Beautiful casa in a stunning location
The house is beautifully presented and well designed. The views are stunning and the covered pool is lovely for a cooling dip.
The kitchen is well equipped and the house has unique finishes in many areas (cork!). Loads of hot water and good parking and garage for the car.
A good supermarket and other shops in nearby Avelar. The river beach at Fraga Sao Simao is well worth a visit.
We would have given 5 stars and the only reason we didn’t was because we chose it specifically for the tranquility aspect. This it was during the day but unfortunately, during our stay, there were two dogs chained up in a ramshackle shed next door. They made hardly any noise in the day, but kept us awake almost every night with random and persistent barking between midnight and 7am. Regina (host) did everything that she could to rectify the problem and the owners finally moved them for our last night. This did only affect us in the closest bedroom to next door (our kids slept through it) and hopefully if the dogs stay in their new location this won’t be a problem for future guests.
It is no reflection on Casa Corçica or the host, just on the attitude to dogs and their impact on others by these particular neighbours.
