Beautiful home situated perfectly and uniquely on the bay- stunning views and private wooded setting. We loved watching the swans swim by every day! House was well-stocked and immaculate; perfect blend of that cottage feel combined with luxury. Excellent communication with host. So many hiking trails, nature and beaches to experience in OMP, also a very nice grocery store & restaurant just up the road. Was a wonderful, quiet winter getaway for us! Will definitely stay again; thanks Nathan!
Nathan is an amazing host and his Bluff Rd house is a perfect getaway. It’s in the heart of Old Mission Peninsula and has everything we needed. This is a five star rental, can’t wait to come back.
Great property that is very private. Cute cottage that is comfortable and has everything one would need for a great vacation. Beautful neighborhood and excellent overall location on the peninsula. Easy access to incredible hiking and the amenities of Traverse City. Would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was as listed and so cute! Plenty of amenities. We loved being so close to the lake—if only we had visiting during warmer months. Overall a lovely property, close to everything, but nestled in a safe and affluent area. We forgot to lock our car most nights and never had an issue. Highly recommend staying here!

Disappointing and left early.
Despite being marketed as a "Stunning Lake Cottage," compared to other places I’ve stayed, this one felt fairly average. The location was ideal, and the interior was clean and welcoming, but the exterior cleanliness was disappointing. The windows, patio furniture, and decorative lighting were covered in dead bugs and spider webs, indicating neglect.
Guests staying in the lower-level bedroom should note that the well water filtration system backflushes at 2:40 AM and for nearly an hour every few days. The noise woke me up, and despite the host's assurance it wouldn’t happen again, I was awakened by the same issue days later.
Guests are also responsible for servicing the hot tub with water and chemicals, but it wouldn’t heat up when I tried to use it. During my stay, I encountered four issues: the loud backflush, a broken iron, a clothes dryer not working, and the hot tub not heating. The host responded 75% of the time, but one issue was resolved - iron replaced.
I contacted VRBO customer support after getting no response from the host regarding the hot tub. Afterward, I received a message from the host, stating that “pursuant to your litany … of trivial complaints” I had the option to leave the next day and refunded the remaining night.
Every host hopes for a five-star review, but that has to be earned through attention to detail, responding to, and fulfilling a guest's concern. It's the little things that make a stay exceptional, and unfortunately, this one fell short.
Lovely cottage nestled feet from a private beach with dock. Excellent views. Quiet and peaceful. Lovely interior and artwork. Well stocked for cooking and grilling. Central to so much. The wineries and farm stands are all over. Host Nathan was responsive. Thank you for sharing this gem with people who thrive on lake nature.
We had a great time at this beautiful house on the lake. Pictures are all accurate and the outdoor area is fantastic: We enjoyed sitting on the deck, listening to the waved. Downtown Traverse City is about a 15 minute drive, but the house is surrounded by vineyards, and there is a market and a few restaurants close by. I would recommend!
Lovely Cottage on OMP - overlooking East Grand Traverse Bay
Lovely cottage, right on the water! Enjoyed the boat dock and great outdoor furniture. Nathan was very responsive. The listing needs to clearly indicate only 2 people can be accommodated.
