Beautiful property. Super clean and comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen. Within walking distance of shops, restaurants and hiking trails. Our group of 3 couples really enjoyed staying here. Onsite manager was friendly and helpful.
Lovely home and experience! Exceeded all expectations!
Every room is delightful. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to “discover” each room when we first arrived. The house has all the charm of an old Victorian home with lovely antique finds, but it definitely was not a grandmother’s old house or a stuff museum. The house is clean, bright, and comfortably furnished. I wish Crystal (or whoever decorated the house) could come help me decorate my house!
My daughter, the restaurant chef, and I were quite happy in the kitchen! While it is not huge, it is well laid out and easily accommodates 4 people cooking a thanksgiving dinner for 7. Plenty of shelves and pantry space, lots of pretty plates, mugs, and glassware, pots, pans, baking dishes, and kitchen tools.
The dining room is gorgeous! The turn-table and LPs and the candles made dinner very fancy. It was nice to have the TV upstairs with a door- large enough to accommodate everyone, but very cozy and could be closed off if others needed quiet.
Everything was just right. It was really a pleasure hosting a holiday with family and friends. There are were a lot of thoughtful touches, but I do not want to spoil all the great treats there to greet you.
Crystal is a gracious host, contacting me a few days before the start of our rental to see if there was anything we needed, and contacting me soon after we arrived.
The location is great with a small grocery store with nice produce, an ice cream parlor, a bookstore, and the DeWitt Mall (a small mall) all only a block away; Ithaca
The DeWitt Park House was exactly as pictured and described on VRBO's website - if anything, it felt bigger once inside. My husband, three adult daughters, and I rented the house for a long weekend of wedding festivities and everything was perfect. The location couldn't have been better as the Commons was only minutes aways. With regard to cleanliness, I can't figure out how a house built in the early 1800's could be so pristine and clean -- please give your cleaning crew a special thanks from us! Given our jam-packed weekend of wedding activities, the number of rooms and their spaciousness assured the comfort of the bride and our family, as well as the various guests who came and went. Finally, thanks so much to Cristal for being so responsive to all my messages. Just the BEST experience overall!
We stayed here for Labor Day Weekend 2023. The house is absolutely beautiful with thoughtful touches for the guests throughout the home. We had a group of 4 adult couples, and very much appreciated the en suite bathrooms to each bedroom. Extremely walkable to downtown Ithaca / Commons, and grocery co-op a 1 min walk away. We will be back!
Ithaca has much to offer, and this property was within easy walking distance of several of our destinations -- including restaurants and waterfalls (Ithaca Falls, Cascadilla Gorge).
Regarding the house itself, it was a pleasure to be in such a historic home. The 4+ bathrooms were a big plus for us seniors, and we were pleased that the TV was not the center of attention.
Construction next door was audible from one of the bedrooms and the otherwise peaceful backyard, but that will pass.
Overall, we were very impressed with the appropriateness of this house for our family reunion.
Beautiful, clean, spacious property within walking distance of many great things to do diwntown. My family and I were here for only a few days, but enjoyed our first visit to Ithaca and our stay here very much. Thank you for the delicious fresh baked almond coffee cake that greeted us. It was heavenly.
A Stunning Property In the Center of All Ithaca Has To Offer
We couldn't have been more impressed with this house and experience! Crystal was one of the most responsive, thoughtful, understanding hosts I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. She and her husband have created a truly gorgeous refuge in the center of Ithaca. Our group was in town for Cornell's reunion weekend and being right in the center of the Commons, or a 20 min hike up the gorge into campus, was just unbelievably special and immersive. The property is lovely with a large backyard, and house is extremely spacious, comfortable, and gorgeously furnished. We were so sad to leave and can't wait to come back!
We had such a great weekend. The house is amazing! Beautifully decorated and comfortable. The history and grandeur of this house is unbelievable. Our daughter graduated from Ithaca College, the host left her a bottle of prosecco and lovely note. Coffee, cream and a delicious pastry was awaiting us. There is nothing they don't leave for you- shampoo/conditioner, soap, toilet paper. Candies in bedrooms, plenty of towels and a beautiful garden of a backyard. We took advantage of the amazing location just 2 blocks from Ithaca Commons. Also enjoyed drinks and snacks on a beautiful day in the backyard with ample seating for our family about daughter's roommate and family. We couldn't have asked for a better home and setting to celebrate such a special day!!!
this home was perfect for our family's short stay in ithaca.
the home is beautifully appointed throughout! we also enjoyed having a record player with a variety of albums to listen to.
many thanks for welcoming us with amazing peach coffee cake, coffee, and cream in the refrigerator to start out the next day!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is beautiful inside and out. Lots of outdoor space and a nice outdoor sitting area. The pastry and coffee supplies were a lovely touch after a long drive.
The location is great especially if you have older kids with you. They can easily walk to The Commons or go grab an ice cream nearby. The cars were parked most of the weekend as we
could walk to nearby stores and restaurants.
We would definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back to Ithaca.
