Rich with rustic charm and modern comfort, this delightful cabin offers a prime slice of lakefront, Maine living. Sitting on a small hilltop near the shore, this two-bedroom-plus-loft cabin is surrounded by naturally growing birch, spruce and cedar trees. Large boulders, left by the receding glaciers, can be found scattered around the common-area grounds. A wooded walking path winds down from the cabin to the shore of Prong Lake.

From sun-up to sun-down, the expansive, private deck is a great place to take in the property's natural beauty. Fire up the gas grill for a backwoods barbecue or whip up homestyle meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. In the evening, spread out on the living room sofa for game nights and movies on the flatscreen TV or head down out to the wood-burning firepit for fireside gathering under the stars.

Fantastic cabin on the pond

Very spacious, lovely location - surrounded by trees, fantastic view to prong mountain from the pond-side deck (tho the view from the cabin itself is more of the treed surrounds, with water glimpse), carefully sited so the next door cabin does not overlook. Equipped with all you need - they have clearly listened to previous reviews as there was a kettle, coffee, and salt and pepper! beautiful tranquil stay.

Relax in the woods

We’ve been coming to this cabin (or its sister property) on Prong Pond for a decade. The whole family looks forward to the trip each year and it never disappoints. The cabin is comfortable and well appointed. The pond is beautiful and you can enjoy it easily from the dock or using the canoe & kayak provided. Tons of nearby hiking and whitewater rafting is only an hour or so away. Whether outdoor adventures or relaxation is what you’re looking for, this cabin is a great option.

Peaceful cabin lovely pond

This cabin was pristine and perfect for us and our small dog. There’s a bit of a hill climb up and down to get to the shore, but the path was well kept and we needed the exercise! Loons and eagles entertained us daily. Close to Lily Bay state park (beautiful!) and Greenville, plenty to keep kids and outdoor people alike busy. We were thrilled to get a chance to relax on a lake.

Sisters week

The cabin was clean. The towels were nicely stocked. The beds were comfy and the blankets warm. We sat on the dock and around the fire pit looking for shooting stars !

Great place, quiet and clean

We had a lovely stay at Prong Pond. The property is quiet, and although there are two cabins next to each other, they still feel private. About 6 miles outside of "downtown" Greenville, just the right distance away. The pond was quiet when we were there, perfect for paddling. Amazing scenery and wildlife, although we didn't see a moose, which was one of our goals. Great vacation!

Great base from which to explore Moosehead Lake region

We’ve been staying at Prong Mountain (or it’s sister cabin Birch Overlook) for a decade now. We love returning to Prong Pond for the quiet relaxation, many great hikes in the area, and occasional wildlife sightings. It’s a comfortable cabin for up to 6 people, and quite spacious for our family of 3. The post 2020 updates of private fire pit and comfy sectional are great. And the Wi-Fi works well (both a blessing and a curse).

Perfect place to relax and enjoy Maine

The place was perfect. Prong pond was fun to explore with the kayak and canoe. Early morning and evening paddles were the best, plenty of beaver activity to spot. The picnic table and chairs on the non-water side of the house were great for star gazing at night, not too many bugs once you’re away from the water. Great location to explore Moosehead Lake, and close enough to get into town for groceries

Another wonderful stay at Prong pond

Our third stay at Prong Pond. Great time paddling on the pond with the kids using the canoe and kayak. Did some nearby excursions to Little Mouse mountain, Number 4 mountain, and Spencer bay. Cottage was clean and comfortable. The upgraded couch and addition of a Keurig coffee maker was greatly appreciated.

Great little cabin!

We enjoyed our stay at the Prong Mountain Cabin. This cabin is one of three cabins on the property. This cabin is right next to the Birch Overlook Cabin. The listing will have you believe your cabin is in a private location, it is not. The cabin was clean and spacious. The cabin is located on Prong Pond, which is a very clean pristine Maine lake. The canoe and kayak were great!

Property, yes! Vacasa, no.

