About this property
Villa Solbacka - a Swedish archipelago wonder
A historic Swedish summer villa, originally built in 1914, continuing to deliver unforgettable experiences.
Villa Solbacka is a home full of ideas and inspiration. The Scandinavian interior style, spiced with jugend, original from when the house was built, is handled to a beautiful mix, but also functional and modern as today’s guests demand.
The sunlight glitters through the old oak trees and enhances the feeling of nature being present even indoors and gives each room its own magic.
Spacious country kitchen, two living rooms with fireplaces, a library, a dining room and two verandas, both with sea views. Upstairs you have 5 bedrooms with 10 beds. You also find a newly built, generous bathroom with washing machine and tumble dryer. Altogether the house offers 2 showers and 3 toilets.
You'll find traditional Swedish tiled fireplaces in nearly each room (as well as electric heating of course, but very rarely needed summertime) The kitchen is made for culinary adventures either with your family or for a private chef to cook you an extraordinary meal. The kitchen table seats 10 people comfortably.
The greenhouse, loved by everyone, is very romantic, special made of old windows, and has grape- and tomato plants inside. Also in the greenhouse there is room for 10 persons around the table – nice for a lunch, a drink or a late evening supper! Outside the greenhouse you find the kitchen garden with fresh herbs.
The garden is large, altogether 5000 sqm and you find roses, lavender, peonies as well as wild flowers of all kinds. For the children there is a beloved playhouse and swings of course.
The location of Stegesund is only an hour by local ferry to the centre of Stockholm with boats trafficking several times a day. It is easy to go to Stockholm and back in a day. To the small town, Vaxholm it is only a 10 min boat ride, with the local ferry or with your own boat. Important to know is that Villa Solbacka is located on the island Stegesund which is only accessible by boat. We are happy to assist in transportation to the villa.
