Unique Rustic Log House in Jardine, Montana

Enjoy the relaxing and fun atmosphere of this one of a kind log house. It is tucked in the mountains at the “end of the road” in the old mining town of Jardine, Montana, which is 6 miles northeast of Gardiner – the north entrance to Yellowstone Park. This place offers a nice balance between seclusion and easy access to endless sightseeing, wildlife viewing, and outdoor recreation opportunities.

This property is located near an outfitting business, Specimen Creek Outfitters. They offer horseback rides, as well as pack trips and hunting trips into the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness.

The North Fork of Bear Creek is only about 100 yards below. It is a beautiful mountain stream and the fishing is good! Nights are quiet and peaceful. And the night sky is brilliant – take time to gaze at the stars.

This house is rustic and has lots of character. It is clean and cozy, but the layout and decor aren’t too fussy or uptight. The original portion of the house was built in 1994 with logs skidded out of the forest with a team of Percheron horses and peeled by hand. It includes an open kitchen with appliances and dishes. There is a deck where you can kick back and take in the scenery. One bathroom has an antique clawfoot tub. There is a loft/bedroom with a homemade queen size log bed. There is a nice sounding old piano for the fun of it.

A versatile 'great' room, which includes a bar (with sink, fridge and TV) and a full bathroom was added on to the house in 2001, and it is ideal for entertaining and hanging out. There are antlers, tanned hides, antiques, etc. throughout the house – sort of a wildlife/western theme. There is a large yard with trees, a picnic table, and a firepit. The native wildflowers are beautiful and plentiful. And various species of birds and wildlife will share this property with you.

There are also two convertible sofa beds in addition to a bedroom and the loft. The unique floor plan of this home can easily and comfortably accommodate a group of 6. This property is kid friendly and your well behaved pets are welcome too!

Amazing and perfectly removed from the hustle and bustle

Our stay at the cabin was nothing short of excellent. When we arrived it was cozy and welcoming. It was fully stocked with every kitchen item you could even think of needing. The cabin was much larger than I expected and was the perfect place to return to after long hours outdoors in Yellowstone and the surrounding area. Fall was settling in when we arrived, and we were able to warm the cabin up with a fire in the evenings. If you want to fall asleep to the sound of rushing water in the creek and with views of thousands of stars, this is the cabin for you. I cannot recommend it enough.

Mountain Heaven

The cabin was perfect. Supplied so well, we needed very little from the grocery store and loved the cabin so much we never ate out the entire time we were there. From the CD collection, to the decor, down to the bedding, everything was absolutely perfect. We are already making plans for our return trip.

AMAZING PROPERTY!

Looking for a quiet, remote get away? This beautiful cabin has it all. Well equipped, comfortable, and stunning views. Close to Yellowstone and yet a short drive to get away from the crowds. The road leading to the cabin can be a little rough, but well worth the drive. I highly recommend this cabin!

Unique log cabin

A short drive from Gardiner, this hand built home feels like a cozy Montana hideaway. Every detail is anticipated. It’s very well stocked. We stayed in late September and built fires in the stove each night which amply heated the home. My favorite part is the location, just steps away from Bear Creek and great hiking trails. If you like log cabins and mountain cozy, you’ll love it here too.

Cabin on top of a mountain

The cabin was cute and rustic. Road to the cabin is very steep and rough. 4 wheel drive recommended. Kitchen was well stocked, comfortable beds. Wood stove is main heat. Area is beautiful.

Such a beautiful place, wonderful rustic home, stocked better than any other rental we’ve been to. Becky and Lloyd are great hosts, happy to help. Location is so close to Yellowstone so much better than staying in Gardner.

This cabin is great, it is well stocked and has everything you need. The only downside might be the distance from Gardiner up a mostly gravel road but otherwise no complaints.

This cabin is great! Clean and fully stocked. Lovely remote location but easy access to the park. The hosts were very nice, and Lloyd checked in to ensure we were ok. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely like to return.

Excellent Stay

The cabin was fully stocked with everything that you would need. Beautiful setting in the Montana mountains. Bear creek is about 100 yards down below the cabin. Probably could trout fish when creek is down. Family was here 2nd week of June and it was 38 degrees at night and 68 degrees during the day with low humidity. Horse back riding is close by. My Grandson and myself had a great horse back ride up in the mountains. Becky was very responsive with any needs. Lloyd is a good man who gave me some history of property & area. Hope to go back again and stay longer the next time. Thanks Becky and Lloyd for my family having an outstanding stay.

4th time renting Becky's cabin. Saw more wildlife on this trip than the previous 3. Shhhh. Dont tell anyone about this cabin.

Just fantastic

From the first minute we drove onto the property to the sad day we had to leave everything was just perfect. The cabin we stayed in had everything and more we needed. Lloyd came and introduced himself and let us know if we needed anything to let him know. He is an exceptional man that grew up on the properties and has a life story that will jeep you wanting to hear more stories. The area was so quiet sitting on the front porch was relaxing. If you’re going for Yellowstone you’re 15 minutes from the north entrance. Feel free to walk the property there is so much history about the property to see and explore. We will definitely be back. Fabulous Mountain Cabin

Absolutely wonderful place. Everything you could possibly need for your stay. Highly recommend! The host was very accommodating, accessible, and pleasant to work with. If you’re looking for a quiet, slightly off the beaten path, up in the mountains spot, this is it. The quintessential log cabin.

Great place

Property was clean, Kitchen perfect for cooking meals.Beds were comfortable and owner had everything ready for us to enjoy our stay. Wood stove had wood ready to go to have cozy cabin in just a few minutes. We spent our days exploring Yellowstone and the cabin was just minutes from park entrance. beautiful cabin exceeded expectations but road was a problem

The cabin was beautiful and well situated in the forest. Quiet and so peaceful! We had a lot of rain so weren't able to enjoy the outdoor amenities which were cute. Very welcoming and there's everything you could want - even the fireplace was prepped for a fire! Lots of space! I'm an experienced fire pit user so managing the fireplace in the daytime was easy but didn't know how to set the damper to keep warm overnight. We didn't have internet most of the time so written instructions would be helpful to be added. We drove a minivan which was not really suited for this road and the tires were slipping on the last incline to the cabin. It may have been just the weather and, obviously, the road is not the fault of the property owner. The 6 miles up to the cabin will take about 20-25 minutes drive time each way and we hadn't realized that.

Fabulous!

A nice quiet mountain retreat from the busy days we spent in Yellowstone and the Gallatin NP. Everything is provided. We were very comfortable. If you want a mountain vacation this is your place. Fishing, horseback riding, hiking, wildlife and more. Montana people are friendly and kind. I hope to return one day.

Remote And Quite Location

If you want a really nice clean remote quiet location, this is it. The road up can be a bit of a challenge as the county does not grade it often, but that is not the owners fault. The place was fantastic for my family and I.

Perfect place for family with teens!

Very comfortable cabin. Mom, Dad, 18 yo son and 15 and 13 yo daughters. Close to town and Yellowstone but far enough away. Very memorable vacation.
