Perfect located: calm and idyllic above the sea - holiday house Lakonia, Pelopon

The comfortable detached house ALEXIA is surrounded by magnificent bougainvillea, banana plants, orange trees, fig and olive trees and offers a wide view across the Laconian Bay and the picturesque village Gythion. The house is set close to the idyllic Valtaki Bay in a beautiful hillside location on a terraced garden property with innumerable flower pots and various terraces that create an atmosphere of quiet peace and harmony. The comfortably and nicely furnished holiday house is built on a gentle hill covered with olive trees and is perfect for a great holiday. From the large front terrace you have a wonderful free view across the sea and the first headland of the Mani region.
The two-storey holiday house is at the end of a quiet dead-end road and can be accessed via some steps. Colourful bougainvillea plants are lining the entrance of the property. On elevated ground floor is the spacious living room with a high wood-panelled ceiling. Adjoining to the living room is the half-open kitchen and the bathroom. From the living room you have direct access to a large roofed terrace with a wonderful sea view. A wooden staircase leads from the living room to the first floor. On the open gallery above the living room there is sleeping area, another more bedroom and a toilet
There are several terraces to the side of the house with cosy seating possibilities that give you privacy and retreat. Directly behind the holiday house is a small storing and appliance house.
The fine sandy beach directly below the holiday house does not welcome you with loud music and snack bars. Here you can quietly enjoy the clear water and the sand dunes. There is a tavern above the beach, half –way to your holiday house that offers good Greek cuisine. The location of the holiday house is ideal for excursions as is the gateway towards Mani, but also towards the neighbouring eastern finger of Laconia and Monemvassia and the beautiful island Elafonissos. Don´t miss out on the byzantine Mistras that lies further towards the north.

We really enjoyed this beautiful house in a unique location. The view from the terrace (which can also be seen inside the house) is fantastic. Sometimes you can even hear the waves of the sea. The village of Gythio is close by, but the tavern at the bottom of the street also has great food. The owners of the house are very nice people and really make you feel at home. The house was very clean and fully equipped. We would like to stay there again.

In reality it is beter than pictures Situated on the peninsula of Mani on the Pelopponesis, out of the flow of tourists (also in august), very well equipped and close to all services you could need (car needed to get to Gytheio, but restaurants and beaches can be reached walking) The owners are very welcoming and warm, with a big care for all details. A delightful house with an amazing view. The owners are clearly very artistic. Everywhere you look there's a little touch of personal artistry. An arranged group of stones, careful lighting, here a wall decoartion, there a different aspect of the view down onto the bay. Super. The intruder alarm gave us a little (noisy) problem for a few hours, one day, but it was finally fixed and silence was restored.... the nearest shops are in Gytheion, a few km to the west (drive, too far to walk), but there is a seasonal taverna close by (400 m). When we were there (early October in the Year of The Coronavirus), it was very quiet and the range of food was limited; but it WAS good. The beach with the shipwreck is close by, but maybe not the easiest to get into the sea, because of the nature of the shoreline. However, if you walk to the left, along the main road, on leaving the villa - there are a few narrow sandy bays off the road which are just perfect. I didn't have the enthusiasm to get up in time to walk tothe shipwreck for a sunrise photoshoot... but we're thinking of staying there again during this trip, so maybe next time I'll get up in the dark and go for that walk.

Perfektes Haus und hilfsbereite Vermieter
Das Haus ist hervorragend ausgestattet (u.a.Muckengitter anfallen Fenstern) und bietet von verschiedenen Terrassen aus einen wunderbaren Blick auf das lakonische Meer. Die Vermieter haben uns herzlich empfangen, in einer akuten Notlage haben sie uns prompt "gerettet". Wir kommen wieder.

Nach einer Tour durch den Peloponnes haben wir zu dritt eine Woche in den Ferienhaus verbracht. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse auf die Bucht war einmalig und wird uns lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Auch das Haus selber hat uns nicht enttäuscht. Das Haus ist sehr komplett eingerichtet so dass es uns an nichts gefehlt hat. Haus und Grundstück sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet bzw. angelegt. Die Übergabe war absolut unkompliziert, da das Ehepaar gut Englisch sprach.

