Nice rustic cabin with water and heat located on the Oldman River, just what we were looking for. Spent 5 days relaxing, exploring the property, and staring at the stars at night. Joe is a great guy with lots of knowledge of the area. Located about 15 minutes from Pincher Creek with easy access from the main highway. We would definitely stay there again.

Peaceful retreat
We were looking to "get away" and have a private place to relax with our dog with access to water, woods and stars. This place was perfect for just that. Joe is great and was very welcoming.
Loved everything about our stay, but beware…you’re in the country, on a river, in a rustic cabin. Do not have Big City 5 star hotel expectations! But, expect to be wowed by Joe, by the stars, and by the River. A little dirt is part of the relaxed experience. Enjoy! We certainly did!
The cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay, and is in a great location for exploring the surrounding areas. Our pup enjoyed the free roam and playing with Joe's pups. Joe is an amazing host.
Joe has a beautiful property! The dogs loved running around and exploring. Joe took my husband fishing and he caught a fish! We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back.
Easily one of the best places we've ever stayed. It starts with the host, Joe. He's warm, welcoming, and makes you feel right at home. After spending a little bit of time with him over the course of a few days, I feel like I've known the guy for decades. And as great as the host is, the property offers river access and a sense of serenity that's hard to match.
We absolutely loved our stay at Joe’s cabin! The location is ideal for those wanting a quiet escape from city life. Our kids loved exploring the walking paths and wading along the river bank and our dog was in heaven tagging along on all their adventures. We don’t fish, but I do love birding, and this is an excellent spot for engaging with multiple varieties. Joe was a treasure and our only complaint is that we didn’t book for longer!

This is an amazing place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world on just enjoy beautiful scenery and a great location. Joe, the host, was incredibly engaged and responsive. Would stay here again.
What a magical experience!
Joe is the most kind, warm, and welcoming host you could ask for. He had so many great stories to share, making our stay even better. Huey the doggo is a great pal that will play endless fetch with you too!
It's quiet, serene, healing. There's no cellphone signal, so you can actually unplug and relax. Just a 1-minute walk to the river where you can catch beautiful sunsets every evening. We loved seeing so many deer roaming around! We caught 2 fish (with worm) - but remember here it is catch and release! There are a couple other beautiful spots nearby (~20mins, Beavermines in the mountains and Lee Lake where you can catch and eat!).
The wood stove kept the place super cozy and the tap water is drinkable, which was a nice plus. There's outlets to charge equipment. And warm water for scrubbing down. There are so many places to hang out; around the fire, in the bedrooms, in the outdoor living room, and the indoor living room. There are extra showers down the path if needed, and an extra bathroom just outside (the most beautiful "outhouse" I have ever seen)!
The road to drive in is pretty smooth and maintained. You can go up to the main cabin for wifi, but it's extremely slow. So download your Netflix movies ahead of time.
Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance! We will be back one day!
A stay here is like getting to enjoy your own personal nature sanctuary. A peaceful time in the woods, filled with birds and georgeous views. Bring the pups, they will love wandering the woods with you! The host Joe is super friendly, knowledgable, amd wants you and your family to have a dream getaway.
Had a great stay at the cabin with my dog. It was everything I expected and more. Very peaceful time and love the wood burning stove! Wonderful host, thanks Joe!
We were greeted happily by Huey.when we arrived on the property. We were given a tour by the owner and Huey. Huey stayed to play with us. It's a nice, quiet place to visit. We enjoyed the within walking distance river.
I have been taking my 4 grandchildren aged 10 to 15 on a summer holiday for the past 5 years. I chose this property because it was on the river for fishing and swimming, close to Waterton for hiking and sightseeing and close to amenities yet rural. The kids and I really enjoyed floating down the river and exploring the ranch especially visiting with the dogs and horses. The cabin was comfortable and the bedding was good quality. Joe was welcoming and very helpful.
We had a great time. Fabulous location. Joe, the property owner was so willing to help us if we needed anything. A great guy with a lot of interesting stories. We will be back. I just hope it is available.
I was working at the Pincher Creek Hospital for the week and my Husband and Kids had the cabin to themselves for the week. Tons of exploring to do at the property and at any of the provincial parks/recreation areas within 30 minutes. We brought our bikes and the kids (ages 5 and 8) got a ton of bike riding in.
Joe’s cottage is inside of a story. It’s in the middle of nowhere and you can completely forget your regular life if you stay there for a few days. There is no phone signal or internet and the number of quirky things in the house will easily keep you busy. Do take friends though, or people you can talk to. We went when saskatoon berries were plenty and we kept eating them throughout our stay. The dogs are a friendly lots; so well behaved. We tried our hand at fishing, flew kites, cooked, read, played the Guitar. Just pack some clothes and groceries and you’re all set ! Do take some bug spray if you have kids as mosquitoes are plenty in the evening.
Loved the stay completely and we had all the privacy.
Joe was a great host and answered all the question promptly right from before the booking till after we checked out. Highly recommend!
Perfect getaway away from other campers. The spot on the river is beautiful, and quiet. Joe seemed truly interested in our comfort and activities we wanted to engage in. While the river was not in good shape during our stay due to the Olman Dam operators actions, I did catch one of the largest Brown's I've ever put a hand to during my 40+ years of flyfishing.
Do not be afraid to sit and tell stories with Joe. He has a lifetime of them, and is interesting listening.
You will not be sorry to rent for a spell
We wanted a place we could stay that would be away from the busy city. This property was very quiet. Being very close to the river was very nice. Our dog had a blast having such a open space to explore. We will be back, for sure.
