Great Location in West Ashley, Charleston SC! Screened Porch That Overlooks A Wooded Buffer and Shadowmoss Golf Course! Very close to the beaches, airport, and historic downtown Charleston! Also, located close to two shopping centers and Wal-Mart shopping center. Two hospitals mins away, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital and The Medical University of South Carolina. No owner/host staying or cohabitation while guests are vacationing!
Not the Hyatt, Hilton, or Four Seasons, but affordable, modest and clean.

Horrible Experience

This was supposed to be a three day stay in Charleston SC for the birth of my first grandchild. Exciting time.This was my first time using Vrbo and my last!The listing for this place is not as advertised. It is not a condo. At best it's an apartment.The pictures on Vrbo do not match what the listing actual looks like once on the property. This was my biggest concern with using Vrbo, Vrbo does not see the property. Vrbo is taking the word and trusting the host to be honest.The property was not ready when we arrived at 3 pm. We were delayed four hours to check in. Then had to contact the host to get the code, which did not work. Once inside, it was not clean.We ended up having to get a hotel father away from when my grandchild was to be delivered.The host was to give us a 50% refund, however after four weeks they have not given us any refund.This was a horrible experience with Vrbo and the host of this property. When it should have been a joyful time for us.

Short Vacation

The location within the complex was favorable. The price was reasonable. Lighting within the unit could be upgraded. The bedrooms each have nice size TV's which was nice. Once the owner completes the 2nd bathroom the unit will be pretty nice. Not much of a view of the golf course. No biggie. Would stay again.

It was TERRIBLE

We never received a code to get into the condo prior to getting there. We had to wait to receive the code once at the property, and it didn't work! The owner sent over 2 different codes and it took us over 20 minutes to get it to work on the door. We left to go to dinner and realized how cold it was and tried to come back to get our coats, the code once again would not work, and he wasn't responding to text messages, so we called.. he gave us 3 additional codes to which none of them worked. He then made us wait a HOUR before coming to let us in. . It took him 3 times doing different codes himself inorder for him to get in.Once we got into the property, we realized the shower is under construction in the main bedroom and out of use. Thefloors were absolutely filthy! The front door looked as though someone had tried to break in numerous times. The pictures were not at all what did property actually looked like. We told him we did not feel comfortable staying. he accused us of not wanting to stay because he was BLACK! The whole experience was unbelievable, and we wished to be refunded. We would never recommend anyone staying at this property!!

Not what it seems

The pictures don't accurately represent the property. Gross kitchen sponge, scuffed floors, spackled wall holes, cabinet that doesn't close, no butter knives, a 3 legged chair. Then there is the futon that was replaced with a couch but not removed from the ad. I was given an air mattress at midnight as the replacement. It really was a letdown.

The overall condo was dirty. The pics did not represent the furniture in the condo as with the bedrooms. We had to clean the bathrooms in order to use them. The smell of smoke was terrible that my one family member had to leave and stay in a hotel. The floor was filthy. I would not stay in this condo again. I can overlook some things but the condo not being clean is unacceptable. I knew the second bath shower was under construction but for over a year, something is amiss. The smoke detector was not working and there was no carbon monoxide alarm. I have asked for my cleaning fee to be refunded but have not heard from host. I did try to communicate all of my concerns with the host but have not heard back

Perfect little place!!!

My wife and i really enjoyed this place!!! If you are looking for luxury? This isn't your place... But it was absolutely perfect for the cost and convenience... It was very quiet and relaxing!!! Can't wait to stay here again!!!

Huge disappointment this property is totally disgusting. The place was a mess. We were Notified as we were entering the building that the master bathroom was not working. It was a total disaster. The place was not clean. There was a wet tile saw in the shower. The ceiling fan was down. I could go on and on don’t ever.

