First impression was home was clean and bedrooms as expected. Good location, close to lake Michigan and restaurants.
However there was an extremely musty smell in the home especially near the back of the house. Was not aware there was not central a/c, probably my fault for not confirming. The portable units were really loud and not available in all 4 bedrooms. Only one out of the two toilets worked, which was not ideal for 7 people sharing one toilet. Property manager had a death on family and responded that he would have it fixed, but did not. The fire pit was full of garbage including watermelon rinds, and cigarette butts so we were not able to enjoy s'mores as planned with the kids. Lastly, the house was on a very busy street and we could hear traffic all night.
Everything we needed was supplied! It was thoughtfully stocked with all essentials and so many extras! There are lots of activities, board and arcade games, cards, pool etc so if your trip is compromised by weather you will still have things to do. The back yard is great for good weather activities.
The stairs are steep and have a handrail on one side only, making it less accessible for the elderly. The upstairs bathroom is small but divided so the using the shower still leaves the rest available for others. It is located within one bedroom that has a low mattress, great for kids.
The finishes are updated, attractive, comfortable and demonstrate real care was used in setting up the home for use. Having small night lights within each power outlet makes it easy to get around in unfamiliar space even at night. The home is on a busy street but seems very secure. We had no problems at all in this home and appreciated the full service feeling it provides.
Thank you from grateful renters!
We loved the house & fenced in back yard. The house was very clean. I wouldn’t walk around in the neighborhood but in the house & yard I felt very secure.
Very close to everything. Lots of space for everyone. Cute set-up in the yard for eating. We played the video golf and laughed and laughed!!! It was a lot of fun.
Adorable home with great amenities! The home was set up well for our family of 8 and enjoyed by everyone! Communication with homeowner was excellent!

The house is just as pictured. 4 bedrooms worked great for us, Mom’s and teen girls. Downstairs living room fit our two air mattresses so all the kids could sleep together and each adult had a bedroom. Not central air conditioning but the window and floor units cooled the house great! The upstairs bathroom is in one of the bedrooms, so whoever sleeps in there needs to be ok with people coming in and out of their room during the night to use the bathroom. There is also a larger full bathroom on the main floor. Fenced backyard has a nice fire pit area with plenty of seating, grassy area and outdoor lighting. The driveway is shared with the neighbors, but on this properties side we easily fit 3 vehicles. It is a busier street. The neighborhood isn’t one we would let our girls walk around in, but the house and yard are secure. It’s about a 15-20 minute drive to the beaches. The Deck was great for dinner one night and Pete Marquette beach was beautiful! We did have an issue with the property not being cleaned before our arrival. The beds were left unmade. I contacted the host and he promptly let me know there was a mix up with his cleaning company, apologized for the mistake and refunded me $50 for the inconvenience. There is a washer and dryer in the house with laundry soap and dryer sheets available. We just washed sheets ourselves and Clorox wiped everything down. We were satisfied with how he resolved the issue, mistakes happen! And besides the beds not being made, the rest of the house was in good shape. The kitchen could use a few more coffee cups, there were 2 available. Over all we had a great time for the two nights we spent here and were satisfied with the property and how the host handled the issues we had.
Owners did a great job updating an old house into a great space for a group getaway. There are multiple AC units throughout the home that kept it nice and cool despite the 90°+ heat. Plenty of space and bedrooms for multiple people.
My family stayed here while going to Michigan's Adventure which is only 15 min. away. We also went to P.J. Hoffmaster's State Park which was about 15 min away as well and was a wonderful beach experience for us.
We all loved the game room and would wake up to play before heading to the theme park for the day.
Something to know is that both bathrooms are connected to a bedroom. The downstairs bathroom is off the bedroom and kitchen with two doors. The one by the kitchen is a sliding barn door which was fine for us but could be awkward to be using the bathroom with others in the kitchen because it doesn't close like a normal door.
Also, the upstairs bathroom is inside of one of the 3 bedrooms. For us, this was fine - we just put our heaviest sleeper in that room but if you're staying with people outside your family or people who want more privacy, that is something to consider.
Again, for our family, this was not an issue for any of us and all of the accommodations were wonderful and added to our amazing family getaway. We're hoping to make this a regular summer tradition - house, park, beach - perfection!
The house is on a busy road, but the sidewalks are wide and within walking distance to many places. This is the best place we have stayed at yet on our trips to Muskegon. The house is older, so it's not perfect but lovely, clean and much bigger than expected. With bathrooms on two levels, multiple bedrooms, a great kitchen with updated appliances and a lovely dining room. The owner was incredibly responsive to messages as well. Will definitely recommend this place!
