My two children and I stayed for a week and felt at home. The location is perfect for exploring the Bay Area. The home has everything needed, especially in the kitchen. My children loved the home so much they asked if we could come back next year. I hope we have the opportunity.
The pictures of this home do not give it justice. It is absolutely beautiful and very spacious. The kitchen has everything that you need. The backyard was our favorite spot for s’mores cooked on the fire pit, swimming in the lovely pool, using the grill, and playing cards in the shade with huge evergreen trees as a backdrop. The movie room was a family favorite with a huge screen and sound system. The layout of the home made it easy for all generations (11-90) to enjoy.
Great house with updated kitchen and bathrooms. Lots of indoor and outdoor space for entire family. Beautiful art throughout the house and excellent media options in living room and Movie theater.
The backyard lawn has seen better days and needs watering and tending but excellent pool and lots of patio furnitures ( some of the patio furnishings, pillows are worn and could be replaced). However the beautiful vista and bucolic backyard made the pool side a good place to relax and hang out.
The owmner Basil was available and responsive with rapid communication when questions arose.

Better maintenance needed
This peoperty is nice. It’s big. But it is not well kept. There are no garbages in any of the bathrooms. Doorknobs are loose. Windows and screens painted shut. Personal items in all the bathroom cabinets. Kitchen cabinets not cleaned and very disorganized. Seemed a bit dirty in places. Ceiling leaked. Location is beautiful. But the house needs to be looked after better.

Not as expected
I’ll start with the positives. The backyard is fantastic. The pool is so much fun! Our kids loved it! The backyard is private and has multiple seating areas for eating or relaxing. Check in was easy, and the house had plenty of towels, toilet paper, etc. The downside is that this property is listed as a “private house” and it’s not true. There is a tenant on property that lives in a small apartment behind one of the garage space, and there are dogs. Did not expect dogs barking at us when we arrived, especially when we have small children. This was not disclosed. Also this home is not a professionally managed property. It is a house someone lives in and occasionally rents out. There are personal items throughout the house (photos of family members, a fridge that is off limits, the main suite that is locked and inaccessible, etc). Not what we expected. Also, there is some deferred maintenance. The flooring has some gaps between some of the boards and looks like it was a DIY project. The door to the backyard from the living room doesn’t work so we had to use the door by the kitchen. We had no access to any of the 3 garage spaces, and also there are 3 cars parked outside of those garage spots. Annoying since temps were in the 90s and we had to get in a hot car with small children. Not the standards we expected especially compared to other properties we’ve rented at this price point. The property manager is on the east coast so that was an issue. We would not recommend it.
