BALCONES CANYONLANDS PRESERVE
Our property backs up to the gorgeous Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge. With nearly 50,000 acres to explore, it's perfect for wildlife watching, photography and hiking trails of varying difficulties. Plus, the nearest trailhead for the Balcones Canyonlands is just a couple minutes down the road at Doeskin Ranch. Additionally we have onsite hiking trails for you to explore.
HILL COUNTRY BACK ROADS DRIVE • CR 328
Have a front seat view of Cow Creek’s limestone bluffs, with a leisurely drive down the winding rural road, perfect for adventurous cars and motorcycles. Best enjoyed during sunset.
HIDDEN FALLS ADVENTURE PARK
Premier Off-road adventure park in Texas. You can explore in a full sized 4x4, ATV, UTV or dirt bike.
HIGHLAND LAKES
We’re centrally located around the crystal clear Highland Lakes of Hill Country, with the nearest access point a mere 10 minutes away.
- Camp Creek Park & Schaefer Bend Park • 10 min drive • Marble Falls
- The Spot at Wakepoint • 30 min drive • Kingsland
- Lake Marble Falls • 25 min drive
- Lake Travis • 1 hr drive
- Lake LBJ • 35 min drive
The property is 100 acres, and we love having so much beautiful space, but take it from us – it’s easy to get disoriented!
By car: You'll be able to drive your car directly to the designated parking spot. While we can’t allow self-guided driving tours of the entire property for safety reasons, you’ll be able to drive the roads marked on the map provided when you arrive. There is additional signage and strategic landscaping onsite to keep you from any accidental off-roading.
By foot: Try as we might to de-rockify our paths, the Hill Country terrain is persistently rugged. As such, we highly recommend wearing closed toe and comfortable shoes, especially if you dislike stubbed toes and rocks in shoes as much as we do.
On food:
We think cooking outdoors is one of the best parts of camping, and we’ve got you covered! Right outside your unit, you’ll find your very own electric Blackstone Griddle, perfect for whipping up everything from breakfast classics to creative campsite meals. Have fun experimenting with your outdoor culinary creations!
A few tips for the griddle-inclined:
- Think classic: burgers, sausages, steaks, kebabs, etc, you can’t go wrong!
- Need to stock up? The nearest grocers are H-E-B in Marble Falls (supermarket, 20 minutes away) and Parker's Corner Market in Liberty Hill (local, 15 minutes away).
You'll have a small fridge, freezer and microwave as well, but the dome is not equipped with a hot plate or cooking crockery. If you aren’t planning on cooking, alternate food options are 15 minutes away in Marble Falls and Liberty Hill, so we recommend planning ahead for groceries and restaurant dining/take out.
Onsite Activities:
- Forest bathing aka nature therapy
- Self-guided yoga
- Ghost stories optional
- Get the Bob Ross Package
- Hang out with our mini-cows, Elvis and Presley
- Learn some bird calls
- Build something, anything
- Explore a new hobby. Tell us what you’re into, and we’ll help you get started!
** Please note: Cell reception and wifi can be spotty. We're happy to point out the best "phone booth" spots for the former, and we are constantly working to improve the latter. We appreciate your patience as we perfect our little piece of the wild. That said, in the meantime, we do urge you to embrace the option to disconnect when possible. We've found it can be quite liberating to go missing for a little while :)
Missing Hotel is our dream, the culmination of thousands of experiences fueled by a relentless pursuit of adventure, creativity and growth. Now, we want others to reap the benefits of our discoveries. This is not merely a hotel, a stopover, a self-help course. It’s a reprieve. It’s a space to regroup, explore, create, process, breathe more easily, and feel genuinely looked after. It’s permission to go MISSING for a while, trusting that when you return home, you’ll be better for it. We strive to create a 5* experience for all of our guests! If there is anything that needs to be addressed during your stay, please reach out!
Only Registered Guests Are Permitted on the Property.
Up to two well-behaved, potty-trained pups can accompany you for a $75 fee. We ask that the pup is never left alone in the unit and is always on a leash outside.

Manifesto
We're not a big company, just a couple in love, with a baby girl and a golden doodle.
After traveling to 50 countries and staying at thousands of properties, we’ve learned a few things about what makes a place memorable for both the right and wrong reasons. From luxury hotels to stopover AirBnBs, overwater bungalows in Fiji to shared rooms in Cuba, we’ve had plenty of awe-inspiring stays and a few disastrous ones. Too often, though, we’ve simply been disappointed. These places over promised and under delivered, or worse, they looked at us and saw dollar signs instead of people.
Missing is the remedy for that. Imagine a place that makes you feel like your experience is the only thing that matters. A place that thinks of everything, so you have the space in your mind to explore what matters most to you. A place that inspires and provides the means to help you turn those ideas into something tangible. A place that embodies everything with purpose, including you.
Throughout our travels, this is the kind of place we were missing. So, we decided to create it ourselves.
This isn't our first rodeo. This time, though, it’s more personal. Missing Hotel is our dream, the culmination of thousands of experiences fueled by a relentless pursuit of adventure, creativity and growth. Now, we want others to reap the benefits of our discoveries.
