About this property

North Old Town, private - humble, peaceful and serene—guest quarters.

Our Charmhouse property was originally a farm, and sits way back away from N. College Ave, surrounded by pastures. We share the property with you, but respect your privacy (and also available if needed). Please read all the description to make sure this is a good fit for you. We are 1.5 miles from Old Town Square, and 3 miles from Colorado State campus, and 5 minutes from the wonderful Cache La Poudre River. Deer and other wildlife visit our yard frequently. The main house is occupied by us, but your humble space is the private (locked and secure) back portion and entire upstairs of the home. It is a simple place, and we hope you can appreciate the serenity. No parties allowed. This a NON smoking property. There is no AC, but lots of fans. The large garden space is shared, but generally the paver deck along the fence is enjoyed by the guests, and side yard/deck enjoyed by owners. It’s on two acres, so quite a bit of room! We have a horseshoe pit by the front pasture. There is a small no-cook kitchenette (city ordinance) which includes a microwave, coffee pot, small refrigerator, and toaster. Fort Collins is a foodie and craft beer haven, so you can enjoy Old Town restaurants and breweries and heat up leftovers once home. There is bar-top seating, a small kitchen table, as well as outdoor picnic table with lounge chairs to enjoy our peaceful setting. We have a work desk area, and wi-fi. It has limited “lounging” space in the unit, and lots of space to stretch out outside. Fort Collins is recognized as a top bicycling city, with many trails across the entire city. The Bike Co-op is a block away for bike rentals and also Ken’s Mufflers a block away for bike rentals. The Cache la Poudre River is designated “Wild and Scenic” and white river rafting is available on the river up the canyon, while locally, you can enjoy tubing, swimming and fishing within minutes from our home. The Whitewater Park is a mile away. The iconic “Lyric” is a block away. It is an outdoor movie theater and music venue, and we can enjoy their music heard in our backyard. Colorado State University has a beautiful campus and Flower Trial Gardens. Visiting #Ramily parents and prospective students are welcome! Rocky Mountain National Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Denver are within an hour’s drive. Horsetooth Reservoir is a 25 minute drive where you can enjoy water sports, hiking and picnicking. Summer is heaven here! The property is happily shared with deer and other wildlife, so we regret it is a NO pet site. Just a gentle reminder, (we appreciate you reading this far!) this is our home and we so enjoy hosting our guests, but please don’t give us a poor review when we clearly list that this is a simple, humble, no kitchen, no air conditioning, delightful space. Welcome!

It's a bit tight

Bedroom were nice, but that's about all you have access to. The VRBO is a "granny apartment" where the only common areas are the mudroom, a small downstairs hallway and the hallway connecting the bedrooms to the single bathroom, which doesn't have an over-sink mirror. There is no couch, no dining table, really no place for more than two people to sit together anywhere. The refrigerator is a small dorm-style unit with no freezer to speak of (the ice trays never fully froze for example). Essentially, you're getting two connecting small hotel rooms with beds and chairs only, and one small TV in the "master". If all you want to do in the place is sleep, you're golden.

North College Vrbo

This is a quirky location and space, with all the basics you need for a comfortable and simple stay. It was ideal for us because of the location (near our destination) and the outdoor space for our bikes. The relative seclusion was a perk.

Great host!

My brother and I had a wonderful time staying at this house. The owner/ manager of the property was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, and gave excellent advice on things to do, breweries to visit, places to eat, and so on. Thanks for everything!

Simply Charmed

This is a beautiful property in an awesome location. We cannot say enough good things about our host, Susan. She really took great care of us and put so much thought into her property and hosting. She helped with food/activity suggestions, along with offering things like sunscreen and towels. The house was clean and very cute, and had great amenities, along with lovely gifts from Susan such as chocolates, fresh fruit, and local beers to try. There are adorable bunnies hopping all around. The location is close to many outdoor activities along with shopping and eating in Old Town. We had a super relaxing and enjoyable time during our stay and would recommend to friends and family.

Unplug to enjoy nature

I had a wedding to attend in Fort Collins, CO. I chose this property for it’s proximity to the downtown area, but private location. Checking in was simple and there was a carport available to park under. The cute farmhouse apartment had more than enough space. Our host was very friendly and helpful. I would happily return to this location to enjoy its tranquil hospitality.