Decent but pics don’t tell the whole truth

En-suite bathroom is being remodeled so it’s a construction zone. Place was not very clean, missing fire alarm, dirty walls. Not sure that I would recommend it

Decent for the price

To start on a good note, the beds were very comfy and the sheets were the best sheets I’ve ever slept on! Although MOST of the condo was clean there was a small cigar butt on the floor and a sock left under the living room chair. I called the host and he said he would refund the cleaning fee (he didn’t). The pictures of the condo are old and everything has been changed to the point we thought we were in the wrong place. Everything was still nicely decorated and very tasteful just the decor and bedding had changed since the photos. The master bathroom was still not fixed but it is listed as a one bathroom, which was fine. Just confused on why it’s taken (judging by past reviews) a year to fix a shower. The location was decent, about 30 mins from downtown and isle of palms beach and 10-15 from most of the famous plantations.

Disappointing.

I would not book this place again. We had trouble getting in when we arrived. I called, no answer. We eventually got in and let the owner know; he never responded. I am not confident in his communication if we did have an issue. The main flooring is painted over, making it sticky. I stood in one spot for a few seconds and a significant section of paint stuck to my foot and peeled off the floor. It seems as though a family might live here when it isn't rented. There were (dirty) popsicle molds in the freezer and the closets were filled with misc. items. It was fairly clean. The shower could've used a good cleaning and the ice maker was dirty. It was fairly quiet and the A/C worked well. The listing is accurate in it being a one and a half bath; it doesn't mention that the second bathroom's shower is torn apart. There is one working shower. The toilet in the main bathroom stopped working; the tank wasn't refilling. The water to the toilet had been shut off; we were able to turn it back on and it worked thereafter. As other reviewers noted, the rugs are incredibly slippery. We moved them out of the way and used towels for bathmats. A handyman showed up Saturday morning while we were packing up before checking out. He had the access code and was told to come in and look at the broken shower. He was kind enough to wait until we left at our checkout time. This was alarming, as it hadn't been communicated to us that someone would be letting themselves in.

Not the best experience

When we went to check in at 3:10 pm the cleaning people were just leaving. The owner hadn't sent us the door code yet so I texted the owner. We got into the apartment and one of the toilets didn't work. The owner told us that he knew that the toilet wasn't working and that he was going to give us some money back. He never sent us any money. And when we messaged him twice with our venmo - he did not respond. He also said that a plumber was going to come over and fix the toilet. That never happened. He is a liar. I also saw in old reviews that one of the showers wasn't finished. I figured that the shower would be done by now. Nope. Not even close. Lastly when we got to the apartment it was 80 degrees. The dryer was running and I didn't think much of it. After I looked at the dryer closer I noticed that the dryer line was broke and was blowing hot humid air into the apartment. I let the owner know. I heard nothing. I have wrote the owner a couple of times about him sending us a refund. The owner has not written back.

This property was misrepresented. It was not clean. The sofa was filthy. The main bedroom bath was completely demolished in that the bath/shower had been completely demolished to be redone assumably. The thermostat was hanging loose from the wall and the air conditioner would not come on. There was no ice maker and no ice trays even to make ice. When the owner was notified of this and that we were not comfortable to even stay there he was rude and let us know immediately that he would not refund us. I would never recommend anyone to book this condo. The owner said when he was notified that we did not feel comfortable staying there that he wasn’t given the opportunity to correct the issues. Well if in 2 days he could clean or replace the filthy sofa, replace the demolished tub and shower, have the place properly cleaned and the air conditioner and thermostat repaired for our weekend stay… I would say he was a complete miracle worker. He did not refund my money and I told him that if he could in clear conscious not refund my money I would pray for him. Do NOT book this condo.

Short visit to Charleston

Plenty of kitchen space, outdoor screened porch with table and chairs, both bedrooms adequate in size, A/C works great, very quiet place and close to restaurants and shopping. All furniture is very dated and master bathroom shower needs to be completed, otherwise we had a good visit. This space is a 2 bedroom apartment (condominium) attached to other units.

Why they chose this property

I think people will find this area close to the city of Charleston, but just far enough away to enjoy the peace and serenity of the area. The condo has been completely updated with new appliances, fresh paint, smart tvs, and nice furniture that hopefully anyone traveling would appreciate and enjoy.

What makes this property unique

Pool, WiFi access, and plenty of privacy! Unit is located on second floor, sorry no elevator available.
