The cabin was larger than the pictures suggest and there is a ton of natural lighting! We had a guest with slightly limited mobility (uses a cane) and she was able to maneuver the property well. We had a 2yo guest and she had a blast in the jacuzzi bath with the bubble bath. We did bring our pack-and-play for her as there was not one provided, but there was plenty of space in the bedrooms for us to put it. They do have a regular drip coffee pot in addition to the Keurig seen in the listing pictures. There were a couple friendly small to medium-sized dogs that came up to the cabin to say hello when we were outside. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
What a wonderful weekend and such a charming place. We were able to fully relax on the porch. I loved the hot tub! The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner; however, we will be coming back! I love that place!
Spacious accommodations, plenty of linen/towel’s available, rustic and charming house. Enjoyed our stay, and host went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs.
We were very pleased with our stay at this property. It was very peaceful. It is out of town, but not too far, off the road enough, but not too much, just a very relaxing place. It is very clean and spacious, inside and outside
The house had a cabin in the woods feel to it and the property was well maintained. When we got there the a/c was not working so I sent Gloria a message that night and she had someone there the next morning and he fixed it. We really appreciated that. Our daughter was graduating from UK and the location was perfect.
I grew up outside of Irvine and was excited to come back down to Kentucky (from Indiana) with my Husband, 2 adult daughters and 3 Grandsons (first time visitors) for my grandmothers 80th Birthday celebration. I scoured the internet for days to find the perfect cabin/home that represents my beautiful Kentucky when I found this whimsical home outside of Winchester tucked in the hills. It was private and cozy, We loved the decorative quilts and the farm theme while feeling we were in a cabin. There was plenty of room in the large yard for my 5 and 6 year old grandsons to play and run and my 13 year old grandson to mope. We had internet, television and all the modern comforts to keep everyone entertained while keeping the country feel. Plenty of sleeping spaces, 2 restrooms and a huge jacuzzi tub. Everything was extremely clean. My husband made a huge breakfast one morning and said he would have liked more cookware options but he made it work. The ovens, countertop stovetop and dishwasher worked. We used the gazebo with dining tables and a working propane grill (stocked with extra propane) We even had a vacation dog who visited and my grandsons loved her, my 6-year-old was terrified of dogs and she helped show him dogs can be nice. She was very sweet and we believe she snuck over from the farm next door but she does love belly rubs and never overstayed her welcome. There was even a carport at the end of the private lane to keep our vehicle. 5 stars
We had a terrific stay! The home was absolutely gorgeous with lots of amazing antique pieces perfectly decorating it. It was a bit chilly, but we made the most of it sitting with blankets on the the large front porch. Our dog loved exploring the property just as much as we did. One morning, we went into town and had breakfast at the Lucky Dog. It was a delicious and our dog was allowed in and fed lots of bacon! Overall, if you like peace and quiet, if you want a large area to explore, and you want to feel comfortable and at home, I highly recommend thos spot. Thanks so much to Gloria for your lovely home!
We visit this town every September for a weekend away to honor our friend who passed away in 2020. We are like sisters and we loved having a beautiful peaceful place to be comfortable and relaxed in. We hope to book next year here!!
Great & quiet getaway - 40 min from Red River Gorge
Very secluded great place to stay. Well decorated farm house 40 min (seemed shorter) from Red River Gorge.
On the positive - most of the house seemed newly renovated, new fridge, although other appliances were old they worked just fine. Plenty of amenities, salt, pepper, spices, condiments, pots and pans, towels, utensils etc. We loved the porch and the gondola area, great outdoor areas to unplug.
On the negative, there was barely a cell signal and Wifi was very bad. Homeowner was going to have AT&T technician look at it after we left. Not a place you'd be able to "work remotely" if needed. Also, the king bed is very firm which was a negative for me, but it didn't bother my wife.
Overall, a great little place.
mornings in rocking chair with your favorite cup of coffee, roosters and tons of birds flying and chirping cheerfully or sunsets on the comfortable sofa with view on meadow are juts the best part of this renting!!! We truly recommend this house!!! Perfect country get away weekend!!!!
We had a wonderful time at this property. It is private, quiet, well appointed and beautifully planted. The owner was very responsive when I had questions. I highly recommend and would visit again and again.
