About this property
View of the Fjord and Segla
Welcome to Fjordgård!
Our house is only a few meters away from the trailhead of one of the most beautiful hikes in Norway. You can already see the iconic summit of Segla from the house.
The house has three bedrooms. Two of them have a double bed and one has two single beds, which can be moved together. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with dining area, a TV lounge and a small BBQ hut, where you can light a bonfire while waiting for the Northern lights.
You will get great views from every window, overlooking the fjord and the mountains. During the right time, you can see the aurora or the midnight sun right from your bedroom, the balcony and patio.
Things to do
Hiking: Apart from Hesten and Segla, the most popular hikes are Barden, Inste Kongen (Kongebrua), Breitinden, Kneipen, Husfjellet, Sukkertoppen and Grytetippen.
Sports: Many tourists come to Senja to hike, ski, snowboard, kayak or enjoy a hot tub or sauna with great views. There are also several guided tours, for example boat rides, (ice) fishing tours, husky and aurora tours. You can get some inspiration of what is available during your visit at VisitSenja, but usually there are even more options if you search for tours or rentals on your own.
We might be able to rent out: snowshoes, skis, fishing equipment, SUP boards, kayaks, our hot tub (depending on availability, please enquire with the booking)
Nature: Other places that are lovely to visit are Tungeneset and the white sand beach Ersfjordstranda (it might sound weird, but some also go there specifically to see the architecture of a famous golden toilet there!). You should also stop by at the Bergsbotn viewing platform over Bergsfjorden, and consider visiting the small island Husøy and Hamn i Senja. Husøy has a cute little lighthouse, great cloudberry picking places and a lovely summer café in the school during the holidays.
On Senja we also have many free huts and fireplaces where you can enjoy magical evenings with fjord view. For example, you could check out the BBQ area at the small beach at the end of our village or the BBQ hut near the Knuten Trail Head.
Fishing: Senja is traditionally a fishing island and if you are interested in fishing, you should definitely try your luck at catching dinner here. We have some basic equipment that can be rented at the house, but there are also rental boats or guided fishing tours on Senja.
At the house: At the right time, you can enjoy the midnight sun or northern lights directly from our balcony. Especially when it pours outside, we recommend spending a cozy evening in our Grillhytta (BBQ hut). On sunny days you can enjoy your morning coffee on our balcony or have dinner on the big patio.
