Welcome to George’s place (named after our loving Grandfather and the original owner of the property!)

Enjoy a relaxing lake retreat on Spider Lake in Traverse City, MI. This four bedroom, three and a half bath vacation rental is located on the west side of Spider Lake on a quiet paved road with 75 feet of private sandy frontage. Completely remodeled in 2021, this property features over 2400sq ft. Our home includes all the necessities for a trouble free & comfortable stay. In addition to a fully supplied home with all the kitchen, bath & bedroom amenities you need, we also supply two full size kayaks, pack-n-play and high chair.

The Space-

Private residential home recently renovated and equipped with new modern furniture and decor. It is located in the friendly lake community of Spider Lake and 10 miles to downtown Traverse City!

Winter- House is located 2 minutes from the Rasho Road trailhead, VASA bike trail which includes fat bike and XC Ski Trails

Summer- Enjoy all that all sports Spider Lake has to offer. Great fishing, Kayaking, Wakesurfing and Waterskiing. Boat Ramp is just a few minutes away. Dock can accommodate boats up to 25’ in length. There are 2 kayaks with life jackets for your use. A firepit to make smores while listening to the loons.

Our standard accommodation includes up to 12 people (1 King bed, 3 queen beds and one bunk bed with twin over full combo).

CHECK IN time: after 4PM
CHECK OUT time: before 10AM

5-7 DAY RENTALS ONLY: JUNE, JULY, AUGUST.

For your comfort you will have the following at your disposal:

A spacious living room with new vinyl plank floors, new furnishings, high ceilings, recessed lights, new smart television. There is a second living room located on the lower floor of the home that includes a section couch, lake views, a walk out door and smart television.

A fully equipped and well stocked open kitchen with island that includes the following new items: full size refrigerator, dishes, utensils, kettle, crock pot toaster, microwave, gas stove, fire extinguisher, 12 cup coffee maker, pots/pans and spice rack.

Three newly remodeled and clean bathrooms include, bathtub, shower, sink, and toilets. One newly remodeled half bath including sink and toilet.

Four newly remodeled bedrooms with new beds, new mattresses include hypoallergenic waterproof mattress covers, new hypoallergenic pillows with hypoallergenic waterproof covers, new comforter sets, ceiling fans with remote, lake views, abundance of natural light and lots of storage space to include all your luggage.

New central heat and air conditioning throughout the home.

Large deck includes plenty of patio furniture and lakefront views!

We also provide new plush bath towels, wash clothes, hand towels, high chair, pack-n-play, board games, quality linens, new stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer, laundry detergent, iron, ironing board, High speed wireless internet, ceiling fans, upright vacuum, fire extinguisher, two stall garage, keyless entry.

Back Yard –

Private access to dock on all sports Spider Lake. Boat Ramp is just a few minutes away. Dock can accommodate boats up to 25’ in length. There are 2 kayaks with life jackets for your use. A firepit to make smores while listening to the loons.

Please be respectful of residents during your stay by disposing of your trash and keeping down noise levels.

Great winter getaway with friends

This place was great for a fun winter getaway with friends. The layout of the house was perfect for a large group and was close to the activities that everyone wanted to do (ice fishing and snow mobile). The house was clean and the host was great with communication.

Really good place

Great quiet area, lake view, not far from shopping and beach!

11 ladies stayed here for a sisters weekend. We really loved George’s place! It was our private getaway for us UP and lower Michigan ladies to meet. We enjoyed lots of shopping 20 min away, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes and large Lake Michigan beaches 1 hr away. The 80° early fall weather topped it all off. I hope to come back in the future.

Great family and girls weekend getaway!

House was absolutely great. Lots of room to spread out. Rooms were all comfy. View was stunning. Be prepared for steps if you utilize waterfront. Lake was quiet and easy to get around in for novice water sport users. Close to TC. Be mindful of how many cars can come. Driveway is tight. Would definitely come again! Hosts were available and helpful! Close to TC

Great lake house experience

Robert was very kind and accommodating. Great communication. The house renovations made it feel brand new. Plenty of space for our two families, 4 adults and 6 children. We brought up our 19’ boat which Robert allowed us to keep on his dock. The lake is awesome, we did a lot of swimming. Thanks for a great week of memories with our family!

Wonderful lake house!

