Everything we needed and more. Comfortable, great location and face in yard. I knew there is a person living in the basement but never saw them or heard anything. Highly recommend!
Stayed with our 9 month old and two dogs and had a wonderful time! The home is very open and my little one had a great time cruising the house. Dogs had a fenced in yard out front which was amazing. Highly recommend!
We found the house comfy and cozy. Plenty of space in and outside. We had our 2 dogs that loved the fenced in yard. Don and his wife were wonderful hosts and we appreciated all they did for us. Enjoyed evenings around the fire pit and would have liked to stay longer!
The house was immaculately clean, the beds were so comfortable and everything that you could need was provided. The hosts met us at the house and showed us around and were very friendly and helpful. We came for the Common Ground Fair and the location was good, plus it was close to China Lake which is just beautiful. Even our dogs were well accommodated with an extra bed and dog bowls. We look forward to returning next year

The only negative thing about this property is the need for more gravel/walkway between parking area and front door. It was raining the days we were there and the children brought in a good amount of mud into the house on their trips from the car to the house.
Don and Gail are the very best. Could not have asked for anything more. They had provided everything you would possibly need. Wonderful to work with. I highly recommend them and their home! Thank you for making it a wonderful stay.
It was great for the 2 grandmas who helped me with college check in.

China stay
The home was comfortable and nice. It had pretty much everything we needed. We especially liked that there wasn’t carpet everywhere. The field out back was pleasant, it would be amazing if there was an exit or access through the back of the house to that area, but no biggie.
A couple of short falls:
1. A more structured plan for arrival would be helpful, such as a key code entry, or a hidden key as we were coming clear from the west coast by train to NYC and rental car and trying to time a family visit, but not knowing exactly how we would access the home until just a couple of hours prior. The property owner was flexible and told us a couple hours prior that he would leave the door unlocked for us so it worked out fine in the end.
2. Learning just prior to our arrival that a relative was living in the basement was a surprise. Some people may choose not to stay there based on this, but we didn’t have that information. It ended up being fine, we never actually saw the relative who lives in the basement, but you’re still always kind of wondering. In our minds we were thinking that this is the stuff horror movies are made of.
3 The fuse that operates electricity in the bathroom blew and we were easily able to reach the owner. He couldn’t get there until morning, which was fine since it was evening and we didn’t really need it. We could have flipped the breaker on our own, but it was in the basement where we could not access it.
It was a nice quiet location with fenced in yard for kids or dogs. Very comfortable beds and furniture. Ample supplies in kitchen and bathroom. Very nice hosts just a call away if need anything. Was a very nice place to stay!
Very nice place clean and the owners are really friendly and nice they have everything you need if you forgot something that is there dog friendly nothing else better
Don was a pleasure to work with. He went out of his way to make our stay very enjoyable. The home was in great condition and had ALL of the necessary amenities with quite a few extras. The location is perfect for access to the lake as well as local needs and attractions. We were visiting with family and had room for many to visit at one time. The grill and jukebox were a tremendous bonus. We will definitely be back!

The place is very homey. The owners were very generous with the supplies. Checking in and out were easy. The owner Don was very responsive to our calls and texts. The washer and dryer are much appreciated for my family of 5.
We would definitely reserve the place again if we travel there in the future.
This property worked perfectly for us to get family together but they all could go home. Not sure we'd really vacation there but for holidays, etc. it's great for us.
Don and Gail are outstanding hosts, and genuinely nice people. The house was exactly as listed and in a great location. The beds were comfy, the huge bathroom was great and the jukebox was a nice, quirky touch. Our stay coincided with the December Blizzard of '22, and Don and Gail were gracious enough to let us extend our stay so we didn't have to travel during the storm. We hope their home becomes our go to Maine home away from home.
We absolutely loved our time here! The pups enjoyed it as well. The owners thought of everything possible. I have never felt so welcomed and comfortable at a rental before this one. We will be returning in the future, there is no doubt in my mind!
My experience was very pleasant. The place was very pet friendly and provided many things for my dog to include toys and even shampoo for her. The fenced in yard was great for her to stretch her legs. Overall it was a great stay and would recommend.
