The Plaid Bear

This was our 2nd stay in this beautiful cabin, we brought our grandkids last year and they requested the same cabin. It’s perfect for kids and adults. So many towels which I truly appreciate and everything else you need for a great stay. Thank y’all so much.

Anniversary Trip

We loved our stay at The Plaid Bear! The views out the floor to ceiling windows were breathtaking, especially with the fall colors! The location is convenient to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The hot tub was wonderful. We were disappointed the fireplace did not work, but hopefully that will be fixed soon. It is a beautiful place.

A Week's Getaway - October 2024

The property was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. It is nicely furnished, we had everything we needed as far as dishes, cups, pots, pans, utensils, etc...We enjoyed the peace and quiet while hanging out on both decks. We loved the loft bedroom and bathroom. The lower level bedroom and bathroom were also very nice. We also enjoyed the hot tub. We even played some of the video games, which was fun. There is another cabin next door but that didn't bother us. We never saw or heard any of the occupants. We did have a deer come by for a visit one morning during our stay. It's a short drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The host was very accommodating and answered all questions promptly. The only drawback we had during our stay, was there was an issue with the properties propane tank which kept us from being able to use the fireplace. That was a bummer. If you are planning on staying during the winter months, and there might be a remote chance of snow, make sure you have a four wheel drive, the initial hill coming off of the main road is substantial. I would recommend staying here.

Just Book It!

This cabin is AMAZING! It is even better in person. It was super clean and furnished so well. The loft bedroom is wonderful! I could have spent my whole vacation upstairs in the loft. The shower was wonderful. The tub was amazing after spending the day in the mountains. The remote-control fan was the icing on the cake! Great host, excellent communication, breathtaking cabin. Just book it! You will not be disappointed.

Literal PERFECTION!

There isn’t a single complaint I could think of about The Plaid Bear. I’m a hospitality professional, so I tend to have an eye for things in rentals that aren’t exactly perfect, but for the first time ever, I found nothing! We go to Gatlinburg twice a year, every year, and this has been by far my favorite cabin we have ever rented. From the appearance, to the cleanliness, to the bed/bath linen - pure perfection. Kari has also been phenomenal and responded to our every question or request. I can’t wait to return!

Outstanding stay at the Plaid Bear!

This lovely cabin was more than we had hoped for! The quiet location, beautiful accommodations and wonderful communication with the owners made our stay perfect! Beds were so comfortable, televisions aplenty, decor was modern rustic, loved all the woodwork throughout. We enjoyed playing pinball machines and foosball and relaxing in the hot tub. It was the perfect getaway and can not wait to return to this beautiful property! Thank you Kari!

Beautiful secluded plaid bear

The drive up to the cabin is interesting, but the cabin is worth it. The pictures do not do it justice. We really enjoyed our stay and would rent again if in the area.

Beautiful cabin

The cabin was pretty amazing! The beds were super comfy which made it was hard to get up in the morning. The view made you feel you were in a treehouse. We would definitely stay here again! The Sorrells

If you are a picky traveler, you need to read this review.

First, we have both traveled a lot, and we are very picky. I read A LOT of reviews before I book a property. This place was absolutely amazing. I have been to the area many times, and this is the best cabin I’ve stayed in. Very clean, well stocked, awesome use of space, and beautifully decorated. The owners do not cut corners or cheap out on anything. One weird travel thing I do is check the toilet paper. If it’s good toilet paper, you know you picked the right place. That signifies the owners take pride in the home, and care about you enjoying your time. Silly? Yes, but it’s tried and true. It was me, my husband, and 17 year old son. I had been thinking about taking a trip for a couple months, and kept picturing a cabin with a bunch of windows, relaxing by the fire and watching it snow. We didn’t see any snow in the forecast, but it was a good time from work, so we went anyway. News forecasted a small amount of snow here and there but didn’t expect more than a few minutes if it snowed at all. We woke up Saturday morning and it snowed for 2-3 hours and it was everything I pictured and more. Plenty to do, or nothing to do. It’s all up to you. Anyway, I hope this helps the picky travelers choose a little faster and stress a little less. I wish you many blessings and loving memories for your trip. We have plenty and will be back to make more. ❤️

Amazing views

My husband and I had an amazing time at this rental. The pictures don't do it justice, it's absolutely beautiful in person. The hard work that the owners have done definitely shows. The cabin was so clean and homey. You will not be disappointed in choosing this property for your stay. Far enough away to feel secluded but close enough for an easy drive. We hope to return in the future!

Family fun

This has to be one of the nicest places I’ve ever rented. It was beautiful inside and out. The majority of what we need and wanted was included. It felt like home. Look forward to coming back in the future.

We have lived in Tennessee for over 20 years! We couldn't be more proud to call this place home! The beauty is unprecedented! We are parents and grandparents and love our family and life! We think it's important to treat others the way we want to be treated.

Why they chose this property

The Plaid Bear is such a pretty cabin with all the open windows and views out along with the large gathering space. We love the feeling of retreat you get there...you can hear the birds and all the sounds of nature because it's far enough off of the main road and sits on almost an acre. But, what makes it magical is that it is just a short jog to all the action! It is everything a cabin in the Smokies should be...R & R, with tourism appeal for the go-getters!

The huge plate glass windows bring all of nature into the gorgeous large great room. The cabin boasts of 2100 square feet with no wasted space! The king beds in the two rooms are comfy cozy and passed our persnickety scrutiny! We sleep here too! The furniture is all so comfortable...the kind you can sink into and relax in. We provided some fun board games and a puzzle of the Smokies to put together if the weather doesn't cooperate. The Cabin is absolutely adorable on the outside with red tin roof and red door. You will be charmed by it as soon as you pull up!

Some fun extras: A brand new hot tub, two great arcade games, a foosball table, 4 very large smart flat screen tvs! We didn't spare any fun or leisure! We hope you enjoy it like we do!
