About this property

Mountain Top Cabin with a View that is Centrally Located in Western Carolina.

Juke Cabin is great place to relax or be adventurous in the mountains of western North Carolina. Our porch offers an incredible view where you can relax on the outdoor sofa or rock in the rocking chairs. The porch is kid/dog friendly with a gate enclosure to prevent sneaking off! Meals can be enjoyed on the porch table or inside on the dining room table. Enjoy the indoor fireplace on a chilly night or outside at the firepit on summer evenings. The kitchen has been fully renovated with all new appliances and granite countertops. The kitchen cabinets an antique "wormy chestnut" that were made locally over 50 years ago and have been restored to maintain the mountaintop cabin feel.

Juke Cabin is centrally located between Cherokee and Asheville, North Carolina. Hiking can be done nearby in the Great Smokey Mountains or Blue Ridge Parkway. Countless waterfalls are located nearby including Dry Falls, Mingo Falls, Looking Glass Falls, High Falls, Turtleback Fall and Rainbow Falls. Visit nearby Dillsboro or Sylva to grab a meal or drink at a local brewery after shopping at the local artist galleries. Jump on the train in Dillsboro and ride it through the Great Smokey Mountains to Bryson City. Visit nearby Cherokee, NC where you can visit the Cherokee Indian Village, see elk, watch the play Unto These Hills (an outdoor drama retailing the Trail of Tears), or try your luck at Harrah's Cherokee Casino. Take a day trip exploring the Great Smokey Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Kayaking, tubing and white water rafting are just a short trip down the mountain in Dillsboro or in Bryson City. Ziplining is a fun adventure close to Juke Cabin too. There are several gem mining locations nearby that is always fun for the kids. Asheville is just an hour away. We are happy to offer suggestions on things to do that involve kids, dogs, grandparents or families.

Or, just sit on the porch with a glass of wine or cup of coffee while enjoying the view to recharge your batteries!

We have enjoyed our cabin for over 16 years with babies, kids, teenagers, grandparents and dogs. We can offer a variety of suggestions on places to see, visit, eat and hike for any age group - with our without dogs too!

Absolutely Fantastic!!!

The only thing that could have made our stay better was if it were longer! The cabin was even better than advertised, secluded, quiet and very homey. Michelle was outstanding from the start, and squeezed in the third leg of our honeymoon tour on relatively short notice. Everything you could think of was provided, and if you bought enough groceries you would never even need to leave the cabin (we did anyways though, and the local shops and restaurants were delightful). My wife is in love with it and can't wait to go back, and neither can I. Literally the best VRBO/AirB&B we've ever stayed in! start, and

Beautiful Mountain Oasis

Traveling to the cabin: It's a climb up to the cabin, but honestly, the road isn't bad as far as mountain roads go. There are no intense switchbacks and the road, though bumpy, curves gently. We were in a Hyundai Tucson and had no issues. Slow and steady and you will be just fine. Location: So easy to get to from the highway. It's a short journey to town to get groceries. About 1 1/2 hour journey through the national park to get to Dollywood, about an hour to get to Asheville. The property: I booked the cabin for the beautiful garden. The fire pit area was so nice with the market lights overhead (and has some yellow lady slippers blooming around it! We used the wildflower book provided by the owner to identify some flowers which was fun) The cabin: Is SO peaceful and quiet. The porch is heaven and you can listen to a symphony of birds. The furniture is comfy, as are the beds. The kitchen is stocked for simple meals. The hot water LASTS (and feels so good after a hike). The towels are fluffy. The games are fun to play (we played DogStax every night at the table) and the books provided are fun to peruse. The TV is satellite and worked great. The Wifi didn't want to cooperate during our visit, so it might not be best if you are booking to WFH, but we enjoyed the cabin so much, it became hardly missed. I highly recommend booking if you need some rest, peace and beauty.

Loved our stay

I chose this for the Mountain View, and it fulfilled that expectation perfectly. The porch is awesome filled with comfy furniture to relax and enjoy the view. I liked the privacy and the serenity of the location. The host is very responsive and helpful. We only went out to eat one day during our stay and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, using the grill, and eating at the table with the gorgeous views. Beyond that, I loved this section of North Carolina. We will definitely be coming back next year. Lots of hiking and waterfalls in the surrounding area. The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad in Bryson is easy to get to and well worth the ride to the Nantahala Gorge.

Serene and peaceful

Juke Cabin is perfect! From the scenic drive up the mountain to our welcoming arrival at the cabin. The cabin is updated with beautiful features. The bathrooms and kitchen were immaculately clean. The king size bed was very comfortable! Deck view and surroundings were breathtaking. We didn’t want to leave! Plenty of firewood for both inside and exterior fire pit. We will definitely come back to this cute gem. Michelle, our host was very accommodating and easy to reach. Thank you for our wonderful weekend getaway!

