The place is a dump

Everything in this property is falling apart and needs a makeover before being rented out again. The property owner is trying to dump the property and has obviously stopped taking care of it. To top it off the owner tried to charge me for their old washer and dryer failing and leaking. Stay away!

Decent Place

Overall it was a nice decent place to stay but a lot of things needed updating, TV in broom didn't work, Upstairs bathtub drain was slow to drain, furniture was a little out dated and worn. It was a place to stay for a couple of nights so a decent place but not one I would stay at again.

Quant and convenient

This property is very conveniently located near the Sugar Mountain ski lift. It is within walking distance but up a very steep hill. The two levels offered privacy to our two couples and the living room was spacious enough for us to spend time together. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and allowed us to reschedule our stay when a heat wave came through NC during our original booking. There were a few adjustments that we recommended to the very receptive owners. Overall a good stay.

Great place, medium walk to slope, snow tires required if roads not clear

Great cozy interior. Parking could get tight if all units in that section are full, was fine mid week and roads/parking clear of snow/ice. If it has snowed a lot and snow/ice accumulated on the roads then you will definitely need snow tires (or chains if ice) as is marked on a sign on the road right after sugar parking lot en route to the unit. So glad they had an air conditioner in the first floor bedroom; I tend to run hot especially after skiing, and the mobile a/c unit worked great (sending output air outside). If you want to walk to the slopes (in ski boots and carrying skis) you will need to walk down a bit of road to Bee Branch condos, then down the stairs which accumulate snow and can form a slick ramp. Totally doable, just be careful (look for cars on road and slipping on stairs) and make sure to bring money for lift tickets. Not really a practical option for walking back to unit for lunch, much more convenient to just eat in the lodge. Overall fantastic place for the price.

Why they chose this property

We love this location. It is a great place for our family to come ski in the winter and escape the heat in the summers. So much to do here year round.
