About this property

Creek View Cabin at Skipwillow Farm

Relax in our cozy and comfortable cabin located on a small, family run dairy goat farm.

Please be sure to read the entire description before booking. Wifi is not available in this cabin! (It is available at our other cabin - Spring Side Cabin).

Enjoy the sounds of nature from the large deck overlooking the creek below.

On clear nights, stargazing is incredible right outside the cabin door...or walk to the top of the hill for an even longer range view. :)

Enjoy the country life while still only being 10 minutes to the musical and artistic town of Floyd, VA.

This is a tiny cabin perched on a hill overlooking Beaver Creek.

When you stay, you will have access to a private deck overlooking the creek and a fenced area for parking and relaxation. The deck is large enough to spend the day relaxing in nice weather, and the evening around the fire pit! There is also a wildflower garden when in season.

The cabin is located approximately 300 feet from the main house in case you need anything. It is located on an active family farm with children and animals. While we give you plenty of space and privacy, you will experience all the fun and activity of the farm. Note: There is NO SMOKING on the property, inside or outside.

We have chickens and dairy goats. The goats love visitors, so please let us know if you want to take part in the farming, or just give treats :).

There is a loft which holds a queen mattress and a futon that folds out to a full size bed in the main level. The loft is reached by climbing a sturdy ladder. However, **those with mobility concerns may find it more challenging to climb.**

The bathroom contains a standup shower and modern composting toilet. **The toilet does have special instructions (everyone sits for all bathroom use, urine catchment must be emptied every couple days) - feel free to ask any questions!**

PLEASE NOTE: If the instructions are not followed, it causes a lot of extra work in cleaning properly. **If instructions are not followed, there will be an additional cleaning fee at host's discretion. **PLEASE ASK if you have any questions with the toilet!

The mini-kitchen offers a toaster, microwave, hotplate and refrigerator. Please note there is not a full stove, but we do have a grill available for guest use.

Please note that the cabin is on the edge of the woods, and you may encounter wildlife while here :).

Early check-in is available upon request and scheduling availability.

Lovely

We loved this little cabin. It was cozy, comfortable, quiet, and quaint. A nice reprieve from the graduates in Blacksburg. We would stay again!

Pretty cabin perched over a pristine creek, the happy surprise of running into an exotic chicken, waking up and seeing more stars than I knew existed. Thank you for the hospitality!

Cozy Tiny Cabin In The Woods & Goats On The Hill

The cabin we stayed in above the stream was a bit rustic and comfortable. Bigger than a tiny house to comfortably accommodate two people and a dog. Get ready to climb up to the loft bed with a window to look out onto the trees. The deck offers a table and place to grill and the feel is as though you're living in a tree house. Owners did a nice job decorating just enough as it was quaint, tidy, clean and a great way to get off the grid while having heat, lights and hot/cold running water on-demand. I really enjoyed stepping into the whiskey barrel shower stall. The composting toilet worked nicely. Mark took us up the hill to meet the family of goats and their guard dog. The owner's main house is close by, so if you need anything they're available. We were warmly greeted and the view is gorgeous.

I did not expect a composting toilet. Water taste might be usual in the area however my taste buds did not care for it. Overall space is small.

A great stay

Cabin is charming, and thoughtfully provisioned. Enjoyed hanging out on the deck and the gorgeous view from the top of the hill. It's a short trip to downtown Floyd, loved the Saturday market and the Coutry Store!

Cute little cabin

My husband, 10 yr old & puppy stayed here for 1 night while driving down to Carolina. I would say that staying here is like glamping. It’s off grid so the toilet is a very different experience then we are used too lol. The water tank makes noise when using so being mindful of that if someone is sleeping. We got here @8pm & left early the next day so unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit, goats & the scenery. I would recommend here for maybe a single person or a couple. Floyd is a great little town.
