We spent 4 lovely days in Morgan Springs on Dayton Mountain. The cabin was very clean, quiet, and felt secure and safe. It was closer to the neighboring cabin than we expected - sharing a fire pit/grilling area, but there were no other guests so it worked out great!
We had traveled from Ohio to stay at another place and it was nothing like they said. Absolutely couldn’t stay there! So we called the property manager and he saved our trip the little cabin in the woods was amazing! Highly recommend this place.
We were in town for the Bassmaster High School National Championship. Great location, only 12 minutes from the Dayton boat ramp. Plenty of room for boat parking. Would definitely stay here again when fishing Chickamauga.
Very nice, comfortable accommodations! My son and I stayed while he fished in a tournament out of Dayton launch. Easy, quick commute. Relaxing and picturesque cabin that was clean and quiet. Hoping to make the trip again in the future and this will be my first choice for lodging!! Thank you for a great experience with my son!!!
Came down for a fishing tournament. Was quit and relaxing. And was only about 5 mile from the boat ramp.Nice and clean has everything you need for a relaxing trip.. Highly recommended..

Very clean and perfect for 2 adults. Parking was a little narrow. Air conditioner is about shoulder high walking between a boat and the cabin. Poison oak.
I was in the area for business and decided to find a cabin instead of a hotel. It worked out great! We were greeted by the owners and their dog. Due to a cancellation we had our choice of the cabins. The owners were very attentive to our needs.
We enjoyed our stay. Our cabin (B) had two twin beds that were comfortable to sleep in. There was a big screen smart TV. Wi-Fi available. Gas stove for cooking!
I stayed at this charming cabin on a work trip. It was my home base while I visited neighboring counties. It was delightful to come back to each night, get some on-line work done, then relax.
The cabin is very clean, and the hosts have thought of every appliance and comfort that makes for a homey experience.
It was quiet and peaceful. It stormed a lot while I was there, and I stayed cozy and dry inside - no problems related to the cabin’s efficiency in bad weather. No problems of any kind, actually.
The hosts were always immediately responsive when I texted them upon arrival and departure.
I’d love to make this place my regular spot when I come back to the area for work!
Really enjoyed the stay property was off the main road but very secluded and secure. Super nice cabin. Will definitely stay here again when in the area! Also has outlets for battery charging and outdoor lighting for rigging tackle late, two huge bonuses!
this cabin was perfect for our stay while enjoying the Lake just a few miles down the road.
clean and ready for our stay. we plan on staying again soon. way better than staying at any local hotel
This area and the cabin that we stayed in was clean and quiet and the place was just wonderful. The color of fall was here as it was so colorful and great to see the mountains too ! It is a place to go to anytime and it will always be on your mind too. We both loved it and would go back again and hope to enjoy the cabin again. The owners were so great and made you feel like right at home too. Anyone looking for a place to stay I would reccomend these cabins now. Thank you for a great time !!!
Perfect little cabin. A short drive up the mountain. It feels like you're isolated from the craziness of the world.
The cabin has everything you need. Modern but feels rustic. Easy check in and out. I would Definitely stay here again if in the area.
The owners were very nice and willing to go above and beyond for us. The cabin was a slice of heaven. This area was beautiful and the cabin made for a peaceful wonderful weekend. The pictures do it no justice..it was beautifully decorated and well stocked with anything you may need. The boat hook-ups were very convenient with the light and plug-ins for use in the dark.
We rented this cabin because it was very close to Fort Bluff Camp where our daughter's softball team was staying. It was very clean, well appointed, and beautiful. The online pics don't do it justice. We loved the front porch.

About the host
Hosted by Dr. Hal Hammer, Jr.
We got tired of the heat and crowded conditions in Florida and, when our neighbors started talking about "The Mountain", we were intrigued. We asked, "What is this Mountain you always refer to?" They said, we have a spot for your motorhome, so come on up and visit. See for yourself. Well . . . . We drove up there, started experiencing the Mountain and fell in love! Within a week, we bought this property. It was so beautiful and relaxing, we wanted to share it with our grandkids, Mason and Matthew. So, me being a retired general contractor and my wife a Realtor, we decided to design and build cabins for the boys. They turned out so nice that, since the boys couldn't be here all the time, we decided to share them with special guests. They are fully furnished and the interior knotty pine, tongue and groove was a challenge for Terri and I to do but we love how it turned out. We put in good WiFi because the boys are "gadget active" and it makes the streaming TV really fabulous! Come visit our Mountain and see what we mean!
Why they chose this property
We are about five miles down Highway 30 from the Dayton boat ramp where all the wonderful fishing tournaments are held. About two miles away, you will find Fort Bluff, and the NACA tournaments. It is a short, day trip to Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Rock City, The incline Railway, and Fall Creek Falls State Park. Laurel Snow Wilderness area is 10 minutes away with waterfalls, old mines, a rushing stream, and hiking trails. The Wilderness Area, like the State Park and lots of others offer free admission. We are halfway between Dayton and Pikeville, right on top of the Mountain! Nearby, you will find Athens, Cleveland, and a Mennonite settlement and craft area near Dunlap. Beautiful Mountain roads are everywhere and so much fun to drive and see the scenery. Oh . . . And did I mention the cabins are in the woods and there is privacy? Deer, squirrels, a little red fox, and so many birds abound here. We provide for the wildlife and try to let them know they are welcome here. Chances are, if you look out the window at the right time, you will see them! Come join us!
What makes this property unique
Privacy, wildlife, clean air, fully equipped, furnished cabins, and the magic of The Mountain, are just a few of the immediate benefits that make this place unique. Strategically located in beautiful East Tennessee, just North of the Georgia border is another benefit and gives you close proximity to a myriad of attractions, many that offer free admission. And did I remember to tell you about the privacy! Absolutely a unique, very special place! RockyRidgeResorts.com
