Resort Style with Hula Show, Fireworks and even Tiki Torches!
The Ilikai is the first hotel-resort condominium developed in Hawaii and is one of the original landmarks of Waikiki. It is best known for being featured in the Hawaii 50 TV series and is loved by tourist and locals alike. Conveniently located in Waikiki next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, it is steps away from the beach and a beautiful swimming lagoon. While not technically "on the beach" there are no streets to cross and it is literally just a 3 min walk after leaving the open air lobby to walk down a beautifully designed walkway which will lead you to the beach.
The lobby level amenities include a spa, hair salon, concierge, bell desk, restaurants, coffee shop, convenience store and resort retailers. There are also 2 pools including a swimming pool and a lounging pool. Valet parking is available 24/7. There are over 14,000 square feet of landscape yard and patios. 24 hour security.
The condo has been completely redecorated, freshly painted, mostly new furniture including a high end King size bed. Great view from the lanai (and from the bed!) of the lagoon and ocean. It has a fully equipped kitchen but if you prefer not to cook there are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from ranging from local fair to international favorites like Indian or Japanese.
It's the perfect place for a Waikiki stay.

The unit looked exactly like the listing. It was well stocked and very clean. The host was easy to communicate with and left really good instructions along with recommendations.
This is our second time staying there. The king size bed is very comfortable. The condo has everything you need to feel like you’re at home. It has an amazing view of the Friday Fireworks and the ocean and the lagoon. We Love staying there and Love dealing with Christy the owner. Thank you so much. We will be back. Aloha Lynn and Fred
This property was exactly as advertised. The 2 pools are great. You won't find a better spot to see the Hilton Hawaiian Village Friday night fireworks!
Perfect location in Honolulu, close to lots of shopping, dining, and Waikiki Beach. Clean, secure and comfortable. Would stay there again in a heartbeat 😊
This was a wonderful place, with great unobstructed views of the lagoon, fireworks and pool area. We were without three month old so it was n ie to peer down and see which pool had shade before making our way down 11 levels. The kitchen was well stocked. I really loved how Christy had plenty of coffee and cleaning supplies so we did t have to go buy things for the week we were there. I was thankful for the rolling wall that partitioned off the bed from the rest of the place so I could put the baby down and still hang out in the evening.
This is our second time staying here. We love the location, views and able to watch the fireworks from the balcony. Christy is a wonderful host, great communication. Clean, spacious and has all the beach gadgets for our use. Will def book again.
The property is situated in such a way as to be close to Waikiki but away from the noise. You have a great ocean view and front row seats for Friday Waikiki fireworks. I will definitely stay here again.
My parents and I had a quick but wonderful stay at this property! The condo was cozy and well-equipped, even with an unexpectedly needed first aid kit! Great location, and the coffee shop and restaurants in the building was super convenient and tasty! We would stay again!
The location and view of this property was outstanding. However the protestors from the Hilton Hawaiian village were very loud starting at 7 am they would move around the other side of the building. We weren’t able to enjoy the balcony or the pool. Hopefully this strike will be over soon . Otherwise a lovely stay.
The apartment was extremely well equipped and the location was very safe. It was easy for us to get to everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend this apartment.
We stayed for 4 nights during Sept. 2023 and were very pleased with the property. It is within easy walking distance to the beach, shopping and restaurants.
Location, Location!
Great views of Friday Fireworks and neighboring Luau dancers. Nicely appointed with thoughtful supplies and beach equipment. Easy In and Out. Wonderful Valet ($45/night) at the Illiki!
Mahalo Christy!!
The condo was perfect! The owner was extremely helpful and communication was immediate. We have stayed at several VRBO properties and this was by far the best. The Hula was authentic and the fireworks spectacular.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo !

About the host
Hosted by Christy Cote
I am a professional Argentine Tango dancer, teacher and choreographer based in San Francisco. The Ilikai was my home with my mother for more than 20 years where we made many great memories. Now I enjoy sharing that home with others from around the world thru VRBO when I am not enjoying the ocean view myself!
Why they chose this property
The Ilikai is an iconic building in Waikiki...ask any local and many who have visited there since it opened in 1964 and they will tell you it is a special place rooted in Hawaiian culture. It is unique for a condo building because it is part hotel, part time share as well as privately owned condos so guests enjoy an a resort like atmosphere with cafe's, restaurants, shops, convenience stores and a beautiful open air lobby. The beach is just a few steps away with a beautiful walkway from the "Pacific Terrace" to the swimming lagoon and then to the beach. The best part is the Friday night fireworks display which you can watch from the lanai...cocktails in hand, or course! Aloha!
