Searching in South Carolina

The place is great, we stayed for the month of February. The location is very quiet, and in a nice neighborhood. If you are taking a dog I might suggest a flashlight, it is dark at night outside as there are no street lights. There are great restaurants on IOP and Sullivan Island. I suggest you make reservations way in advance.. The same for downtown Charleston restaurants. The house has a lot of room for guests, you definitely won’t be on top of each other. The screened in porch is very nice.

Perfect New Year

A beautiful house, beautifully decorated and maintained, in a beautiful place! My family and I were seeking a peaceful and cozy new year holiday with access to local sites and conveniences and the Palmetto porch house absolutely delivered. Erin was a delight to deal with, we would definitely stay here again!

Isle of Palms Staycation

Owners were fantastic with communication, property was accurate as shown in photos and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly! First time in the area and it did not disappoint. Will most likely stay again!!

Enjoyed our time at IOP

We had a great experience and communication with the owner was excellent. The only bad things were the mosquitos, they were EVERYWHERE outside, and every time we opened the door some would get in. There was a cabinet with bug spray and other necessities which was a nice touch. And, the fireplace didn't work which was a bummer, but the owner did reply and send someone to fill up the propane immediately, we just could not get it to turn on. Other than those minor things, everything was great and the location was awesome!

Great house!

My family and I had a great experience at Beachy Haven! It is a beautiful house perfect for a large family vacation. The house was clean and well stocked with all kitchen essentials along with bath towels. It is also a very short walk to the beach and an excellent waterside restaurant. I would definitely recommend this rental!!

Isle of Palms Getaway

Our getaway was with family from NY, VA and NC. We had a memorable time and this house was very roomy and accommodating. This home had been tastefully remodeled and decorated. Very large sun room with dining. The host was great and replied to us very quickly. Very quiet neighborhood. I would recommend this place and host again. Great experience!

The kids slept in their own beds...all night...every night!!! Big win!!!

This house is soo comfortable. Lots of space for everyone to have a place to relax, a place to gather and a place to play. The kitchen is well stocked and organized. Having a wagon and chairs available saved us a ton of room in the car. Check in and out was a breeze. The owner was also readily available when contacted. We walked to the marina and the beach several times with 3 kids in tow. Our family vacay was much enjoyed by all. We will be back!

The house was awesome and has everything you need. It’s an easy walk to the beach. Even easier walk to bay. Would be a great place to stay in the summer. So close to so many things. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for three nights with our kids and grandkids and everyone really enjoyed it. We got a lot of use out of the foosball table, the ping pong table and we made smores at the firepit one night. Erin was very good about getting back to me right away when I had a question. The house had everything we needed and there was plenty of room for 6 adults and 4 small children. We walked to the beach several times. It was about a 10 - 15 minute walk (with little ones). Instead of walking on the busier street we went one block past 41St and went on 42nd through a nice quiet residential area which dead ended at the beach. There was a wagon available to use for carrying sand toys and toddlers. One evening we walked to Islander 71 Fish House for dinner. I can't think of any negatives for our stay.

Nicely remodeled home with some quirks

This home is in a good location. Unfortunately, there isn’t a sidewalk to get to the beach from the house and it would be a trek to try and haul all your beach stuff to the beach. However, there’s parking near the beach access and since we were here during off season, it was easy to get a parking spot next to beach access. If you are a healthy adult without much to carry to the beach, it is walkable from the house. The house is set back in a more wooded area. Unfortunately, there were a lot of mosquitos. The back yard is very big and fenced in with a nice fire pit. The house appears to be an older house, that has been nicely remodeled on the inside, but there are some seal issues with the windows and we did see some gnats in the house. The kitchen has a nice ice maker, which is very convenient. There is not a Keurig in the kitchen, but they have a traditional coffee maker. The water dispenser on the fridge seems to be broken, water comes out of it in a very slow trickle. The beds were very comfortable and the house is very spacious. The TV was not working properly and we were unable to use it. I did not attempt to contact the owner, so she may have been able to easily remedy this for us if we had tried. You should know that cable is not included. You will have to login to your own streaming services if you want to watch anything. The Foosball table/ping pong table were big hits with our crew. Also, the light switches are in weird locations. Overall, I would stay here again.