Overall, a great property and a relaxing visit, with poor communication/customer service from Vacasa. I won’t get “into the weeds” about our issue, but good service has one take responsibility where due, and act QUICKLY to make things balance equitably for all. I would not rent from a Vacasa property again. I loved that there was firewood on-site/included. The property is not quite as accessible as I thought it would be--just an FYI for anyone else physically disabled. It’s not the property's fault, there’s just a lot of stairs up to cabin, and a lot down to the water/firepit. I recommend you bring extra fans. As others have said, the cabins are closer than the listing leads one to believe (just an FYI). We chose this location as dogs are allowed—it’s a great place for dogs! The original listing said it had on-site, coin-op laundry. It does not. Many of the items listed as property amenities said “nearby” following, but the line about the coin-op laundry did not. So, we had to wear dirty clothes for two days in hot July, which wasn’t fun. I would absolutely return to this property again, but probably not if Vacasa is running the show.

Don’t stay here because we want to make sure we can go back 😜

First of all we went up with our two dogs one big guy and one little guy and they had i’ll blast as our neighbor in the Birch house also had his three-year-old female got a walk tremendously with our dogs and played the whole week very relaxing week despite heat a cabin was always cool no bugs whatsoever of the whole week we expected mosquitoes and flies not see any and maybe a handful of mosquitoes which was really surprising in a pleasant way to walk down to the dock is not strenuous well paved with wooden staircase steps in certain parts unfortunately unfortunately we were not able to use the kayaks as I had had rotator cuff surgery recently and was nervous about pulling the kayak up and also paddling but sitting down at the dock and looking out what’s the most peaceful experience I’ve had in quite some time and as stated there are no physical structures when you look out onto the pond just one note about the pond you should be aware of as a tiny bit of a drop off from the land down to the pond maybe 2 feet so it’s easier just to walk out on the dock and Drop your feet into the water as it is extremely shallow just be aware that there is debris from falling trees at the bottom of the lake it is not a sandy smooth bottom so be aware that walking out can be a little bit tricky cabin it’s everything as ever ties very well-equipped plenty of towels and such and if need be there is a laundromat in Greenville the two sisters run which is the most fun I’ve had doing laundry in a long time the main store in town is a Hanniford supplied store called Indian Trade which has a nice selection of food beer wine and also when additional area that has an L.L. Bean type area with sporting goods and clothing Mike is the handyman garbage removal or whatever came around a few times spoke to him the first day for about a half an hour very interesting man and was not intrusive whatsoever again there’s really nobody there so truly are in a relatively isolated area but yet within 1015 minutes of the town the recommended drives that are Offroad are truly Offroad so just be aware of that I can be a little nerve-racking if you’re not used to it narrow roads a lot of gravel and could give you a little bit of a scare people that we spoke to extremely friendly and made the trip that much more pleasant One thing that we did we bought lobsters on the way up Near Freeport at Days on Rte 1 as we did not see any in the local supermarket in Greenville Loved it

Peace on the Pond

My husband and I had a very relaxing vacation on Prong Pond. The setting is so picturesque and the few people we met while walking in the area were very friendly and helpful regarding places to hike and sites to see. My husband was thrilled to catch some good size smallmouth bass and I loved going out in the canoe with him him and our dog just as the sun was rising. Ritchie was very responsive with any questions we had and the cabin was clean and comfortable for our stay. We hope to come back next Fall!

Must Stay!

This is a semi-private cabin. There are two near each other but when you arrive you'll see you're basically left alone. Cabin is clean and beautiful. Fire pit is in between the cabin and the pond (which looks more like a lake). When we come back, we will book here again.

Cabin has everything you need! Very clean. Dogs are allowed so there is dog hair but not a problem, does not smell like animals. Cozy lake cabin, right on water. Kayak and canoe are great!

Totally relaxing

Quiet, peaceful, quality fishing. It is exactly what me and my wife wanted. There was a cabin next to us but hardly came across each other. Only noise was maybe a small motor boat but rare. Loved it

Great Location

The cabin is in the middle of the woods on a the beautiful Prong Pond - What a view! We arrived at the cabin stocked with everything that we needed. The cabin has so much to offer with the kayaks / canoe and a great fire pit you really don't need to go anywhere else but close by are some fantastic hikes that you don't want to miss. It is a beautiful place.

Peaceful

Beautiful quiet property with a pretty view of the pond and woods. Quiet, serene . The cabin is beautiful and clean. We spent many hours on the deck or sitting on the ponds edge looking at the scenery and listening to the beautiful sounds of the loons. We had a wonderful outdoor fire, and on the rainy nights were able to play board games and watch movies. We loved the short walk through the woods to get to the waters edge. Short ride to the town with beautiful views of Moosehead Lake . If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to be ! Thank you!