Der Meerblick ist wunderbar und die Lage ist gut geeignet, um Ausflüge in die Mani und nach Monemvasia zu machen. Schöne Strände sind in der Nähe bzw. gut zu erreichen. Die Vermieter sind sehr herzlich und erklären ausführlich „ihr Haus“.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Urlaub in diesem bezaubernden Haus mit seinem traumhaften Meerblick! Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt, liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen Selbstversorgerurlaub benötigt, so daß man auch als Flugreisender mit beschränktem Gepäck bestens zurechtkommen sollte. Die Besitzer, ein sehr nettes älteres Ehepaar, das auch ein wenig englisch spricht, kümmern sich sehr aufmerksam um das Wohl ihrer Gäste – verwöhnen mit selbsthergestelltem Olivenöl, Plätzchen oder Marmelade und haben immer ein offenes Ohr, wenn man noch etwas braucht. Sie kommen regelmäßig vorbei, um Bettwäsche zu wechseln, sauberzumachen und den Garten zu gießen (Zeiten können abgesprochen werden). Noch ein paar praktische Hinweise: Die Terrasse ist mit zwei Stoffmarkisen vollflächig fest überdacht, mäßiger Regen wird dadurch gut abgehalten (bei uns hat es auch im August einige Tage geregnet). Zum benachbarten Haus Amanda besteht durch Büsche ein guter Sichtschutz; Gespräche in normaler Lautstärke sind aber von der jeweiligen Nachbarterrasse aus gut zu verstehen – dessen sollte man sich bewußt sein. Unterhalb des Hauses ist eine kleine Badebucht mit Sandstrand und ruhigem, flachen Wasser – gut für Kinder und Nichtschwimmer geeignet. Fußweg ca. 400 m, Zugang neben der benachbarten Taverne, zu der der Strand gehört. Gegen Konsumierung eines Getränks kann man Liegen und Sonnenschirme kostenlos nutzen. Die Taverne selbst ist ein sympathischer Familienbetrieb mit gutem Essen und moderaten Preisen (manches steht nicht übersetzt auf der Karte - einfach fragen!) und manchmal Familienfesten mit Musik bis in den Morgen hinein… Das Haus ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung des südlichen Peloponnes (für die antiken Stätten im Norden ist wegen der mehrstündigen Anfahrt ein Standort im Norden wahrscheinlich besser geeignet). Gythio (ca. 15 Autominuten entfernt) ist ein authentisches kleines Hafenstädtchen, in dem das Leben auch im Sommer noch den Einheimischen gehört. Es gibt alle nötige Infrastruktur (Supermärkte, Ärzte, ausreichend Tavernen um den Hafen herum…), ohne jedoch „touristisch“ zu wirken. Wer Urlaub unter Griechen abseits der großen Touristenströme sucht, ist hier richtig. An dieser Stelle auch ein großes Dankeschön an Jassu-Reisen für ihre Unterstützung bei der Fähr-Umbuchung, als Minoan-Lines unsere Überfahrt gestrichen hatte!

Ein wunderschönes, sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus, in dem wir uns sofort wohl gefühlt haben. Die vielen Blumen im Garten sind ein Traum, genau wie der Ausblick von allen Terrassen auf den lakonischen Golf. Die Aussendusche ist super. Von den sehr netten Vermietern wurden wir mit Olivenöl von eigenen Bäumen, selbst gemachter Marmelade und Plätzchen empfangen. Zur kleinen Sandbucht mit glasklarem Wasser sind es nur ein paar Schritte - also erstmal jeden Morgen vor dem Frühstück eine Runde geschwommen. In der Taverne nebenan gibt es leckeres Essen. Gythion ist ein lebhaftes Städtchen, freitags auf Bauernmarkt kann man frisches Obst und Gemüse aus der Umgebung einkaufen. Großartig ist auch der endlose feine Sandstrand, der kurz vor Skala beginnt. Auch die Mani kann man schnell erreichen. Wir hatten eine tolle Woche!

Das Haus liegt wunderschön oberhalb der Bucht von Gythio. Die Vermieter sind äußerst freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Die Abwicklung des Check-In und Check-Out lief reibungslos. Ausstattung und Aussehen entspricht den Bildern bzw. der Beschreibung der Homepage. Die Wohnlage ist sehr ruhig, hier kann man richtig abschalten vom Alltagsstress. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier Urlaub machen!

We werden heel hartelijk ontvangen door de landeigenaren. Het huisje is liefdevol ingericht met oog voor detail. Er stond home-made olijfolie en jam klaar, koekjes en er waren wat verse bloemen neergezet in de woonkamer en slaapkamer. Erg attent!! Vanaf het terras heb je prachtig uitzicht op de zee. Er zijn meerdere terrassen rondom het huis en een heerlijke buiten-douche met warm water. Er is een goede keuken met schone, fijne pannen en voldoende ander kookgerei. Aan alles is gedacht. Het enige minpuntje is dat er geen WiFi is. Zelf had ik ook slecht bereik met mijn telefoon in en rondom het huisje, gelukkig mijn man niet. In de omgeving is veel moois te zien, mooie stranden, leuke dorpjes. Wij hebben ons een week lang goed vermaakt.
