perfect getaway for our family to bring our dogs. There is a fenced in area making it easy to let them out. Great communication and upfront about issues with the lake that week. There are 2 other lakes in the neighborhood so that wasn’t a big issue.
Incredible waterfront view with abundant wildlife: whitetail deer, herons, songbirds galore. The yard is great for kids' play and family sports. We enjoyed dining on the deck.
Kids who visited us loved swimming in the pool and the fitness fanatics among us appreciated running, hiking, and strolling around the lakes. Great amenities in the neighborhood.
The cottage was homey. Nothing fancy, just a good old-fashioned lake cottage. Furniture was comfortable. The smaller bathrooms were a tight fit: anyone who is heavy or who has mobility issues should be aware. (We all just shared the largest bathroom.)
We had many questions for the host and communication was excellent. Prompt responses, always friendly and just a delight to work with.
The host/property owner supplied sheets, towels, even some toiletries, which was greatly appreciated and over and above what we've come to expect from Vrbo rentals.
The kitchen was well-equipped. Overall a lovely place to enjoy the great outdoors.

Sad little house
Unfortunately its apparent that this house has been neglected by its owner. The view of the lake from the deck and living room was obstructed by the overgrown decorative grasses that you have to push your way through after going down the unstable, rotting steps. The lakeside chairs were filthy, one covered with bird excrement and the other one was rotted.
The inside was very cramped (tiny) and the carpet and furniture was heavily stained. We had to boil water on the stove to properly sanitize the dishes and couldn't shower because the "hot" water was tepid at best.
We left, disappointed, 2 nights early. While initially cooperative and willing to reimburse us for the 2 nights the owner wouldn't follow through with VRBO even after I called them at her request. The aggravation was not worth the 2 nights rent so we've stopped pursuing it.
I can not, in good conscience, recommend this property.
My stay hosted by Samantha was just perfect for what I was looking for a short weekend getaway with my dogs. The place is welcoming and warming as soon as you step in. Very cozy place perfect for family gathering. House was a perfect heaven for dogs to run around in the backyard lakefront. The views were absolutely stunning! The house is located literally right in front of the lake and the sunset is something that I cannot forget. It was so beautiful!
Since it was HOA community, we had to show our ID and get our passes to get through the gate and it was approximately 5min drive from the gate to the house. We arrived 30min early so the keypad lock was not active yet since the check in time was 4PM. However, we contacted Samantha and she gladly provided a new code and let us in right away. Samantha was very helpful with all the questions I had before the trip and also during the trip.
I won't hesitate to stay at Samantha's place again. Maybe will come back during summer time as the lake was frozen at the time we visited in the winter.
We cooked dinner at Samantha's place and the house is equipped with all kitchenware. Tons of cups, dishes, cookware, utensils for the entire family to use. We had lovely family dinner time in the cozy kitchen.
I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a nice, quiet and peaceful stay at Poconos. Also Samantha will help you with anything you might need if necessary. They are great hosts! I couldn't be more grateful.
