The house and location were great and we very much enjoyed our stay.
We did have some problems with the Pool/Spa. Initially the Spa blower only worked occasionally and finally stopped working altogether. Turned out to be a failed Blower Motor which was replaced and worked fine after that.
Also the Pool/Spa Heat Exchanger stopped working during our last week. This was due to an internal wiring harness coming loose and being damaged by the fan. This was quite rapidly fixed and then worked fine.
One minor note on the house was that there was no Food Waste Disposal in the Kitchen which we found unusual.
Our family enjoyed our stay! Pool was fabulous and property was beautiful. My husband had to work- so the home office was perfect for him. Neighborhood was quiet and neighbors friendly.
We loved the house! It was comfortable with plenty of space. The pool and outside seating was so enjoyable. We bought bait nearby in Matlacha and caught several fish from the dock. Jim, the property manager, was terrific - friendly and very helpful. The neighbors were also very friendly.
Any negatives were fairly minor.
- We couldn’t read the house instructions which were in German but Jim answered any questions we had.
- The TV was set up for streaming which didn’t allow us to watch local news or network TV.
- I was surprised to find out afterwards that we might be charged for electricity (no additional charges in our case).
It was a great home in a great location and we hope to stay there again!
Overall it was great! Beautiful home and great location. Would definitely recommend for medium to large sized families. In terms of constructive criticism we wish there had been more clear instructions regarding the pool & spa heat. We also would have liked instructions on how to put the t.v. in English. The house instructions we had were in German and we think having an English copy would have been beneficial, but this was a very minor issue.
Great house on the canal near the exit to the Matlacha pass and Charlotte Harbor (by water). It's perfect for relaxing or as a jumping off point to SW Florida activities. We fished and golfed and loved coming back to this HQ for 2 weeks. Thank you for being great hosts.
This was the perfect property for my family and my brother's family to stay rooms were on opposite sides of the home so you still had your own space. The Lanai and pool was so relaxing. Just a beautiful place all around.
I book this lovely house a week before arrival. When we arrive, we can see that a house is being built on the neighboring plot. I write to manager Mike and tell him that I am not satisfied with not being informed about this construction project. My wife and my daughters-in-law don't feel good by swimming in the pool in a bikini while there are 6-8 craftsmen who can see them. I get this answer: "Since we have long days and construction usually dies at around 5 pm we hope you still have enough time to use the pool without being watched by these guys". unprofessional. For information they will in the near future start building a new house on the other neighboring plot. Rico Nielsen Denmark
We switched up our plans at the last minute and I found this home on VRBO. They are new to VRBO so it didn't have many review which we typically shy away from. But we took a chance and we are glad we did. We have rented homes from VRBO for the past 15 years or so and this home is close to the top of our list of favorites. The location is fantastic. Close to a Walgreens/Publix/gas station. The neighborhood was incredibly quiet. We absolutely loved the mornings and evenings sitting poolside overlooking the salt water canal. We saw a dolphin right next to the boat lift as well as a sting ray and other cool looking fish. The pool/hot tub were to notch. Our only recommendations would be to put a TV in each bedroom and to create an instruction binder in English (current one is in German). Also it wasn't indicated on the listing that the customer pays for the electricity for the week. I actually didn't mind that because it gave us the leeway of how cold we wanted the AC or heating the pool/hot tub. We would definitely rent this home again.
