You will find a fire pit and charcoal grill for your personal use! Avenwood Cabins offers private cabin getaways in the beautiful Wayne National Forest. Our woodland escape ensures relaxation while providing modern amenities. Each cabin boasts state-of-the-art hot tubs with a view of the forest, queen-sized beds for guest comfort, air conditioning for those warmer months, WIFI and Roku-equipped televisions to keep you connected, and of course a pet-friendly environment for your fur babies!

Very nice cabin

Hot tub was great, cabin was perfect for getting away and very clean. Manager didn’t respond to VRBO messages or send check in information prior to us reaching out but was very quick to respond and helpful once texting the associated phone number.

Cozy!

The space was cozy and clean. The setting was pretty. There were minor challenges with communication (no response via VRBO, I had to look up the property info for a response) and the shower temps were a challenge.

Romantic get away!!

Exactly what we needed!

Overall it was a great experience with no inconveniences whatsoever. Fast communication between property manager and myself. Definitely will be booking sometime again soon!! If you are looking for a quiet place to get away from life then this is definitely for you!!

I loved that I could take my dogs with me for hiking.

I loved the hot tub. Not as much privacy as im used to when staying at cabins. They were close to each other. The hot water in the shower was hard to find. But it was very peaceful there. I wouldve loved loved if it had a full size couch though in there!

Issues with our stay

Not a bad rental once we got in, no wifi, cable remote only 1/4 of the time, hot water was lacking in the shower. Had no code to unlock the door. Had to look up the number on Google. Communication of host is lacking. When we finally got ahold her where we were staying and she gave me a code without confirming it was my reservation.

Dogwood Run

Cabin was fine. patio rocking chairs need replaced, furniture was fine. Shower hot water only worked if you had it on the cold setting, no directions in the cabin about that issue. communication with the host was terrible. Issues with internet and wifi. Never received directions for access to the cabin before arriving. Tried emailing, messaging and calling host with no responses Thankfully Vrbo agent was able to assist us.

Rough Start

The biggest complaint we had is it was after check in time before we had any contact with the property manager. I had even emailed them previously to ask about a later check out. I even had to contact Vrbo for help multiple times. We were about to cancel everything directly with Vrbo and then I received a text from property manager right after hanging up with them. Our second complaint was the internet worked very little during our stay. As far as the property goes. We had zero complaints. It was perfect. And we want to come back.

Cozy and secluded

This is a perfect place for a small weekend getaway. The hot tub was fantastic and the fireplace really made the night toasty. Perfect for a couple looking for a small cabin in a wooded area.

Nice place, working hot tub, couldnt figure out off the app how to get into the cabin. Found another cabin with a number on it that we were able to use to get ahold of the property manager.

My wife and I stayed at Dogwood Run with our dog for our anniversary in June of 2023. It was our first night away from our baby and we were looking for something special. This cabin was not it. There was black mold all over the laundry hamper in the bathroom and the sink basin in there had been so poorly installed that water ran down the side of the vanity cabinet, causing swelling and, quite possibly, more mold. The floor in the cabin was buckling up in the center. The cabin wasn't level, so head of the bed was lower than the foot. Worst of all, for us, the hot tub died after a single use. For what it's worth, property management offered to send someone out in the morning to repair the tub, but, since we were only there one night, we opted against it. The only pros here were the quiet and how responsive management was to our single, greatest issue. The cons heavily outweigh these. Really, I've hemmed and hawed over leaving this review and what kind of rating to give this cabin. But, truthfully, we had a terrible time and the cost of our single night stay was far too high for these cons to be reasonable. Were it not such a mean thing to do, I'd honestly give this place 1/5 stars (which is what my wife wants me to give). If management fixes the issues with the cabin, you might have a good time! But, as it stands, I'd caution you against going, especially since there are so many wonderful cabins in the area. We won't be back.

A Great Experience!

The cabin was warm and cozy. It was secluded, but it also had many opportunities around it for food, coffee, hiking, etc. The contact info for the host was readily accessible. Great all around!
