Junaluska Getaway
My wife and I loved the location and wonderful lake and mountain views from the house. The lower level is perfect for a two person getaway, including a functional kitchen, washer and dryer; rent the full house for bigger groups.

Lake Junaluska
My wife and I love Lake Junaluska. The lower Armstrong apartment is convenient to the lake for a stroll. There is always room for small improvements with many of these older places and this little apartment, but it served us decently for our stay.
Had to call maintenance 2 times in first 2 days, app. Smelled of mold and mildew, spiderwebs in bedroom up and down the walls, could not use closet because of mold and mildew smell so bad, very uncomfortable furniture. We left a day early would not stay again
Property was nice but had issues with communication with property management. First it was my fault and booked a property 4hrs from where I needed to be and had asked to cancel the booking to my mistake. Never heard back from them so decided since I screwed up we would just drive the 4hrs and stay. Also sent an email stating that we would be staying at the property and to cancel my request. Arrived at the property and used the email and code sent to access property. All was going well until trying to sleep. The people staying above were very loud and sounded to be dragging furniture across the upstairs unit at 11pm. Then once we were almost asleep the fire alarm went off and said to evacuate the premises as smoke was detected in the hallway. We then had someone banging on an adjoining door asking if we were ok and then saying I hope we don’t die tonight. That was troubling so called the property management and talked to a manager and she said we had no reservation and they had cancelled our stay earlier in the day. I received the email after 11pm stating they had cancelled actually when I was on the phone with them explaining the fire alarm. The property was nice but with the issues we had I would not stay there if I had the choice. Communication was poor and if we would have known earlier we would not have driven the 4hrs.

Lots to love...but...
This downstairs apartment is very spacious for two, the bed comfortable, the kitchen & bath very nicely updated, and the view of the lake and mountain beyond terrific! Sitting on the porch swing was so pleasant. A second chair on the little deck would have been welcome. And if better thought had gone into outfitting the kitchen, this would be a 5 star review, even with the hefty $300 a night price tag! There were lots of pots & pans, but not a potholder to be found. Nor were there mixing or serving bowls and just a couple of marginal, usable cooking utensils. The dishes and flatware were adequate, but there were no wine or drinking glasses - just plastic (really, plastic?) tumblers. A $20-$30 trip to WalMart or Dollar Tree would remedy all of this!
