Had a last minute opportunity to visit my daughter and looked at VRBO since I've always had great luck with them. Got to the property and found out that my room was 1/4 price per night. I paid VRBO more than 4 times what the hotel price was per night. Property was just barely OK. Pool was closed. Breakfast made my daughter violently ill which put a damper on the weekend. Feel stupid and taken advantage of...and yes, I am part of that responsibility so that is why I am writing this review...buyer beware...don't make my mistake.
This is a Days Inn motel off the roaring interstate, where nothing is close by. They did not have my reservation ready when I showed up and wanted to charge me all over again just to check in (notably their price was $200 less overall than the advertised VRBO rate). I had to wait for the manager to return in order to fix it. I was also given the wrong wifi passcode, and it did not work. I did not feel safe, there was nothing close by, and only because I could not cancel or reach anyone at VRBO, I did not leave. I got to witness strange people dumping items out of their cars into the parking lot, people who appeared quite transient, a fat practically naked man walking around in front of his door in only a towel, and then late Friday night an ambulance who I believe carted someone off (drug overdose?). I watched someone hang their clothes on the stair railing to dry after washing them. I guess it was laundry day. This motel is not for the faint of heart. I did not have a meal there. I chose to go into Waynesville or Asheville to find something more suitable.
