About this property

Welcome to Historic St. Marys! This studio apartment is located above a 2 car detached garage. It has a private entrance through the garage, next to a beautiful pond, and up an enclosed stairwell. Due to the proximity of the pond we do NOT ALLOW CHILDREN for safety concerns. Inside there are 2 full size beds with 1200 thread count linens. The sitting area features a full size leather couch, coffee table and a flat screen TV . You will also find an oversized work desk with plenty of outlets to charge your gadgets so you can stay connected while you are away....if you have to. We have blazing fast WiFi throughout the studio. There is a breakfast table that seats 4, coffee maker, microwave, and a counter height fridge. We have provided a selection of snacks along with bottles of water. At the beverage bar we’ve provided a variety of coffees, teas, and hot chocolates, for your enjoyment! The bathroom has a shower with sliding doors, soft towels, wash cloths, soaps, lotions, individual makeup wipe removers, q-tips, hair dryer and toilet paper (NOT the cheap stuff) — all stocked and waiting on you! There is a dedicated outdoor parking spot with river rock walkway to the covered entrance. Enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs having coffee (or tea) while you watch the ducks play in the fully stocked pond. Feel free to make friends with them— their food is in the silver bucket by the chairs! There are 2 picnic tables to enjoy take-out from some of our local restaurants. Take in the sun rise or sun set on the deck over the pond. Sit and listen to music or just enjoy a quite night under the stars with a glass of wine. Owner has a friendly older dog (her name is Kizzy) that sun baths outside and can be petted.

Beautiful & Peaceful

This carriage house was a beautiful place to stay. It had everything we needed to have a restful night's sleep. The decor was appealing and the space was exceptionally clean. The owner even provided a choice of snacks and drinks. We would definitely stay again if we had plans to be in the area.

Friends Time

This Carriage House was just perfect for our trip. Host was very nice & responsive. Location was perfect. Was so very clean. We had such a relaxing time on the property, out by the pond having coffee in the morning and sunshine during the day. We would definitely recommend a stay here if going to St.Mary Ga. Will be back!! Clean Carriage House - Lovely Setting

This stay was perfect for my needs. It was close to the center of St. Mary's as well as many stores. I would highly recommend this listing! It was great waking up with Spanish moss right outside my window. If I return to St. Mary's I will be booking here again!!

Perfect!

My husband and I were going over to Cumberland Island National Seashore and wanted a place to stay that was close to the ferry dock. This cottage apartment was perfect and fit all of our needs. It's about five minutes to the downtown area and eight minutes to the ferry dock. The apartment was clean and set up nicely. It's in a beautiful neighborhood. Note: You do have to take stairs up to it, as it is above the garage, so this is not suitable for someone that has trouble going up and down stairs. We do recommend this property if your heading to St. Marys or even just passing through.

Perfect St. Marys Hideaway

This is a studio apartment above the owner's garage which was formerly a carriage house and is situated next to the owner's house. It is very spacious and comfortable. Easy quick access to center of St. Mary's. The owner was very hospitable and accommodating. I highly recommend it.

Hi I'm Mike. I've lived in St. Marys for 40 years. I like to fish, go boating, and spend time with my outdoors with my grandson.

Why they chose this property

When I built this house in 2007, I wanted a detached garage with studio above for family to stay in when they come and visit. Now most of my family lives in town with there own homes, so the studio stays empty all year. It is very well kept, clean, and very cozy. It is well lit by 6 tall windows from which you can see the pond and ducks. There is plenty of outside space available to enjoy. 2 picnic tables, large deck, and covered area with rocking chairs all overlooking the beautiful pond.

What makes this property unique

The property is 3 miles away from downtown St. Marys. Home to great restaurants and the ferry that goes to Cumberland Island. We are only 4.7 miles to Kings Bay Navy base and very close to many restaurants.