Mountain Getaway

We had a wonderful time at Juke Cabin. First of all communication with Michelle was excellent. She answered promptly and made us feel very welcome in her family's vacation home. It was very peaceful and the long range views were beautiful. Slow and steady wins the race when you drive up. Don't be nervous. We hope to return someday.

Magical View

We have been coming to the area for about 10 years and always look for a place with a view, this was the best so far with the covered porch. Morning coffee rain or shine with a view. For this property you should have 4WD or ALL-WD, you could make it up the road with 2WD but will be a little scary if you are not a skilled driver because you will need speed to overcome some of the turning inclines. Overall this was one of the best places we have stayed for the pricing excellent value if you treasure tranquility. Dish network and internet are a little sketchy, DVD movie rental at redbox or plan on reading a book while at JUKE. Do not plan on quality internet here. I viewed that as a positive to unplug mostly for the time we were there. Over all I rate 9 out of 10...

Beautiful Long-range View

A beautiful view overlooking the mountains. The back porch to enjoy the view is great, an extended living area! Very comfortable accommodations for my husband and me. There is a pond feature next to the house with a water pump, so you'll hear the trickle of water. I think there were even salamanders in it! Make some homemade hummingbird nectar, and a pair of hummingbirds will hang out at it. There is also a gazebo up the driveway with a swing. We also enjoyed the firepit one night. We made a loop drive to Cashiers to Highlands to Franklin and stopped to see some waterfalls along the way and stopped at Cliffside Lake where you can walk the trail around it and then went to a brewery in Franklin. The Jackson County Greenway near Sylva was also a nice walk along the river. It is a very relaxing and peaceful cabin and I would definitely recommend it!

Perfect mountain cabin

Beautifully appointed cabin high up on a ridge makes for wonderful views. The large porch looks out over a whole series of riders going off to the horizon. The colors change with every hour! Porch has a gas grill ready to use we cooked steaks on two nights. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit for a relaxing evening. Plenty of firewood already cut and split. Inside, the cabin has full bedroom and a full bath on both first and second floors. Kitchen is great with new appliances and large table and chairs for six people. Even a basement with games and washer/dryer. My wife and I thought it was perfect! The ride up the mountain is steep, so be sure use low gear. AWD would be a plus.

An amazing view

We were amazed at the view from the beginning. The cabin was big enough for a family of 4 and 2 fur babies. The cleanliness really caught our attention, especially the fact that we did not see one spiderweb, my daughter is terrified of spiders. Our dogs loved the porch and it has an added bonus of a gate. The drive was comfortable and Michelle really explained all we need to do. We will definitely go back and recommend it.

Lovely views

My husband, mom of 91 years old and myself stayed very comfortably here. My mom had the downstairs bedroom with it's own heater, we had the upstairs bedroom which had 2 queen beds and a balcony. This room was cozy and quiet. Loved the balcony. The cabin was lovely and well decorated. My mom uses a walker and she got around very well. We will definitely come back. Thank you Michelle for your hospitality.

Incredible view, perfect getaway

This was such an incredible place to stay for a long weekend! The view is amazing, and the house is stocked with everything you’d need. Be sure to bring your own food, as there is not a grocery store close by. Also, it is a bit of a rocky drive up the mountain, so a car with all wheel drive is best. Still possible with a small sedan, but we had to take it slow. Absolutely worth it, though! I will be recommending this to my friends and family.

Welcome to Juke Cabin. Our family has been enjoying our mountain retreat for 14 years. Our kids and dogs have countless memories of spending time relaxing on the back porch, waterfalls, tubing, ziplining, picnics, hikes, gem mining... This list goes on and on. I am very happy to share suggestions on things to do for kids, families, couples and dogs. We are a dog friendly cabin.

Why they chose this property

We have done our best to provide a mountain cabin with modern features. Since we are located at the top of a mountain, our TV and internet are provided by satellite. Our kitchen has been fully updated to include granite countertops, new sink and faucet, stove and oven with air frying, microwave and refrigerator. The "wormy chestnut" cabinets were restored and are original to the cabin. We have an AC unit in the loft that cools the cabin. Since we are at the top of the mountain, the temperature is 10-15 degrees cooler than at the bottom of the mountain. We recently updated the flooring and provided a full-size ping-pong table in the basement.

We provide plenty of firewood for the fireplace and outdoor firepit! The porch is where most people spend their time. Take your pick of the outdoor sofa, chair, rocking chairs or dining table to unwind while enjoying the view. We have gated the porch so little ones and pups can't escape!

What makes this property unique

MOUNTAIN TOP VIEWS! We are centrally located between Cherokee and Asheville at the top of the mountain with an amazing view. We are situated between the Great Smokey Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Waterfalls, hiking trails, whitewater rafting, tubing, elk, gem mining, shopping, breweries and restaurants are all located nearby. We are happy to share suggestions for our guest based on your needs - that includes kid and pet friendly adventures!
