with 3 common areas to lounge in and a large kitchen this property is very enjoyable for small groups of friends or family. We were there in colder weather so did not have an opportunity to enjoy the outdoor amenities.
My brother and I brought our kids to Gaylord for a junior golf tournament at tree tops. The 4 of stayed at mellow yellow and really enjoyed it. It is on the right side of town for going to tree tops, but very close to downtown so we could walk to dinners. Perfect location and comfortable home at a great price.
Old school house. Exactly what the pictures and description showed. Great location for walking downtown Gaylord to many great restaurants and events. Also in great place for golf - Treetops and Boyne. Petoskey is a simple 40 minute drive. Would stay there again!
Cute home. Convenient location. Spacious. Stocked with linens and toiletries. Beds comfortable. Lawn needed mowed. Need better cookware. Would be more presteable if the very old carpet was removed and the curtains were hung properly
Great vintage vibe, felt clean, and had comfy beds. Not a fan of the carpet in the upstairs bathroom, but it fits the theme. Perfect location- would stay again!
Mellow yellow is a great place to stay! It was so cute and convenient
Mellow yellow was decorated in a 1967 style but with all the modern conveniences, just 1967 look to them. We went skiing and we were three minutes from the ski lodge. The rooms were huge the furniture was comfortable. The towels were high quality, everything we needed was there. I would definitely stay there again.
Loved this house so much! Nothing but positive things to say! The space, decor, and "step back in time" (in a good way) feel! Clean, comfortable beds, spacious kitchen & living room.
Everything on our agenda was within 5-10 minutes away! Walked to a nearby park a few times. Owners respond very quickly. Highly recommend - would definitely stay here again!
Six brothers and sisters, and some spouses, gathering again to the area that continues to call us from time to time. Our local family members joined us for some meals and as we sat around the big oval table that was stretched out to it’s max it truly felt like “home”. The space throughout was perfect, warm and welcoming. Thank You Nikki and Chad for creating and sharing such a wonderful walk back in time, God willing we hope to return again in the spring🙏

A little disappointed
Overall, the house was as described. It is spacious which was great for my 20 month old grandson who likes to move around. We most likely would not stay at this location again, however, due to several disappointing things.
The day we arrived, it had snowed. We had to shovel the driveway to park and the walkway up to the house in order to unpack our car. No big deal, but it would have been appreciated if it had already been done after our long car ride.
Some things about the house that we were disappointed with....First, it was not clean. I know many reviews said it was but this time that was NOT the case. There was noticeable dust on the furniture especially the shelving upstairs in the lounging area. The kitchen lighting has numerous "things" inside them. When we took dishes out of the cabinet and drawers, they were DIRTY! Several pieces had dried food stuck to them. Also, we wanted to give my grandson a bath in the tub. We decided we should probably clean it first due to the other situations mentioned. When doing so, it was as if the film in the tub needed a scrub brush to get out the scum layer. Needless to say we did not put him in it. The hot water tank only holds enough hot water for 4 people to shower in a row...just be forewarned if you have more people. The upstairs gets very hot even with the thermostat on 64 degrees while downstairs is chilly...be sure to pack slippers.
Finally, there were very few staples in the kitchen; i.e. sugar for coffee