Our group contained 11 people - ages 52-10. Location on Spider Lake was wonderful - we could stay and play all day or take easy drives around TC area, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Macinac, etc. Lots of hiking, biking and multi-use trails. Inside: House layout worked great for us - very functional kitchen with great appliances and open to rest of first floor living area. It was the best stocked vacation home we’ve ever stayed in - had everything you might have forgotten or need (paper towels, TP, soap, bath towels, laundry/dish detergent, coffee filters, etc!) Outside: House sits close to and just above the water: 4 tiers of flat hang out spots: deck, upper level sandy area with fire pit, lower level flat sandy beach and the sturdy metal dock w/ stairs provide several good hangout spots. We even rented a large pontoon boat for a day from a nearby resort (walking distance from house) and could pick up and drop off people at dock. Our “kids”’ ages ranged from 10-24) and they all enjoyed themselves: Lots of successful fishing, SUPing, kayaking, reading, etc! The vertical of backyard would be a little challenging with toddlers (just something to consider.) Spider Lake: This lake is small & quiet - great fishing, clear water (clean, sandy bottom) and the 7:30p- 11a quiet hours were nice. Saw Loons, Bald Eagles, etc! Kids could go all over the lake in the kayaks or SUPs & explore the smaller inlets and islands all over the lake. Bob was a great host - would def stay here again!!

Family vacation

House not cleaned after last people. Outside garbage cans overflowing. Host sent someone on Saturday to touch up bathrooms. Only one couch in living area for 12 people. The lake was beautiful though and we rented a pontoon boat so everyone had fun.

Excellent Fall/Winter getaway

We rented this property to visit a family member who lives in the area and it was a terrific place to stay. The house was super spacious and comfortable. I can't wait go back in the summer!

Awesome Family Getaway

We had a wonderful time here. The property was exactly as described and well equipped. It was large enough to accommodate our family very well. Would love to visit in the summer and be able to use the lake. The property itself is gorgeous. House was clean and easy to access. Host responded quickly when we had questions.

Relaxing Vacation

The house was fabulous. Very roomy and perfect for a family with kids. Despite the colder weather & rain we all had a blast. Fishing was great off the dock! We plan to book this property next summer.

A great place for making memories

This was our second year of staying at George's Place and we loved it. We love the spot on the lake and the house has everything we need. I had a couple of questions and the owner was very responsive. We hope to be back again next year!

Beautiful Home and Awesome Lake Access

We had a wonderful time at George’s place! The house is spacious and welcoming, kitchen was beautiful and functional, had nice supplies too so we didn’t have to scramble for the necessities like paper towels and trash bags, etc. they also had sample size shampoos and toiletries which was a really thoughtful touch! The lake access has an adorable beach entry and dock. My kids had so much fun just jumping off the dock or wading in to the lake from the beach. We rented a boat and took the kids tubing on the lake which was so beautiful and fun. Paddle boarding was great as well (we brought ours) and the house had kayaks. The hosts are extremely helpful and responsive too! A relatively short drive to Traverse City downtown area. Overall pretty much perfect! I hope we can go again!

Beautiful property

Unbelievable views. Excellent lake access. House is very nice and is equipped very well. All of the games such as cornhole, ping pong, foosball, are a great touch. Very close to downtown which is awesome. Overall 10 out of 10, would recommend anyone to stay here.

Bayshore Marathon

We come to TC with extended family every year for the Bayshore Marathon over Memorial weekend. This property was perfect for us. Clean, close to town and right on the water. Highly recommended.

Fantastic lake home!

We spent 4 nights at this beautiful property on Spider Lake and enjoyed every minute from check-in to check-out. The host is very responsive and genuinely cares that you have everything you need to fully enjoy your stay. The house looks brand new and everything is spotless. We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen and sitting on the back porch watching the sun rise and set over the lake. We went to Peegeo's for pizza, used the kayaks to tour the lake and little islands, and enjoyed some quiet up-north time with friends and family. We have been coming to Traverse City once or twice a year for ten plus years and this is one of our top 3 favorite rentals to date. Hope that we can stay again in the future.

Great spot overlooking an inland lake... great home for gathering the family, cooking together, playing games and enjoying some outdoor fun in Traverse City. Host was excellent, and the property is fresh and well maintained.

Beautiful property and location

A group of us who have been friends for over three decades decided to travel together for the first time. This was such a wonderful home and location on Spider Lake. We loved being so close to Traverse City for a day trip, but then having a place to go back to that was so peaceful. The property was so clean and beautifully remodeled and Bob was super responsive.

Why they chose this property

It has always been a dream to own a home on the lake. It is only fitting that this home's original owner is named George and so is my grandfather who this is a tribute to. Sitting on the deck listening to the wildlife and activities on the water allows you to unplug, relax, and enjoy all that Pure Michigan has to offer.