Lovely, comfortable and well-appointed home for the perfect getaway to Isle of Palms and Charleston.

Short walk to beautiful beach and ten-minute drive to great shopping and restaurants. We loved our stay at Erin's house and look forward to returning with the rest of the family as there is certainly plenty of room for all of us!!

Amazing! Loved the place!

Oh my goodness. This was such a delightful place to stay. We can't say enough about it. It was close to the beach. It was close to the marina. It was decorated very tastefully. The kitchen is a "Chef's Kitchen" that has all you need to cook everything from the simple to the complex - including condiments & spices (ugh - you know how frustrating it can be to spend $50 in "single use" condiments & spices? - Not here!) The hosts (Erin & Gregg) thought of everything. They had just about all you needed for the beach. They had umbrellas, chairs, and a wagon to tote things, making the short walk to the beach even shorter. As hosts - they were extremely responsive and provided us great ideas for things to do for dinner and non-beach excursions. Once you book their place (which you will :-), you will find a lot of ideas in their well-thought out guidebook which is posted on their page. And the porch may be worth the price all by itself. Seating for our entire group. Loved being able to sit outside without sitting outside!

Nice Vacation Spot

This is a great house for an affordable get away on the Isle of Palms. If you have young children, or elderly folks, there are a few things you need to consider. There are a few different levels in the house with very few hand rails so you have to be diligent. The kitchen could use some upgrades and be better stocked, but the addition of the ice maker is AWESOME! There's only 1 TV in the house and there is no access to cable TV or local channels. If you do not have a bevy of streaming accounts, you are out of luck. However, the owner is great to work with and the check in process was very easy. The house was clean. The Laundry room was great and well stocked for us! The chairs in the dining room were uncomfortable and not suitable for sitting for long periods of time, but we didn't use them enough to worry about that. The beds were really comfortable (with the exception of the lackluster mattress in the Queen bedroom) and we had a great time as a family. We would definitely come back!

We are so excited to have found our little spot of paradise on Isle of Palms (IOP)
And we are excited to share it with you.

Why they chose this property

Our house has the best of both worlds - proximity to the beach, and proximity to the marina.

The Beach: The beach is only a short walk away - with the main beach access being on the same street the house is on (41st Ave). And the beach is why you came, right?!

The Marina: You are only 100 yards away from the marina - featuring a public boat ramp, a playground for little ones, a wonderful (brand new) restaurant, and one of the best shops on the island to pick up your official "IOP" T-Shirt, hat, keychain, along with just about everything else (expected and unexpected).

Furnishings and decor:
The house has been well maintained, and updated - with comfortable furniture, beautiful, tasteful decor, and everything you'd need for your stay on the island.

Screened in Porch:
We have a beautiful screened-in porch that's big enough for multiple families to stay, eat, drink, and laugh about Susie's awkward sunburn she got. :-)

Ping Pong and foosball:
Sometimes the weather disagrees with your plans. Sometimes the weather agrees with your plans, but the kids do not. When either situation (or others) present themselves, enjoy a game of ping pong in the garage, or foosball in the living room.

Huge, enclosed backyard:
We have a huge, enclosed backyard to let the kids and adults burn off whatever energy is left after 8 hours at the beach, and the "winner take all" ping pong tourney.

Outdoor Shower:
Take full advantage of a heated, ourdoor shower!
Or, perhaps a cooling shower because you fell asleep on the beach.
Regardless, there's something 'je ne sais quois' about taking a shower outside! :-)

Solo Stove Firepit:
Who wonders why the smoke always follows you wherever you move around the firepit? It's because smoke is a sentient being (you remember the smoke monster from Lost, don't you? :-).
That's why we decided to invest in a Solo Stove. Its design leads to an almost smoke-less fire. Which makes s'more roasting even better!

And this is just the start!

What makes this property unique

Proximity to the Marina + Lots of parking: If you have a boat - bring a boat!
We have enough parking on our property for all the cars AND a boat. The summer months can be a bit busy with limited day parking (and no night parking) for your trailer. But because we are only 100 yards away - it makes it really easy to drop the boat in, park the trailer at the house - and walk right back to the dock and motor away.
