Charming Cottage with Expansive Hudson River Views
The Swan Cottage was built in 1923 and was fully renovated in 2020. The idyllic location, on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River, is the perfect perch to relax and get away from it all. The front porch is a nice spot to have a cup of coffee and watch the sailboats on the river, while the huge wraparound porch affords terrific views of the river as well as the forest that gives this home a feeling of being high in the tree tops.

The home is beautifully set up and maintained. The space is cozy and the view is spectacular! Checking in and out was easy! Great antique and coffee shop just a short walk from the house. We will be back!
It was a wonderful and magical place. The interior design was lovely - so clean and luxurious. The beds were very very comfortable and the owner was very easily accessible at all times.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. I could not get enough of the beautiful view of the Hudson River. The home is situated in a quiet, safe neighborhood and is close to shopping and restaurants. The home was clean and had everything that we needed. We would stay at this property again.
This home is very cozy, comfortable, clean, and extremely charming. The views of the Hudson are stunning and the neighborhood is peaceful. Maria is very sweet and responds to any question very quickly. I would definitely recommend this place. We look forward to the next visit! Thank you Maria!
Our stay couldn't have been better! We're two friends who were celebrating our birthdays and were here for a relaxing week of vacation. The cottage itself, the amenities, host, and location were all great. It's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with lovely views of the river, five minutes away from Kingston (where we saw a concert at the Ulster Performing Arts Center, had a top-notch dinner at The Brickmen, and shopped at the vinyl stores). Maria was a perfect host and we loved seeing her son and adorable dog playing in the yard in the mornings. Thank you!
With three of us coming from MA, NJ & NYC, the Kingston area was the perfect meeting place.
We were thrilled the house in Port Ewen was THE PERFECT HOME BASE for our weekend away. Charming, cozy & convenient. Thank you!
Beautiful location, wonderful host, and incredible place. The host even brought us fresh bread from her favorite local bakery! Really personalized touch!
Such a gem of a cottage. Maria did a great job designing / renovating the cottage, and was super responsive to our requests. Was well stocked. Would recommend staying.
The property was exceptionally clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable. My best friend and I spent all weekend sitting on the porch catching up. The purpose of our trip was not to visit anywhere but relax and visit with each other. This property with it's covered porches was the ideal place (due to rain). Maria was very responsive to any questions I had. Everything about the property was relaxing and will definitely be on the list for a repeat trip.

About the host
Your host
I was born and raised on LI to Greek parents. I fell in love with the Hudson Valley when I was in art school at New Paltz and was compelled to return again and again. In 2010 I returned to the area and opened my own restaurant, Boitson's. In 2022, I sold my business and now I spend lots of time with my family and friends. I love to antique, travel, work on the houses and explore the beauty of the Hudson Valley. I have been a highly rated host on another platform for many years. Hospitality is in my genes, and I love to have guests visit my cottage and the region.
Why they chose this property
I was very fortunate to find this very special property before the pandemic, and managed to close on it on Friday, March 13, 2020. After a long scary time of not being able to work on the houses, I managed to rebuild the cottage and make it available to guests. There are 2 brand new bedrooms, a brand new kitchen, and fully redone walls, windows, doors and more. It's been a true labor of love and I am so happy to share it with guests.
What makes this property unique
The view from the cottage is truly spectacular. Every season has its charms, and the river is visible all year long.
